    In this video I’m going to show you how use the Boss RC-5 Loop Station Pedal. I’m also going to show you how to use the loop pedal along with the Boss FS-7 momentary foot switch. I find this momentary foot switch necessary for what I use the looper pedal for. I’ll show you what the benefits are.

    Hi Jerry, I could use your help if you would like...I would like to know how to configure my RC500 looper and the FS-7 pedal to use the FS-7 only to switch between loops. what are the settings in the RC500 control menu? Memory inc or dec... and of course the setting of the FS-7? Thanks in advance. Musically, Bruno.

      @JerryCherryBand  Před měsícem

      Hello. I don’t have the RC500 all thought I’ve been thinking about getting one. I can only imagine that you can use the FS-7 to go up and down the patches. I would think you would go to the Control setting and set the external footswitch ch1 1 and 2 which is A and B to go up and down. Nothing to set on the FS-7. There may be a polarity switch but not important in this case, unless it’s in the wrong position. Hope that helps.

    8:01 this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. My Digitech JamMan looper does the ‘stop/hold to clear’ by default and I’m married to it by this point. For me, double tapping is too tricky to mess with while singing and playing guitar live. Also for my purposes I need to clear a loop once I’m done with it in the set, just in case I accidentally hit my looper while going for the pedals next to it. Don’t want any surprises, haha. Thanks for the info. Will be buying one soon.

      The looper will record whatever is plugged into it and recorded. If you want a dry sound don’t use effects before the looper. Effect pedals after the looper for effects. If the amp has effect it’s going to affect the loop and anything else plugged into the amp. Hope that helps.

      On the FS7 you can set A or B with any commands. If b is set to clear then I would imagine it would clear one loop at a time. It should clear the last recording first. I use A to clear and B to tap tempo because it's easier on the bottom.

    • @JerryCherryBand
      @JerryCherryBand  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Cruz. You can only create/record one loop. The way I do it is I'll click the pedal starting off the song playing a part while it's recording. I have my FS-7 set to where I can press it and stop the recording without it playing back. I'll do that. While I'm playing I can go into another part. At anytime I can start the first loop and have it play while I play over it. If you want multiple loops / tracks you'll have to get one of the higher level units like the RC-500. Hope this helps. Thanx for asking. You may want to loop the verse and chorus together then play over that.

      Hi, yes you can do that. I use an FS-6 to do that with the RC5. In RC5 go to Setup > Control > CTL2. It will give you an option for Memory Incline (move up to next Memory), also one for Memory Decline (move down Memory).

      @JerryCherryBand  Před 2 lety +1

      @@paulmaslak8299 Hi Paul. I was under the impression that Cruz was wanting to record multiple loops on the fly. I'm aware that you can have different loops on different memories. You have 99 of them. If you're doing that you would have to store each loop to a memory to switch between them. On the fly you cant do that. In my experience when I record a loop on one memory, without bending over to the pedal and storing it, I switch to another memory, I go back to the first memory the loop is gone. These memories are like presets you have to store in order go back and forth between. I work on the fly with loopers. I don't tend to save loops. I do sometimes if I'm teaching how to solo over multiple progressions. Then I'll save a few progressions on different memories. If Cruz wants to save a verse on one memory, and a chorus on another, I don't see why not. Try it. Thanks for your comment.

      The NMP-2 looks like it can work. Seems with that like the FS-7 you only need one TRS cable to use both channels. Marshall I'm not sure. Thanx Vivek.

      The Marshall is likely a latching switch it needs to be a momentary switch

      @@rob0781 Good thing about the FS-7 is that it’s both latching or momentary. There’s a switch. Thanx

      Also, can I use this with a Boss RC1? And I would need just one TRX cable ya? Thanks so much again :)

      My pleasure. You do need to power it. A handy multi plug with a 1 spot works great for most pedals.

      @JerryCherryBand  Před rokem +1

      @@Shalini_Jay_Music You can use it with the RC1. The TRS cable lets you use both switches on the FS7. If you use a patch cable you may only get one of the switches. I believe you can only use one switch anyway with e RC1. Thank you Shalini.

    Hey! Is it possible to stop drums while loop keep playing and then start drums again ?

    • @JerryCherryBand
      @JerryCherryBand  Před 2 lety

      Yes, it's possible. You have to have an external midi pedal attached. I know that stinks. I'm always bending over to the pedal shutting the drums off and on. But the good news is that an inexpensive midi pedal will do that and much more. Have fun looping.

    • @narcsoul
      @narcsoul Před 2 lety +1

      thanks for your instant answers !! To stop only the loop ....* while drums keep playing * is more simple or not it possible with just the footswitch ?

    • @JerryCherryBand
      @JerryCherryBand  Před 2 lety

      @@narcsoul My pleasure. You can easily stop the loop and keep the drums playing with just the footswitch. If you want to then stop the drums you have to bend over and press the button on the RC-5 or set up the midi pedal which is cool. With the midi pedal you can also then restart the drums and rerecord a new loop.
