You can import drum loops into the NUX Loop Core Stereo as well. Sometimes they have to be converted, but NUX even offers free software for that one. Here in the US the Ditto+ is $159 and the LCS is $119, so I chose the NUX as I've fallen in love with several of their pedals and they're built really well. The built-in drums are great for just noodling around as well. Nice, quick video.

I own the Boss RC500, sold my Ditto Looper before. They are designed for different purposes for sure. My complaint with the Boss is the audio quality, it would seem that there is some kind of huge tone suck. As for the Ditto Looper, what I like is the simplicity and the cleanliness, the extremely low latency when switching and quality of the quality of the signal preserved. Amazing for such a small pedal.

Worth noting: Ditto+ can expand the loop. Meaning you can go longer recording over the loop and it will extend the play.
The NUX also has wav import, and a count in feature so you don't have to record the moment you hit the button.
I have used the Ditto+ is what I have used for a few years and it is good except for adding more treble to loops. I have the NUX model on the way and am hoping it does better with playback.

It helps that pete has great loop ideas and musicality - keep these coming - it makes a change to just doing the demos (which are still great). Loved the old series where i think the captain was taking lessons from Pete and Ariel . - must look that up!

Boss RC-1 is my choice of a simple looper. Somehow it's way easier for me to keep track of the tempo with the 'round' representation of the loop than flashing lights. I also switch the standard setting to one pusch=overdub and 2 steps = no overdub. + a fs5 pedal to go full stop and delete. Makes live-performances a breeze with a still pretty cheap pedal.
Matter of taste of course. Some might like flashing lights more than the rather odd representation of the RC-pedals.
And for those hesitating: Loopers are fun, yes! But it is also a very valuable tool to learn about scales and chord-progressions and test stuff.😉

Ditto stereo ended my search for simple loopers. As easy to use as the mini ditto without any of the mini pedal problems. Mini pedals not having more of a base to the pedal wobble too much on a board. They are great if you use a pedal switcher or it’s an always on kind of pedal. But not for a looper that requires precise stomps.

I use a rc2 with the quantize feature since years. I am looking for a smaller one like the Ditto / Ditto+ - But i really like the perfectly quantized loops of the rc2. Is there a smaller looper with this feature. When I for example use the built in looper of my tc Helicon play acoustic - my loops are really off most of the time. Thx guys!

I was using a Line 6 JM4 looper which has great drum sounds (real beats from session drummers not drum machine sounds).... But for me it has too many built-in guitar effects and amp models. It doesn't have separate outputs for guitar and drums. I'd rather have the guitar tones through my amp of choice and the drum sounds through a P.A. or powered monitor. Looking for something to upgrade to. Cheers!

I LOVE my Ditto+ pedal! But I really, really want a stereo version, maybe with more storage or SD card slot.
This was the third looper I tried, after the Donner Circle and Boss RC-10. Hated the Boss. So slow and clunky to use. The Donner was quite good, especially for the price, but I wanted USB access and that wasn't available with Linux.

Are there any loop pedals that support ableton link to keep everything in time with other apps/musicians?

Develop your time and your pocket - get a ditto+ and slap it on the end of your board. Record your noodlings on your phone, then listen back and ANALYSE your playing, objectively. Progress will be achieved!

My 1st “looper” was called a Boomerang. Big as a Rolls Royce dash board. Well be fore CZcams & backing tracks. #1 practice tool.

What is the best looper pedal with drum tracks?

Thanks for the video. Pete mentions in the video that he wouldn’t put the looper in the fx loop, just have it at the end of the chain. I usually have mine in fx loop, what the reason he doesn’t like the pedal in the loop?
    Thanks again

      Pete just doesn’t like FX loops…. I think it’s a superstition thing 😂

I’m a newbie and know diddly squat about this…but I think I will go for a ditto+ as I like the ability to add drums and the overall functionality! Thanks for the great video…Can anyone tell me the guitar Pete is using?

Drums are great for getting your rythm right, but you can use an external metronome just as easily

Tried to looper but my timing is so off at the start I sold them! Deceptively tricky to get a uninterrupted loop.
