When will this be available in the US? Awesome new looper.
The Boomerang Phrase Sampler does an extended loop mode, and it works exactly like the Ditto + except instead of relying on the foot switch input for overdub timing, it will wait for a foot switch input and then cue up the overdub to start or stop at the top of the master loop. That way the overdub track always starts and stops when the master loop starts and stops. Maybe that's possible to tweak in a software update?
Andertons Music Co Quick question for anyone that can help, just bought a performer tele today and when I got home I noticed a popping noise when touching the open strings and volume and tone knob. I’ve researched quite a bit but it sound more like a ground issue or static???? Any help would be much appreciated.
@@jwake2372 Same problem with my Baja Tele. Grounding issue I think. Solved mine by banging on the pick guard until it stopped. Neanderthal approach - sometimes it works.

Exactly!! One comment said "thanks for running through the Ditto" Only thing they did was run their mouths and glossed over some major functions of the device.
The extended mode is what sells this device. It works fine for me after the update.
"5% of users will use the extended looper mode" - that is the single greatest reason to buy the pedal! My £40 Donner looper does the import and export bits already for under half the price and with a much smaller power draw. The extended loop feature being broken is unacceptable and a huge deal breaker. This product shouldn't be released in it's current form.
That being said, i commend Andertons for being upfront about it and not just shilling TC like other channels might.

@@stuartmoffat1754 I wish I had waited before ordering mine but I believed what Andertons wrote here and ordered one (not from Andertons because Andertons don't have them in stock). Mine still has the bug and there's no new firmware as of 5 September 2020. Andertons write: "TC Electronic has since released an update for the Ditto+ fixing the features highlighted in this video" but this is BS. I don't know who is being dishonest here, TC or Andertons, but I guess that it's TC and that they have shafted Andertons. No music retailer wants to be caught lying to its customers.

I play just with a drummer and I started with the Ditto,then the Ditto Jam X2 looper, and now I pre-ordered this because of the extended looper feature that you felt only 5% of the people will use. I use the ditto to jam with a drummer so this feature will be fabulous! Can't wait to be able to save some of those tracks as well. Was a bit bummed to hear that delay on the loop around. Their demo on their channel didn't show that.

You guys are so fast to test the new products, I just received the TC newsletter !!! I own two TC products and find them great : original Ditto and Nova System. Keep on testing in that way (including issues). PS : I also like the San Pellegrino Lemon.
For solo acoustic pub gigs, the ability to create and save backing tracks at home is amazing. Looking forward to getting mine.

Love my Ditto - it definitely improves my guitar playing, and its always fun. I could get quite a bit of use out of the extend loop feature, so might consider an upgrade. As for using it for backing tracks - not sure I would want them playing through my guitar amp.

I was thinking if you’re in the extended loop mode on the last bar (to end your recording) you can “count 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and 1”…then what you do is step & hold on the “and” then release on the “1”…

Those track files in the folders is genius.
Go back to the 90's there was the Paradis Looping Delay, later the Oberheim and Gibson Echoplex (who buyed the licence to build and develop it further). All this 19" Rack loopers had the «Multiply» function wich the Ditto plus does now. I was waiting for this for decades. Now I can retire my Paradis Looping Delay.
Wow... Just wow. Just bought the ditto mini so thanks TC. We also just did their entire Drive range of pedals in a review but this is giving us some serious unwanted GAS. Pete Honore you produced some super tasty loops. The Captain and Pete have some excellent on screen chemistry.

According to their website, to end an extended loop you can press the button at any time within the last repeat of the short/original loop and it will automatically cut it to the right moment.
The 99 backing tracks & extended loop feature in the X2 model would have been awesome!
The built-in looper on the Peavey Sanpera pedal (multi pedal for the Vypyr amps) did the same thing, started recording on disengage. But it didn't have the issue of holding the button causing a delete so you could hold the pedal for a couple seconds beforehand and time a release with the 1. Took some getting used to but eventually your brain makes sense of it.

After wanting the ditto for so long but wanting to store them. I said I’ll just get the rc-10r which should be coming in today or tomorrow. Now I wake up to finding out this. All I had to wait was a day. Well hopefully the boss pedal lives up to expectation

I had an ehx 360 looper and it did that gap when the loop ended all the time. Sold it very quick :)
Posted on the Tc Electronic Forum, and one of their representatives replied that they've already issued a software update that has sorted the problem and have sent the new update to Andertons as well!

Great playing guys. I have the TC Voicelive 3 and it has a similar feature that lets you add a longer loop over a short one which repeats to fill the gap. It doesn’t have the glitch issue. If the feature doesn’t work properly on the ditto+ then it shouldn’t be on there at all. I hope TC are not going to go downhill on quality now that behringer have taken them over.

I was considering a Boss RC-5 in the future when the funds are available. Then, I saw a used RC-10R for the same price, but no funds yet. Then, I came across the Ditto Plus, which has much of the same functionality as the RC-5, but lower price because it only has 60 minutes vs 13 hours of loop time and no integrated drum machine. That's fine because I'm sure I could make my own drum tracks on my Roland drums if decide I really want them. But then, I watched this video and saw it has Pong built-in. Well, that just settles it. This looper is a must have! I can't wait to have some disposable funds to buy one.

Great additions, especially 24 bit recording, hopefully they will rerelease the X4 with these extra functions too. Shame they didn’t do what they have done with the wiretap riff recorder though and have a dedicated app for recordings. The plugging in a USB seems a bit old and it’s surprising how much of a barrier that is!
I know this is a while back but I'm really disappointed that Pete Exotic hasn't stuck as a name. Imagine the merch potential.

Good honest review
I own this pedal. And it's the first piece of music gear that doesn't have a user manual. So just a warning to prospective buyers out there: the unit ships with a small pamphlet that tells you to download the full manual on their website. It's not there. I emailed tech support and they told me it hasn't been created yet.

Lee, the Boss my RC3 has an option for altering its factory setting and making the recording start on the tap, not the release. So it isn't an unknown problem in the manufacturing world. TC must have a way of figuring it out. I altered mine but would up restoring it to factory setting because I'd gotten used to it.

To update your DITTO+ firmware
• Power off pedal
• Plug in USB between pedal and computer
• Press and hold the foot switch whilst powering on the product
• Display should show "boot mode" and the currently installed firmware version number
• Run the downloaded firmware update
You can verify the install worked by going back to boot mode and then checking if the version number is as expected (Step 1 to 4 above).
Part of the changelog (fix for the two bugs mentioned in the video):
• improved footswitch control for better timing
• Spotlight issue fixed. You can now import audio tracks using Mac
You need both power and USB to connect to PC/Mac

It works the same way the Zoom;s G3x loop, buy is smaller! amazing!

Then shows that the extended loop function is absolutely broken. They should not release it like that. I try not to be negative because sometimes things are not for me, but that hiccup is terrible and makes a new function disfunctional.
Edit: wanted to mention that the Hall of Fame and Trinity reverbs are two of my favorite pedals ever. I use them all the time, and I dig a lot of their pedals.
It's better that they have it on there imo, it's the first pedal to do that functionality that I'm aware of, cut them some slack. Hopefully it will get fixed in a update.
Ebadd9 The concept is great, but I’m honestly not sure what the extended loop function is for in it’s current state. It feels like they would have been better hiding that function until it’s fixed because if it’s released as-is they’re going to get a lot of returns.
@@Ebadd9 The Aeros looper does that functionality and way more (in stereo), has midi beat sync and internal clocking, etc, and is pretty much the be all, end all looper (at a high price for sure) But for serious loopers out there who want stereo looping with the option of studio quality audio, the Aeros is currently the king of loopers in my opinion.
After watching TC Electronic's official demo of this pedal, I think Andertons was doing it incorrectly. Yes, clicking on the 1 will cause a "hiccup". But apparently you can queue a stop by tapping the button any time during the repeating loop, and it will automatically stop at the end of the loop on beat 1.

This function, though it had a rocky start can really help musicians create songs. We just need additional control over different parts at different timings. Remove, edit, replace, overdub, that sorta thing
