So glad and grateful for the younger generation that is discovering ABBA!
I find almost all of ABBA`s songs/lyrics are personal. Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Annifrid are all humble, nice,
honest and decent human beings; down to earth people.

They are just like anybody else, with all of their flaws,
traumas, embarrassments, difficulties etc. They know that, and they do not put
themselves over anybody else. In addition, they are even generous with sharing
those painful experiences with us, so that we have the opportunity to feel our
own pain - and heal it. They also share their joy and happiness with us; all their
precious feelings. That is why their music touches all of us, young as old and
everyone in between. That makes their music so GREAT, and SPECIAL. I think. What do you think?
In addition, all about ABBA is natural. They could easily have artificially “fixed” the ladies “older” voices
and other things, but they refrained from doing so. Their music it is genuine right through
As far as I know, no other band is doing the same today; the temptation is too big to fix
almost everything to perfection. ABBAs music is therefore REAL MUSIC. Today it
is unusual, which makes them so BIG!

Thanks for the ABBA. Benny said the girls came to the studio and he played the songs on piano for them. They immediately started working out the harmonies and hooks. Then he said when they sang together out came ABBA. Bjorn said how lucky the guy's were to have them again. They bring a professional and a maturity breath of knowledge that's unmatched and he'd forgotten. You don't have to worry about it, you give them the song and they deliver. Nice to hear the guys praise them. Both girls deserve more love than we can ever give them. And it's really nice to see everything seems happy again in ABBALAND.

And, of course, the sound of their voices, the harmonies. Absolutely fantastic. The timing could not be any better. This is what we needed. And to know there`s an album coming..

  • @andrewmcp7563
    @andrewmcp7563 Před 2 lety +36

"They haven't changed, but in a good way". Indeed! Part of me worries that the reason I'm here -- searching CZcams to find folk genuinely sharing my enjoyment of the new music -- is simply nostalgia. I'm trying to recapture my distant hormonal teenage self and all the hope and enthusiasm that goes with being young; with them being young too; with the world being a simpler place with only homework, nuclear holocaust and the miners' strike to worry about.
But the lyrics to 'I Still Have Faith In You' grab that nostalgia, say "come on in, put your feet up, you'll fit right in!" and then proceed to wring your emotions dry. They wring /my/ emotions dry anyway... or at least try to, which explains the snotty nose and dust in my eye.
I wasn't so taken with 'Don't Shut Me Down' at first... when the music switches up I got distracted by the synthy sax sound which sounds a bit... well, I guess it harks back to simpler musical times too. But the vocals, lyrics and tempo soon settled my doubts. I'm also inclined to think that the ex-lover up on the second floor isn't necessarily a partner, or -- symbolically -- the rest of the band, it's us, the audience. The nerves they must have felt before embarking on this epic (feels epic right now!) return seem reflected in both songs.
Anyway, I'm waffling digital noise into the internet again about a band I have no claim to being a huge fan of. I'm no more a fan of Abba than I am of granite or limestone... they are simply part -- a wonderful, enriching, unique part -- of the cultural bedrock that's been there all my life. And the only thing more shocking than how good these tracks are is that I'm sat her gushing on CZcams over bloomin' reaction videos when I should be doing a hundred other things!
I need to have a word with myself. But not until I've pre-ordered the CD, ok? They don't need the money, but I need to indicate how grateful I am.
PS. Thanks for a good reaction video as well. Says the man who used to wonder what the point of reaction videos was. :-)

      @stenekedahl4446 Před 2 lety +6

Agree, the lyrics in in both songs are actually directed to us, their fans. They're really asking us, "do I [still] have it in me", and then telling us that they have faith in us, hoping that we will still appreciate them and their music. Agneta sings that she has changed and matured, and notices that the hall (we, the fans) still looks the same, which she likes. She wonders if we'll ask her to come in, will we accept their comeback. Don't shut me down. Both songs are about themselves, their comeback after 39 years, and their hopes of our acceptance and appreciation.

    🧡 ABBA !
WELCOME BACK ! WELCOME HOME !
After 40 years, ABBA reignites the magic. The dream is still alive.
"I STILL HAVE FAITH IN YOU" - the new ABBA anthem. PLATINUM. Opened on U.S. charts at #9.
"DON'T SHUT ME DOWN" - Everyone back to the dance floor! Also PLATINUM. Opened on U.S. charts at #11.
Genius lyrics, classic vocals, melody, and instrumentals - iconic ABBA. Imagine the album "Voyage" with eight more originals !
Thanks, Rebecca, for the great reactions. And, from a member of the original generation that helped propel ABBA to global stardom, thank you too for being a member of the next generation to carry ABBA forward.
For the love of music, and ABBA - Peace.

I was crying when I first heard ABBA's new songs. And I get the feeling that there might be either a 3rd Mamma Mia sequel, or a musical movie about ABBA success like they did for Queen and Elton John, in the works after this.

One factor that makes ABBA so hard to copy is, I believe, their (especially Benny Andersson´s) background in the Swedish very melodious, harmonious and melancholy folk music. They were bathed in that since a young age. It shines through in everything they do. Nice reaction!
There is more wonderful Swedish music though. Please react to Dirty Loops and beautiful Laleh!

Daughters bought us 2 tickest to ABBA Voyage on 12th January 2023. AMAZING!!!!!
Nobody can tell me that 30 year old ABBA persons weren't singing on the stage in front of me.
Of course they were projections, but these were very carefully coordinated with the stage lighting, so that your brain yells "3D" at you. It is an astonishing show, and I highy recommend it to anyone.
Just a word of warning though. You are told before the show starts, that photogrphy of any kind is not allowed. There are marshalls, and if you're seen with a phone, or some such, you are asked to show your phone gallery. If there are any pictures
or videos of the show, you are asked to leave. If not, you can saty, but the phone goes off.

They have forgiven and made progress. Fans should never shut them down. And this will be the biggest album of 2021/2022. #prediction

ABBA has always been around, but when they did not do a reunion in 92-93 when they were Huge again with the Gold albums nobody thought they would make new Music.. Now. 30:years later it finally happens. Grateful. They will follow up voyage with another album in 2024-2025.
