Until this interview, I never knew such an excellent, intellectual, broadminded & down to earth personality exist among the Meitei community. I thought all Meitei were like Biren Singh & Pramot Singh 😂. Imagine if someone like him was the CM? Things would have been different.
But sadly, Kuki leaders only speak of their community. I haven't come across any Kuki leaders who sympathise with the sufferings of both communities. For them it is only Kukis who are suffering.
Whoever the leader or C.M. is , Kukis have been fighting with all other communities in the NE. Kuki loves fighting, so much that they even fight among each other, wage war against each other.

Complicated. Geo-political considerations aplenty. Biren is the least of the worries of the Modi Govt. Biren as home minister screwed up the security response and mind you both DGP and ADGP of Manipur in the initial phase of the violence were both Kukis. In fact DGP P Doungel was only transferred on June 1 almost a moth after the violence started. Secondly, Biren's program of War on Drugs and War on Forests Encroachment/Illegal Kuki Immigration, pissed the Kuki Militants off and that's when they started looking for a trigger to introduce chaos and it happened with the High Court recommendation for inclusion of the Meiteis in ST. The removal of Biren is not going to happen because I don't think anyone would be against poppy cultivation and illegal immigration. It fact, he also introduced the "Go to the Hills' and 'Go to the Villages' Program, but none of this is talked about. I think the main trigger is the War on Poppy Cultivation as that was THE MAJOR SOURCE of income for the so-called Kuki Narco-Terrorists. Do you think those folks can survive on Rs. 6000 a month since the signing of the SoO agreement in 2008. There is no way they can wage a war against the 'so-called' majority Meiteis with Rs. 6000 in their pockets. They must have deposited that money in a high yielding investment to have so many sophisticated weapons. Think about it. Now, what about the Meiteis? They were not smart enough to invest in some high yielding investment scheme (sarc), therefore they went straight to looting. Look man, the Mandarins in South Block know what is going on and the people in the know knows what is going on.... Be informed....

Biggest Questions Remains unanswered though -1) Why did you comment without listening to the HM statement in the Parliament.2) why did you not know central govt had sent 50000 security forces on top of 20000 state forces. The chief secretaries,and the DGP were replaced by the central govt.The governor also said about the involvement of foreign militants. No Kuki Leader will talk peace, they will talk the words of Militant Group. They will praise Meitei of unbiased view, which they don't practice if it suits their agenda. I have been working with Sir Babloo since his EEPHAM days. He's one of the only few rational Meitei brothers I've ever worked with. It's no surprise he'd called a spade a spade. He's been tirelessly working for all the communities irrespective of their ethnic origins. People like him should be allowed to speak more on sensitive issues in national media, not their comedians like Nishikanth Sapam and Pramoth Singh.
This is the most emotional and overwhelming interview on Karan Thapar show. I am really proud of Babloo who is meetei and has the knowledge without hate for other communities. I hope there are more people like him fro Kuki community also so that they can sit and talk it out and end the ongoing crisis.

Voice of dissent is very less, close to non-existent among the kukis. On one hand I admire their unity. Then I wonder if it's just compliance or inability to form their individual opinions or actual suppression of free-thinkers among their kin.
There are some intelligent people among the kukis. But they are usually among the common folks. Someone who does not have the platform to speak out. We Kukis still need a better political consciousness. There are many good souls and minds who don't speak out.

I am confused now. 1. If we don't keep an accurate account of illigal immigrants coming from Myanmar, how we even arrived to the conclusion that only few arrived. 2. Shouldn't all immigrants belongs General Category ? 3. Are we saying now that there isn't any poppy plantation? 4. Most confusing of all, being in tribal community provides immunity to deforestation.? Babalu is kinda confuse I guess, its not like Meiteis going to hill areas and attacking Kuki villages. Meiteis are being driven off from hills. Babalu could you negotiate first with Kuki to let Meiteis stays in Churachandpur then let's think about how long we let let immigrants stay in Manipur.
What led to this violence in Manipur? Babloo point out exactly it is because of Metei leepun and N.Biren singh. Illegal immigrants from Miyanmar come to settle in Manipur because of their country facing war,as a humanitarian ground we let them settle here, like India did to Millions of Pakistani. When the war ends in their home country they will return and the central govt.could implemented NRC too.
I'm really glad someone like him from the Meitei community spoke up like this. I also URGE my fellow tribesmen to stop all the unnecessary name calling and hatred as well. Remember the saying "Two wrongs do not make a right". If we all actually thought and acted like he did, the situation probably wouldn't have escalated to this extreme extent! They've done unspeakable acts of violence and we ourselves aren't totally innocent either. Do we have illegal immigrant? Yes. Do we have poppy cultivators? Yes. But those are probably less than 1% of the total population. So we must take action openly and methodically as Sir has said in this interview. Taking revenge isn't going to solve anything.

Wow. Interesting! What a soothing conversation. Finally, someone who in the field has done his homework and is thus able to see beyond the fake news and propaganda and interested in a very sensible solution for all. Surprisingly you will not find a single kuki spokesperson who talk about peace, not separate administration. Remember Kim Gangte ,former MP who was abused by her own tribe(kuki) for talking about middle path between meitei and kuki for maintaining a united manipur.

While I understand the fear psychosis among both communities, be it illegal immigration, poppy plantation, land grabbing rumors, etc. I simply cannot fathom the violence attributed to the innocent meitei villagers at torbung on may 3rd, which started this whole conflict. There was never a need for this conflict, so since it was first perpetrated by the Kuki Zo community, they should be the ones to bow down and ask for forgiveness. Instead, a demand for a separate administration only furthers the conflict. Retrospect first before casting aspersions.

The problem is maximum Meitei talks for peace and tries to put the actual problem while Kuki only has one agenda and talks only for separate administration. Peace will not come if it continues like this.
The peace talk is not really possible now as kuki completely lost trust in the Meiteis as our children and women were not spared and were not protected rather given to the Meiteis extremists by the Meira Paibis who were supposedly not just the guardian/community security for just the Meitei but also the security/ protector of women rights...they were supposed to protect all women and children at least from every community but nah they given them to be rape and beaten to death by the meitei extremists....so even if there's peace, it will take years to trust meiteis again, especially the women....no kuki women and children will feel safe even in the presence of meira paibis rather be scared...

CM is the executive head but he works on the advice of the State's highest police official - the DGP. CM doesn't have a private police force who works discreetly in parallel to the state police.

Complicated. Geo-political considerations aplenty. Biren is the least of the worries of the Modi Govt. Biren as home minister screwed up the security response and mind you both DGP and ADGP of Manipur in the initial phase of the violence were both Kukis. In fact DGP P Doungel was only transferred on June 1 almost a moth after the violence started.
Secondly, Biren's program of War on Drugs and War on Forests Encroachment/Illegal Kuki Immigration, pissed the Kuki Militants off and that's when they started looking for a trigger to introduce chaos and it happened with the High Court recommendation for inclusion of the Meiteis in ST.
The removal of Biren is not going to happen because I don't think anyone would be against poppy cultivation and illegal immigration. It fact, he also introduced the "Go to the Hills' and 'Go to the Villages' Program, but none of this is talked about.
I think the main trigger is the War on Poppy Cultivation as that was THE MAJOR SOURCE of income for the so-called Kuki Narco-Terrorists. Do you think those folks can survive on Rs. 6000 a month since the signing of the SoO agreement in 2008. There is no way they can wage a war against the 'so-called' majority Meiteis with Rs. 6000 in their pockets. They must have deposited that money in a high yielding investment to have so many sophisticated weapons. Think about it.
Now, what about the Meiteis? They were not smart enough to invest in some high yielding investment scheme (sarc), therefore they went straight to looting.

I have been working with Sir Babloo since his EEPHAM days. He's one of the only few rational Meitei brothers I've ever worked with. It's no surprise he'd called a spade a spade. He's been tirelessly working for all the communities irrespective of their ethnic origins. People like him should be allowed to speak more on sensitive issues in national media, not their comedians like Nishikanth Sapam and Pramoth Singh.

I'm really glad someone like him from the Meitei community spoke up like this. I also URGE my fellow tribesmen to stop all the unnecessary name calling and hatred as well. Remember the saying "Two wrongs do not make a right". If we all actually thought and acted like he did, the situation probably wouldn't have escalated to this extreme extent!
They've done unspeakable acts of violence and we ourselves aren't totally innocent either. Do we have illegal immigrant? Yes. Do we have poppy cultivators? Yes. But those are probably less than 1% of the total population. So we must take action openly and methodically as Sir has said in this interview. Taking revenge isn't going to solve anything.

Wow. Interesting! What a soothing conversation. Finally, someone who in the field has done his homework and is thus able to see beyond the fake news and propaganda and interested in a very sensible solution for all. Putting humanity first ahead of a particular ethnic interest. This type of conversation is what can bring about peace and a solution acceptable to both sides. I wish voices like his were the majority instead of the miniscule minority.

How I wish our meitei brothers endorse his view. His suggestion for solving the refugees' problems and the present crisis is much more realistic than the moribund Manipur Government.
While I understand the fear psychosis among both communities, be it illegal immigration, poppy plantation, land grabbing rumors, etc. I simply cannot fathom the violence attributed to the innocent meitei villagers at torbung on may 3rd, which started this whole conflict. There was never a need for this conflict, so since it was first perpetrated by the Kuki Zo community, they should be the ones to bow down and ask for forgiveness. Instead, a demand for a separate administration only furthers the conflict. Retrospect first before casting aspersions.

The problem is maximum Meitei talks for peace and tries to put the actual problem while Kuki only has one agenda and talks only for separate administration. Peace will not come if it continues like this.
The peace talk is not really possible now as kuki completely lost trust in the Meiteis as our children and women were not spared and were not protected rather given to the Meiteis extremists by the Meira Paibis who were supposedly not just the guardian/community security for just the Meitei but also the security/ protector of women rights...they were supposed to protect all women and children at least from every community but nah they given them to be rape and beaten to death by the meitei extremists....so even if there's peace, it will take years to trust meiteis again, especially the women....no kuki women and children will feel safe even in the presence of meira paibis rather be scared...

I am a Mizo living in Manipur and Mizoram. What Respected Babloo Loitongbam said and had avoid mentioning are all true. His words were just the tip of the iceberg. CM is the head of state it's his responsibility to maintain law and order n he fail miserably and therefor he should resign as we can see clearly he could not handle his state till now
CM is the executive head but he works on the advice of the State's highest police official - the DGP.
