In an interview which reveals the anguish and sense of injustice felt by a sizeable section of the Meitei people as well as their deep dislike of the Kukis, the Chief of the Meitei Leepun has said that if the government, either in Delhi or in Manipur, does not intervene quickly, “there will be civil war” adding “the Kukis will not be able to defend themselves”. Mr. Pramot Singh made clear this was a warning to both governments.
At one point in the interview, towards the end, when Mr. Pramot Singh is talking about the civil war that would happen if the government does not intervene, he spoke about a 15 kilometre area where, he claimed, the Kukis have set up roadblocks and encroachments, stating bluntly that they would be “wiped out” in that area. Please see this for yourself. I will not say more.
Mr. Pramot Singh, who flew from Imphal to Delhi specifically for this interview, said the Kukis are “outsiders”. He said “they are not part of the family” adding they are “not indigenous to Manipur”. He described them as “tenants” in Manipur.
More importantly, he said that “the majority of Kukis are illegal” although he did not have any facts to back up this claim.

Cross migration of people across the continent is a phenomenon the world over. The problem arose when the international borders were drawn in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Mr. Pramot Singh, I am 43yrs old now as of 6/6/2023. My father (who is now 74 yrs old) was born in Churachandpur and also is a chief in one of the village with 90 houses. My grandmother who passed away last yr 2022 at 104 age was also from that same village in CCPur in which my father is the village chief. I am Kuki. So how can you say I am an illegal immigrants? A Meitei friend of mine told me during College days about 10 years ago in Guwahati, "In Manipur, you have to pay minimum Rs. 5 lakhs for Class IV government job. So i will acquire residential certificate of other state to join Government job" Rs. 5 lakhs was huge back then.

His talking and body language is similar to CM Biren. When a person is scared he is filled with hatred and lost balance fearing even those smaller and weaker than him and talks his minds out threatening with spine chilling, at times. As Simple as that. Pity that he reveals himself and his kinds / community to the outside world. The rest of the sane minds and heart should look for an amicable, sustainable and positive solution suitable and favourable for both sides.
