- In this video I go through the Geometry Regents January 2020, part 1, questions 1-24. I cover many of the topics from high school geometry such as:
similar triangles, parallel lines and transversals, triangle proofs, partitioning line segments, exterior angles theorem, using trig to find a missing side, using trig to find a missing angle, cross sections, Cavalieri's Principle, alternate interior angles, transformations in the coordinate plane.
Here is a link to the practice exam:

need this for tuesday’s regents 🙏
fr bro
good luck tomorrow!
Wrdd broo

Thank you so much, I need this for tomorrow!!
Hi! If anyones wondering, a different way to do question 5 would be to use the SMA formula. First, find the fraction using the ratio. The fraction would be 1/4 becuase you keep the one as the numerator (top #) but add 1 + 3 (the ratio) to get the denonimator (bottom #). Next, you would make a chart for x and y. Under x you would do subtraction (s) 5 - -7 = 12. Then you would do multiplication (m), 12(1/4) = 3. Then you would do addition, -7 + 3 = -4. This is how you find the x-value. To find the y-value you go to your chart under y and do subtraction (s), 3 - -5 = 8. Next do multiplication, 8(1/4) = 2. Finally, do addition, -5 + 2 = -3. This is how you find the y-value. Using this formula your final answer should be the same as in the video: A(-4,-3).
you explain things so well. my hopes are rising i really hope i pass even if it’s the bare minimum 😭😕
I hope your Regents goes well! I know the Regents carries a lot of weight but remember, this is just one test! You preparing this far in advance shows you are a committed student. Being successful is more about the daily grind.

by 17 how do I rotate on my own
I don’t understand “complete the square” and “factoring” someone give me a link to a good vid that explains how and when to use it
Thanks! Can you make a video for the long answers as well?
Sure thing!

@@vinteachesmath ur the goat bro insane
Thank you, I hope I pass this regents but if I get all the 24 multiple choice questions correct than its a 68% on the regents am I correct?
on this test exactly the curve would make it so you would get a 77
@@klpzxyif i get 16 questions correct its a 65% right or like does the curve do something
@@bangedurmom9109 you could search up the curve online for past regents but if you get 16 multiple choice questions right its a 32/80 which curved is a 67
24,18,15,and 5
Good luck guys!
Hope it went well!
Bro i am died
I am died too
Im using this packet to help me study for my retake... I failed the geometry regents so hard
It happens! I am glad to hear that you are right back to studying. Never lose that perseverance!
Why is it 66 for the first one isn’t it supposed to be 114 degrees cz you subtract by 180 I’m confused
The 114 degrees would be the missing angle inside the triangle. You can solve the question by finding that missing angle. However, once your find the angle inside the triangle, the angle we are looking for forms a straight line with that 114 degree angle. So we would do 180 - 114 = 66, giving us the same answer. Your thinking was correct for finding the missing angle of the triangle.
I'm so scared for tomorrow
Me too, shaking rn
We got this ! Good luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Same but we got this guys gl
@@lauthealien is passing 50 percent this year ?
@@khan7032 I think that’s for Algebra 2 idk but I hope so
Bro the test was so easy thank god
How💀? 2-4 was so hard
Actually I gotta admit it was pretty similar but it was not easy at all
I am glad you thought the regents was easy!
I love you
Thanks!
i hate geometry. so confusing
Me too☹️🥶
Fr I'm guessing on that regents
Hang in there! I hope your geometry regents went well, it was tough this year!
So scared I still don’t understand Proofs 100% and the circle unit someoje recommend some videos that fully explain I got REGENTS TMRRWW
Hope your regents went well!
@@vinteachesmath definitely not 😭 imma retake it in august it wasn’t that bad tho
@@Ieatdumbells Don't worry, a lot of kids didn't do well. it was super hard I heard.
For Question 23 why was Angle B = Angle A
i had this same question, did you figure out why?
Cause
theres a specific threorm for it so your supposed to know it from the top of your head
The triangles are similar by AA I'm pretty sure
It's similar, triangle ABD similar to BDC just like their length and think BDC move ccw or it's SAS BD=BD angle D= angle D and then Angle A = angle DBC. So Angle A = angle DBC becuase angle A + angle ABD = 90 just like angle C + angle DBC= 90. For example angle DBC + angle A also equal to 90 because angle A is equal to angle C, it cause SAS shows they are similer :3
I don't get 16
