The purpose of this channel is teach mathematics to people all around the world. I have made over 500 videos in topics ranging from Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus and SAT Math. As I continue to study mathematics, I hope to add more topics in advanced College-Level Mathematics.
About me:
I have a Bachelors in Mathematics and a Masters in Adolescent Education for Mathematics. While pursuing both degrees, I took a total of 17 math classes.
Pursuing a degree in mathematics helped me build confidence and gave me direction in life. I believe that through hard work, anyone can achieve proficiency in this mathematics, and the other subjects as well. However, one needs to be willing to get the same problem wrong 100 times or more before understanding it.

I passed but with a 69... Thanks Vin i don't think i would have passed if i did not watch your livestream on the night before the exam or any of your videos Oh yeah and i think i would've got the last question right(if i got it wrong) but there was like 12 seconds left and it was not adding up so i changed the numbers i remember putting those number but i am not sure if i put them when i was trying to make it add up or before.

update: I PASSED!! thank you so much vin, even though i was distracted with the live comments i really studied ur video after, i sincerely hope both the sides of your pillow are cold😭😭 i got a 73 which is pretty low but i hoped to be in the 70s area plus its higher than what i got on algebra 1. i was stressing SO MUCH but now i can enjoy my summer, again thank you so much vin, ill make sure to actually take the next school year serious and really pay attention to algebra 2 and hope to get in the 90s area 😭🙏
Congratulations on passing! I will look for moderators for next year to keep the live chat under control! Being anxious is part of being a student - especially on test day - but remember, all you have control over is how much time you put in. Also, I think it's awesome that you reflected and set goals for next year. If you keep making those adjustments, a 90+ on the A2 Regents is within reach!

Hang in there, you are so close to passing! With a score like that, you definitely have the potential to pass the exam.

Usually at which grade would kids start learning to do such maths ?
This is appropriate for 9th grade, but some parts of the test students learn in middle school.

I have been working as an electrical engineer for 5 years but want to go back to school to finish my math major after abandoning it for the higher paying degree. I’ve always had a passion for math and teaching but a huge career change in my life is scary. I’m in my 20s so I’m young enough to take that risk but that fear is preventing me from following my passion.
Your background as an engineer would make you an excellent addition to the teaching force. Making that big of a change is very scary. Maybe you can start off tutoring math so you can get a small dose of what the profession is like.

I passed! I took the geometry regents and I got a 74! I couldn’t thank you enough, this was a regents I’ve been so stressed on especially since I failed last year. Update:So I got an 85 on the geometry regents and a 73 on the chemistry regents and I didn’t finish everything on my geometry regents as well as I also got extra time, so it isn’t that good,but I passed though! Still haven’t gone my results for global. Contemplating if I should retake both of the regents in August because the scores are not that great.Anyways Mr Vin,Thank you so much for being so patient with us during the live as I know it was very hard for you to go back and forward between the stream and doing the questions as well as being so interactive with us during it. You really helped by simplifying concepts down very easily for us and taking your time to go step by step through diagrams and option elimination, you definitely helped me pass.

The junior and drives to school probability one was confusing
IKR, I was stuck on that one!
That one was super light. To find out if they were independent, you needed to find the probability of being a junior, then find the probability of a junior GIVEN that they drive. The answers for both did not match up, so the events were NOT independent.
It was not independent
The probability questions can be very tricky! Remember this Abraham Lincoln quote: Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe. For questions like that, you have to spend a lot of time making sense of what is going on. The actual math is simple, but the setup is difficult.
