- Board game The Pillars of the Earth, originally published in 2006 by Mayfair/Kosmos, and reprinted in 2017 by Thames and Kosmos. It's a worker-placement game for 2-4 players, based on the bestselling novel by Ken Follett.
This video is of the base game only, as the expansion is not currently available. If Kosmos announces a reprint of the expansion, I'll do another video covering it. - Hry
Thanks for posting, this is a great explanation and video.
Thank you for the explenation. I have one question: why do you say twice that the maket has three resources for each type (wood/stone/sand) while it seems from the image they are 4 for each type?
That was a mistake on my part. The market starts with 4 of each resource, as shown on the board. Sorry about that!
Thank you for the quick clarification. Just played an intense game won by 1 point against 3 members of my family !
I kept hoping I'd figure out why the tabletop surface looks like it's setup on beige gymnast mats
Hah! I hadn't thought of it that way. The table is a Game Anywhere Table, model GAT-44, from Transforming Designs Inc. It's a "premium" portable gaming table that folds up; hence the seams. The beige cloth is called speed cloth, and is used for gambling tables. Thanks for watching my video!
