  • Is Sarcasm a Crime? Protests Break out in Tunisia after Lawyer Arrested | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Protests broke out in Tunisia over the weekend, after a prominent lawyer and critic of President Kais Saied was arrested. The lawyer, Sonia Dahmani, was forcefully taken from the bar association headquarters in Tunis on Saturday. She was picked up by masked police officers, who also clashed with people at the bar association HQ. She was reportedly arrested for some sarcastic comments she made on a television show last week. She mocked President Kais Saied's conspiracy theory about a plot to have migrants stay in Tunisia permanently. The lawyer's witty retort got her arrested. The people of Tunisia were furious, and took to the streets, demanding that all arrested lawyers, journalists and opposition leaders be released.

There is only one issue , is she just a lawyer or a mouth of some western/American NGO . If spokesperson for foreign governments than president must fight against western malignant influence . Even this report can be presented with only one point of view ..... At the end of the day , president was democratically elected ... Think twice before act
