Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996), known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in uppercase), is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Stavanger, Aurora released her debut EP, Running with the Wolves, in 2015, through Decca Records. Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away". Aurora released her debut studio album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend, in 2016. Aurora is quite a physical performer… it enchants you entirely.
I would recommend her live performances. She sounds better live and truly embodies the music and the story. Hope you keep going with Aurora.

Aurora is a magnificently talented singer, songwriter, musician, producer, dancer, artist, actor, and storyteller. This is immediately obvious no matter which performance you see first. She is also warm, kind, humble, funny, beautiful, and highly intelligent. Her confidence in her gifts is extraordinary, especially in a person so young. She is what a fully self-expressed human being looks like. Sadly, they are extremely rare. Being a filmmaker foremost, you might be less interested in her live performances, but I promise you cannot afford to miss them. Murder Song 5-4-3-2-1 live at the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Concert and Through the Eyes of a Child live at Nidarosdomen in 2017 will change your life and are perhaps the best places to go next. Welcome to Aurora’s universe.
You have stumble on pure gold. She is the puriest artist out there in musicland and directly off-spring of mother nature. if you do a film soon think of this woman her very odd and pure artistery make a great actress. look at her in winter bird music video. But she is better live there you get her emotions and expressions one snap further. Great reaction sir!!!

Aurora started playing music and writing songs (in Norwegian) when she was 6, and then in English when she was 9. She is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. Her live performances are extraordinary. She is what you call a true empath, very close to nature and down to earth, highly talented and highly intelligent, always positive and funny. She really does talk to their fans, whom she calls warriors and wierdos. She is an absolute free spirit.
Aurora's movements are partly not rehearsed in her concerts. She is introverted and she shows her feelings through involuntary body movements.
She hates backtracks and, that's why she has a backround singer. Everything about her and her music is real. You get what you see, whether on stage or elsewhere.
The video was literally shot in her backyard in Norway.
Billie Eilish, she started her career because of Aurora. Her song "Runaway" was the trigger.

I like this reaction - thx. She wrote this song when she was 11. She is so great and unique singer and songwriter and also interesting personality. Also she was not trained, her singing/piano playing skills are learned on her own. She is also very expressive (you can see it especially in live performances) and at last in my case she is able to pass this emotions on listener.

There are two versions of "All soft inside" from KEXP. One from 2018 and one from 2019. The 2018 version is definitely the best.
. or pretty much any other song by her or covers. Her covers are insane, God is a woman, her take on Frozen, Cohens Blue raincoat, life on Mars, 80’s Boney M Rasputin, even the fun cooperation wuth the Chemical Brothers and so on … I understand that the covers for NRK P3 are songs chosen by the radio statio and 30/60 minutes oreoeration before singing live!

Aurora’s videos are very creative, but her live performances are so powerful. She is a musical genius who has been writing music since she was 9 years old. Her three performances at the Nobel Peace Prize concert are my some of my favorites. Also her performance at Live at the Current It happened Quiet is masterful.
I really enjoyed your reaction! AURORA is the whole package -- songwriter/singer/performer and also dancer (plus producer and visual artist). Her live performances are incredible! Some have been recommended here by other commenters. Her performances at Nidarosdomen, the 2018 KEXP Concert and the 2019 HAIK Concert are all mesmerizing! To name a few.

I've been juggling work and having a parent in the hospital this week, so seeing this video pop up when I finally got home and checked CZcams was a lovely surprise, and the shoutout was even more so! 🥰 (And unlike most people, you actually pronounced my name correctly! Rhymes with Chevy, not Eevie.) Aurora is like the Luna Lovegood of the music world. Her songs often have a melancholic, dark undertone (check out "It Happened Quiet" as an example), though this one sounds much more upbeat. And yes, "ethereal" and "vulnerable" are perfect words to describe her sound.
I’m not sure if anyone’s recommended it yet but since you liked this I think you’d enjoy her music video for her song ‘the river’. It’s visually stunning!

Great reaction. She has some amazing videos, which are works of art in themselves. Some of them have a lot of "hidden" symbolism, it has been fun to analyze. As you know, she also uses many metaphors in her lyrics.
I have to admit that I prefer her live performances, since she is so emotional. But since you worked with fims, it has been fun to get deep analyzes of her videos.

She is amazing and so emotive, it's a beautiful thing to watch, especially live versions (dance on the moon, exist for love session, little boy in the grass, mahogany session, pretty much anything from KEXP live (especially churchyard, all is soft in side). If you do like the artistic expression of Aurora, here's a few of her OMV's to check out; The River, The Seed, Running With The Wolves, I Went Too Far, Exist For Love, Queendom, Winter Bird... sheesh, ok I could go on, but won't. I think you might really appreciate her artistic vision in all of those, in any case. All that said, her live performances can be astounding, often preferred over her studio versions. If you want to delve in that direction, I'd say start with the HAIK performances, move on to her concert at Nidarosdomen, and just explore from there. From what I've seen, she really is a unique performer, artist, person. Even if you choose not to react to anything else of hers, if you enjoyed this one, I think you'll find the Aurora journey a pleasant trip to take. Be well, and enjoy the day.

Read about her and watch her interviews and her live performances..you will see that she is a completely authentic person . She doesn't care about sucess as far as money goes, she cares about Helping, changing, etc things for thr better. I feel like she is rather Buddha like when yu listen to her speak. She began writing music at a very young age not with the plan of being famous. It's just all about the music. Look further, don't just stop here, she'll leave a mark on yur soul bro, it's what she was created for.

Lately I’m obsessed with her, it’s pretty much all I listen too ( mixed with BTS tbh lol ) her live performances did it for me, there’s a lot more she expreses when she sing live, I recomend it happened quiet, murder song and the seed, my favorite songs of her right now
The word is 'authenticity' I believe. In being authentic she reveals her vulnerability. Even in the way she uses her voice... It's not about breaking records, or maximum power. It's control, and nuance, and precision to rival the best classical musicians I've ever heard. She's absolutely one of a kind. There hasn't been another like her, and I doubt there ever will be.

What's also cool is that this was filmed in the backyard and surrounding forest of her family home. It had to be filmed over a span of weather time so it was really thought out! Aurora is completely involved - always has been - with every aspect of her music and presentation. (And I remember reading somewhere that, for the parts that were filmed in snow in her summer dress, she ended up getting sick, but would not have shortcut any of it. :D
You are in for a grand treat with her music videos. All of them are so tuned to the message of the song and so meticulously made. Aurora is also a dancer, having taken dance in high school. Her videos often incorporate choreographed or free-style dance. She works with a great team of videographers, imo. :)

Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 25 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, her videos are mini-masterpieces as well.

Great reaction- I often say this when I see a great reaction to an Aurora Runaway reaction- I would highly recommend checking out a cover of this by Daneliya Tuleshova- Daneliya Won The Voice Kids- Ukraine at 10. Her blind audition was a cover of Demi Lovato's Stone Cold- She killed it- She has lots of excellent covers, all with her own interpretation. I usually recommend her cover of Shallow, her cover of Runaway by Aurora and her cover of Birdy's Not About Angels is excellent! Regarding her cover of Aurora's Runaway, No one can do what Aurora does, but Daneliya's interpretation is excellent!
