    About the group:
Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996),[2][3] known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in all caps),[4] is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records[5] in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), Running with the Wolves (2015), which contained the sleeper hit "Runaway". Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song "Half the World Away". In addition to her solo work, Aurora has collaborated and co-written songs for other artists including, Icarus, Askjell, Lena, Travis and The Chemical Brothers. She also contributed in soundtracks for several movies and series such as Girls, Frozen II and Wolfwalkers.

Aurora might be channeling (the statue you're thinking of Cedric is)
"Mercury, messenger to the Gods". And that supreme entity
might be sending the message that Aurora is delivering.

Another great message is in Aurora’s song The River (which also has a video). She wrote it because she read about how the pressure for men to suppress their emotions leads to high rates of suicide, and wanted a song to say that it’s okay to express your feelings.

I really appreciate your reactions. With a filmmaker’s eye, you break down videos in ways I really learn from. There are a few vocal coaches I follow but after, with appreciation, seeing some over time and learning about the human voice, the technical is less what I’m interested in . . . And a few folks break down lyrics but mostly with their own (and not often enlightening) interpretations. The majority of reactors listen or watch a song and say little or nothing except whether they liked it. The amount of their subscribers are dependent on their personalities. I really don’t have time to vet CZcams . . . though I will still randomly check out reactions to new songs/musicians or if not new, ones I don’t know about, to see why they are so popular. I’ve got several decades on you and my peers are so resistant to anything new no matter the genre. Meanwhile, you are a great combination: delightful and very informative. Thank you.

Great reaction. She's just a really pure performer, and I think the only reason she can express herself so effectively is that the vampiric money-obsessed music industry never sunk its fangs into her since she's from little Norway and is a bit weird and quirky. Wonderfully so, though. I think that's why people glom onto her.

Interesting fact, Aurora started to perform 'The Seed' live, long before the mv was released and also long before it was released on the album. In fact she performed the song for the first time live early 2018, about half a year before Greta did her very first school strike in Stockholm. So who knows, did Aurora inspire Greta?

Yes, Aurora is very passionate about nature and our earth. She did a concert in the forest next to where she grew up on "Earth Day" She talked about the forest being a very special place for her and how she spent so much time in it. She added that it was the only place where nothing was ever asked of you...The concert was called "Haik" I believe and she had a great surprise during it. There are actually 2 video's the one with the all male chorus is the one that I am referring to.
Aurora doesn't act or really perform..at least that is my belief. From everything that I have seen from her...a lot of her interviews as well....Aurora just is the way that you see. What you see comes from the depths of her. I may be naive but I don't even know of anybody that just turned 25 and started writing music at 6...like and when she mastered English she put lyrics to the music and..Runaway was born as well as Running with wolves, written be a 10 year old. People that went to school with her said that she really was different in school... My point is a person can be "made" to be really intelligent partly because the aptitude and exposure to being able to get an education...a genius..is a genius. They make their own paths. I believe Aurora is more on that level. I used to act and I thought that I had an aptitude to a certain degree. I could dig deep into my past/childhood and get in touch with all kinds of feelings. In some readings people would physically react. I'm not trying to pat myself on the back or anything...my dancing was the same way. I just could feel whatever I did organically. Obviously Aurora is light years ahead of just about anybody that I know of.
Aurora's brilliance was something that she was born with and of course seeing all that she can do proves it, ...singing, composing, musician, using frequencies, interpretive dancing, being able to immerse herself into whatever she is doing....her interviews really illustrate that she is a phenomenon.
I love her. I make a point of listening to her since I discovered her. She gives my mind peace and positivity. I see a genuine gift that has been given to this crazy messed up "entertainment" world that we now have. Aurora is who she is and from what I see, no one will be able to change her. People can learn not to be afraid to reach down into themselves because that is where they will find what they have filed away.
I hope that you continue to play her songs/music on a regular basis. She can be humorous and lighthearted too. Even those can give messages.

  • @leavemealoneimjustfreespirted

She's literally singing/speaking/moving as a direct message to ALL of us. Coming from and through her but it's delivery is straight from mother earth.

Catching up on all your past Aurora videos. :)
    Given your style...the things you're drawn to and notice and have keen insights on...there's a few Aurora videos you should really check out. One big one...is "A Different Kind of Human" @ The Somewhere Else Festival. It wasn't a festival per se, it was filmed on a set during the pandemic. It's THE best example of Aurora's...empathy, visually expressed. As for music videos, "I Went Too Far" has a bunch of really cool symbolism, her performance is super emotive, and it was beautifully filmed in Iceland and the aesthetic vibe is SO Scandinavian. "The River" is also a classic Aurora video in terms of representing a very ineffable emotional idea in visual language. Would love to see you do any, or all(!), of those. :}

@@CedricGegel1 Awesome! Looking forward to it. 😁 Just subbed...I really like your style of reaction/analysis. Tho I think the thing I appreciate most about your videos is how perceptive you are. Aurora was actually asked once what her last favorite trait in people is, and her answer was: obliviousness. Me too. And I like that you're the opposite of that. You pay attention and notice the nuances that most people overlook entirely.

I had the same experience as you with walking on the shoreline of a small harbour in my small province in eastern Canada. As a child I used to walk there with my late father and siblings and later with close friends to soak in the calming atmosphere of the lapping water and nature sounds. Lately there are numerous cottages built right along the shore line and it tears my heart out to see how it mars the peacefulness of that area, I almost cried the last time I was there.

The statue you are thinking of is The Winged Victory, I believe. My only caution with Aurora is Yo not over think her dancing. She is a trained dancer, and so moves with power and grace, but from what I’ve heard her say, she is totally “in the feels” with the music…totally unselfconscious, and in the moment…she goes where the music takes her. I could be wrong and her movements could be choreographed, but I dont think so. Not in general.
