Well this video is truly epic, the quality is excellent as are the edits, the outstanding acting skills of Sharon Gabet playing the devastating Raven and Larkin Malloy as the charismatic and devilish Schuylar Whitney, what I find very compelling is the numerous scenes in which the eyes and expression Raven gives says more than the spoken word.
Thank you Mrs. Sharon Rose Gabet for sharing these WONDERFUL episodes of THE EDGE OF NIGHT soap opera that appeared here in Los Angeles, CA weekdays at 3:00pm in the afternoon. I remember RUSHING home just to catch the last few minutes and trying to piece together what was happening. I began my morning thinking of the OLD tunes of the soap operas I grew up to. CZcams was my place to go and I found a collection of tunes as the years past for some soaps I knew and some I didn’t. The last one to be played was the EDGE OF NIGHT, but I wasn’t satisfied with the visuals because I wanted to see the images where the music at the end changes tunes and the screen shows different images of the character RAVEN and they color her face RED and up pops the image of the city with the logo THE EDGE OF NIGHT. That was back in 1981-1983 and I just LOVED the drama on the show and I just LOVED me some RAVEN. Coming across these VINTAGE episodes of THE EDGE OF NIGHT with particularly RAVEN is a TREASURE. Then upon reading your profile here on CZcams for this collection and it said, “ my time on Daytime TV in the 80s”, I told myself NO! I look your profile name on Wikipedia and my HEART drop. Sorry for the LOONNNGGGG essay. I just wanna say, “ THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES AND FOR SHARING THESE GEMS”. You had a lot of classy actors and actresses to work with, but to me, YOU WERE IN A CLASS ALL OF YOUR OWN! I feel like that high school kid running home to watch THE EDGE OF NIGHT. I'm so happy to have this story available again. The best daytime couple ever. Started watching at about five years old and watched until the end. So heartbroken to have learned of Larkin's passing. Thank you so much for posting this and bringing back such wonderful and happy memories, Ms Gabet. Your "Raven" will always be my first crush! 😉
Thank you posting these Ms Gabet. I didn't discover The Edge until 1982 and I completely missed out the brilliant Jefferson Brown story. Also I loved your portrayals of Raven and Brittany. Thank you for entertaining me with your honest and sincere portrayals of two very different but very human and flawed characters.
Sharon, I just wanted to thank you for uploading these. The first time I caught Edge was on USA back in '85 and the first storyline was the Jeff Brown story. I was drawn in by not only the story, but the amazing chemistry between you and Larkin. You guys were perfect together. Thank you so much for posting, and please post any outtakes or anything else you may have for us Edge fans.
The pleasure is mine. I've enjoyed visiting my special time on The Edge of Night as much as anyone else. Larkin and I did have an extraordinary chemistry. I miss him every day.
What i'm struck by watching these episodes, is not just the quality of the writing, but also that quality of the acting, so missing from TV today. The range that people had. it seems nowadays, all it takes is to be pleasing to the eye. These shows were wonderful acting laboratories where professionals of all levels could work their craft.
i have fond memories of this show, before there was such a thing as vcr record timers when i was a little kid, my late mom would have me record this show after school for her when she was at work and we would watch together at night, i ended up a big fan of show along with my gijoe and transformers cartoons back then, lol. good memories.

Sharon. My God I remember " hating" Raven when she got in the way of Logan and Winters relationship. I was a true Winter Austin fan ( shame about her ending and demise ) BUT when Raven saved April's life from the clutches of Molly Sherwood, all was forgiven!! Lol. Raven standing at the top of the stairs during a thunderstorm and the resulting death of Sherwood was one of my favorite scenes from the entire series. You ,( Raven), were " electric"!! I also loved you on Another World and, particularly on One Life To Live. Psst....You are sorely needed on The Young And The Restless!!! That show is starving for someone with pizzazz! You would be perfect!! Thanks for some of my favorite memories as a teen!!
Okay, this is what I do not get about these classic soaps and their "epic love stories." Skylar struck Raven across the face and women that was romantic? this isn't the only soap opera where a man abuses a woman and all the women fans cheer for the couple. It wasn't romantic back then and it isn't today
Not romantic in the LEAST! Larkin hated doing that scene and almost wept when it was over - making sure I was okay. It was supposed to show the evil side of Jeff Brown, not anything romantic. A couple years later Raven belted Sky a good one, and Larkin was like- good. You owed me one.

When Henry made Raven the heroine of the story after all the trash she had done to everyone in Monticello... it changed everything. Brilliant.
