So Moog was afraid of racing with a Lotus, but not afraid of racing with a four-wheel wheelbarrow with a lawnmower motor. Who would thought?
Are you referring to when the Lotus had its suspension completely out of wack?
@@boby3602000 nope. There was an episode where they track prepared their Lotus Exige S240 at the time, with Lotus Specialists. And Moog complained he felt insecure pushing the car to the limits.
@@RogerM88 i suppose there is a difference between 70kph top speed and 150 through corners...
When the car has more capability than what you can drive you can absolutely see his point
@@llleolllolll there's also a big difference driving hard at corners, with a shorter wheel base and suspension width.

This really has me scratching my head why Kei truck racing hasn't been thought of earlier outside Japan. Absolute mad fun to watch! Best race so far, hands down.

Probably b/c kei trucks aren't really a thing outside of japan...
I mean, the USA / AUS both have large spaces for big trucks, europe likes the small normal trucks...
Only the high density cities / places like Japan really have a use for kei trucks specifically.
@@macattack123mattc3 I'm just saying it never even crossed my mind. Importing lots of kei trucks to destroy in races probably isn't the most cost effective thing to do if you have to import every spare part too . So that's a fair point why it isn't being done here, yeah.

Roll cages and body-on-frame construction probably can't coexist in a kei-sized package without precluding ausmericapean-sized drivers...

Best race ever. The whole thing was a power through the straights vs light weight through the corners battle. Zero boring moments.
Sitting next to the Kei tipper you realise just how small the Midget is 😊. Let battle commence. Moog, if you buy another Midget you would have a pair of roller skates 🤣🤣

Marty was definitely sandbagging. Look at his cornering. On certain corners he wasn't sticking to the inside when he had the lead. He let Moog pass.

Man, I was grinning ear to ear for that whole race! Probably one of the best races you've ever done. Just so close, a bit sketchy, but slow enough that it probably wasn't too dangerous.

Possibly, but it would really screw up the weight balance. Aero basically doesn't work under 100kmh..

Ever since I first laid eyes on the Daihatsu Midget many, many years ago, I had a burning question in my mind. Could this be the slowest truck in the world? That question is now answered, thank you Mighty Car Mods for having the courage to tackle the most important issues in the automotive world.
Depends how far back in history you go. Remember this is the midget II, the original midget from 50 years ago only had 3 wheels and far less power.

I despise 3 wheeled vehicles with one wheel at the front, it's a recipe for dramatic unrecoverable oversteer or falling over.
The most complimentary thing I can say is at least it's not an actual tricycle with a big fully stressed hinge trying to resist snapping off or binding from the twisting forces when cornering.
This is unironiclly the best race I've ever watched. It's incredible how well matched they are in pace on that track.

Really felt like Marty was letting the Midget through to keep it interesting.
Nope, I thought I had him easy when we took off but then he just kept upping his corner speed where I would understeer then spin the inside wheel trying to power out. Was really close.
It's quite difficult to explain to my wife what I'm watching when all she hears is a bloke shouting come on miiiiiidget. Best race you've had hands down, top class!
I wasn’t expecting that! I was actually anxious watching this on the edge of my seat with no idea who was going to win! That was such a fun watch, I love you guys haha! One of my favorite series with these little kei trucks!

I think it’s important to remember that beating your opponent when they’re at their best is much more impactful than the contrary.
