What came first.... the hammer...or.... the hammer???
I would love to see you guys feature more honest hard-working locals like this.
Glorify this type of work!
you can drive to your local hardware store to buy a hammer WE GET IT. lollll
Really enjoy these videos that aren’t necessarily just building cars, but experiences related to your work. And just watching you guys do random stuff.
19:02 but that means I need a hammer to make a hammer
"That's a fridge, that keeps the beer cold" - What a legend.
So you can get hammered after you've spent all day pounding your hammer.
Agree i strait started laughing
The best part..hits that line and moves on. Like its a normal question.
If you apply to a proper back woods auto shop and it don't have a beer fridge, your in the wrong shop
“I hear unicorn piss is the best”
Dude watches MCM, you can tell 😂
That timing on the single "no" by Marty at 2:52 is the essence of his comedic talent.
On this episode of Mighty No Mods we forge a hammer. 😂 I love that you guys keep me guessing after all these years.
What to do mean 'No Mods' they clearly Modified some round steel into a hammer head 👍
Modding metal
So unexpected. I’m reminiscing about when I made a hammer as a school project. Very enjoyable.
Hey, they modded a truck axle into some hammers. :)
Mighty rod mods
I hope the feedback and response to this video is super positive. Sometimes when channels go outside their standard format there is a vocal minority that complain.
I personally really enjoyed this and am grateful that you took your positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn new skills and make stuff on visit to a new place.
I feel like MCM is becoming (maybe has been for ages) a bastion of healthy masculinity. Keep it up fellas.
Guys I'm sorry for being male. Please get vaccinated BTW 🙏

It didn't click until after a bit of googling but Corin is probably the most influential person in the Aussie knifemaking community. Gameco is massive!

Watching Corin flinch when Marty clapped the hammer faces together reassured me he had been watching them closely all day.
The dude is trying to be serious and Moog is just killing him with jokes. Too good. Thanks for the interesting video!
I just have a serious resting face.
"This is a fridge, it keeps the beer cold" love this guy
Loved this. His face at the end when Marty clanked his hammer against moogs 🤣 it's frowned upon to do that LMAO. LOVE IT
Is it like a superstitious type of thing? I can't imagine you're going to do any damage with a light tap like that
19:46
@@drift_ronin2358 Where they are both hardened steel there is a chance of them chipping.Had to go to the ER once to have a chunk removed from my wrist from hitting two hammers together removing a pin.I packed that little piece of steel around for a long time to remind me not to do stupid stuff like that anymore lol.
No, there is zero chance of dangerous shrapnel from a small tap like this. Using a hammer like this as a drift to do something like: drive a large pin, yeah, dangerous and ill-advised. But, if you think tapping hammers like this is dangerous, I don't think you should be trusted to operate a hammer.
Mighty Car Mods, the only car related channel that show us non related car stuff and still make it super interesting to watch. Don't hesitate to do more of these stuff ✌️
This was an absolute joy to watch, something different yes but just fantastic!
Thank you MCM
xXx
Now this is excellent content!
“That’s a fridge, it keeps the beer cold.”
That quote and walking around the workshop in a pair of thongs is the most Aussie thing you’ll see today 😂😂😂👌🏽
I love watching @alecsteele forging this is rad seeing this crossover out of nowhere! Thanks mcm!
@@beard-bear-420 thank you autocorrect got me 😩
@Little Timmy I edited my comment, my phone autocorrected Alec to Alex, he was not trolling me 😛
When I saw the thumbnail, I though this was an installment from Alec Steele! LOL Well done boys! Loving the variety!
Love the look on the Guys face when Moog and Marty hit the two hammer 🔨 heads together like a high five lol Gold
Best tool making channel on the interballs.
For me this video shows you gents could do a video on literally any topic and I'd happily sit and watch it all evening! Congrats.
Super import messaging as well about the importance of the experience itself. Something we should all be taking note of.
Even if they're not under a car they manage to get their innuendo in. Legends!
this was amazing, turns out i can watch you guys do anything and be entertained. sort of like watching the top gear guys. i can watch even if its not car related. maybe go learn how to grow some crops, agriculture in the fields.. the way we give more respect to those who put food out to the world.. stay healthy, stay blessed gentlemen.
Would have loved to have seen the train set.
I had the same feeling. If a man like this has a train set you know he’s not using mega blocks. Need to see this train set.
Mighty Train Mods.

another vote for the train set!
Haha, love that fact that the fridge is in the middle of the shop. What a legend!
Corin is a proper funny bloke. Had me in stitches talking about unicorn juice 😂
Dudes face when Marty hit Moogs hammer with his hammer 😂😂
Absolute dream shop, love the mcm guys shining some light on other areas of expertise. Chears Corin for keeping with an old trade 🤙
Picton Bunnings. As soon as you said Picton I knew Corin was the man.
As someone who watches Forged in Fire and other forging videos on YT, I love the fact that Marty and Moog stepped out of their comfort zone on this one. I'd give this video a hundred thumbs up if I could. Fair play gents.
My two passions coming together. Wild. Never thought i would see mighty mods in corins shop.
Neither did I. It was a fun day though
Corin and the MCM boys need to collab more often the guys an "absolute ripper" the whole unicorn piss bit was hilarious!! Obviously knows his trade/craft and could help the boys with tools and metal work no doubt! Another awesome video thanks MCM
Tools: yes. Metal work: depends. Blacksmiths generally don't have the skills to work on car panels. Different type of metal working. I happen to have done both (although I'll be the first to admit my sheetmetal working skills are underdeveloped on account of the guys that taught me being more concerned with job protection than actual teaching), so I'm somewhat versed in both. My blacksmith friend who introduced me to knifemaking though, has absolutely zero skills when it comes to car body work. I'm sure he could learn; it's not rocket science, after all. But his blacksmithing skills are not really transferable to sheet metal work.
@@EvenTheDogAgrees so true. If you want a panel to look like your car had a cuddle with a tree, I am your man. However if you want small accurate components made I am pretty good at that.
@@EvenTheDogAgrees there are a few things on Instagram….
@@corinkayaker mate your banter was top notch and the guys seemed to like the fun you had together haha I'm sure they could teach you a thing or two about cars after all they started from nothing and look at them now! Just think further collabs would be great for both your channels and would give us all a good laugh in the process!
@@bencobb7073 I am not scared. Game on as far as I am concerned I have been doing heaps with PaskMakes since we did the Kumiko gates and the kayak builds. He cuts my banter out though cause it would offend too many of his viewers 😂
The best hammer making CZcams channel , I come here for all my hammer making needs.
Glad i'm not the only one that goes down blacksmithing rabbit holes on youtube haha
You guys somehow capture your passion for life in every video you make. This video on making a simple tool is refreshing from your channel's "norm" and I hope you do more of it. It's much better than "How It's Made" on the Discovery channel!

Just came to the comments to say exactly this 😳😂
@@scottkeir1060 the universal double blink of when someone does something stupid 😂
Great video guys.
Bought a Kindling Cracker for my kids. The kids are not big enough yet to swing an Axe around. But hammers are " fine ".
Nice to see other people appreciate old school hand made tools.
Recently started collecting old axes and other metal tools.
Need more alternative content like this, thank you for being comfortable enough to put this on the main channel rather than the side channel
Ive loved the years of car content, but I'm pumped you guys made this video - this is so cool
I’m not done watching this but my god do I love this episode already
You pulled us in with sleek sexy stereos and rims to get us hyped about getting out and using tools, now you're putting the spotlight on the tool. This is quintessential DIY!
I agree with your message 100%. Making things is critical for good mental health. Well done 👍
This was an unexpected crossover. I saw Corin a while ago on a Paskmakes video where he built a kayak from scratch out of wood.
What a lad!
This was recorded before I built the kayak. Pask has finished his now. We are going for a paddle next week! Follow his channel the idea will be up soon

This was a really cool change from the normal content. I've always loved forging. Never done it but it's always intrigued me.
My friend has been a mechanic for 50 years, every day, he uses his great, great grandfather's hammer from the American civil war. It is a similar hammer to this. Interesting to think these MCM hammers could still be in use in 160 years.
"Thats a fridge, that keeps the beer cold." love it
I remember back when Marlow’s started bringing in the cheap hand tools and they’d shatter after giving them a hard time. Now I understand why, this was amazing to watch.
I love these random videos! Definitely fun to see something different!
Never expected my 2 favourite CZcams subjects to combine.
Best blacksmithing channel on CZcams
Marty, Moog, you never fail to entertain. I enjoyed watching it as much as i enjoy you working on cars.

Dudes! I did a college smithing course 28 years ago. Love this.
Dudes face when Marty hit Moogs hammer was priceless
If there is a god we will get to see Moog smack a fender with one of these! 😆 Great job guys, looked like an awesome time!
I am a full time blacksmith in the US in a day I make about 8 hammers .good job showing its not easy that's why we charge 150/200for a hammer depending on the size
What a well spoken gentleman, he took you on a great journey 👌🏽

Well done guys loved this ep. great to see this in many aspects, we need more Australian Built stuff to get this country back to were it should be...
Too right. Support Australian made.
“We’ll be bench pressing that later won’t we Martin?” “No.” 🤣
When I was in secondary school I also made a hammer. I still have it to this day sitting in my toolbox, it never gets used but it's nice to see it.
Cool Video! I really like CZcamsrs who make stuff. Alec Steele is a great blacksmith who I really enjoy watching. The satisfaction you get from making something from scratch and that sense of accomplishment is such a cool feeling. I wish more people these days had the confidence just to give something a go. For me, I’ll try most things and if I fail at it (I try not to get too frustrated…) then at least I learned something for the next time I try it. Anyways 👍🏼
This was some of the most enjoyable stuff you guys have made since the Ford factory visit. Really down to earth.
Best blacksmithing channel on the Internet
Can I also say, I can't wait for the soundtrack to be released. Loved the music along with this!
I see a new channel in the future and here is Moog's opening monologue : Welcome to Mighty Hammer Mods the best hammer forging channel on the inter webs ! :)

"We'll be bench pressing that later Martin?.... NO!".....Nearly peeing myself at that
2 of my favourite things to watch on CZcams, MCM and blacksmithing... dropped just in time for my birthday, how good!
Happy to be of service
I'm so glad this lovely couple is getting some quailty time together! So cute.
My bank card was ready to buy a MCM hammer after just reading the title 😂
Such a cool video, definitely outside the norm but I'm here for it!
Different type of MCM video and you know what, i actually dig it

Great episode! Love making old school tools. Hope you both cherish your hammers and what you learned and shared.

Best blacksmith channel on the internet
As a long time sub of the channel, car mod enthusiast, and part time blacksmith based in the USA (Knifemaker) I approve this video wholeheartedly. Nice work, lads!
I kid you not. Maybe 15 years or so ago my Dad bought a hammer at the dollar store. There was a warning tag on it. Do not strike on hard surfaces. What else am I going to do with a hammer!? Come on China. lmao
It's funny how hard it was for me to wrap my head around phases of iron and heat treatment methods when I was in materials engineering class and in 35 seconds this man just explained the fundamentals in a way anyone can understand. What a legend.
That's probably because they were teaching the "why" when all you need to know is the "what."
(The "why" is quantifiable, which lends itself to relaying specifications for mass production at a remote location, while the "what" is a learned skill.)
@@CountPantsulon I disagree, I think we just needed the lab to take place concurrently instead of weeks later so we could observe and measure the changes in hardness, toughness, and brittle fracture characteristics to make it stick. The point of my comment was just to compliment how clearly and succinctly he explained the process of manipulating the grain structure of metal in a way that was easy to understand even with no context and without holding back technical concepts like the crystaline structre, austenite, martensite, etc.
@@jdselders8010 That's a fair point. I'm familiar with the difficulty one can encounter when there's too much time between theory and practical classes, having encountered that during my apprenticeship program.
I agree that he summed it up beautifully.
Best line ive have heard in a long time..."That's the refrigerator, that keeps the beer cold" 😄👍
A wonderful change of pace. Beautifully filmed, edited, presented, and a perfect soundtrack. Thanks guys! Love to see more of you stepping outside the normal stuff.

“That’s a fridge, that keeps the beer cold” 😂😂😂😂😂
awesome vid guys. i have mad respect for these processes as i worked in a factory that made all sorts of forged hand tools from the age of 15 till my mid 20s, we also did all types of hammers. i love your car vids but also love seeing random vids like this. very cool guys, keep it up.
Many moons ago, I attended a 8 week beginners course in blacksmithing. Loved it som much!
Can't wait to build my own shop in the future...
That bit when water quenching with him helping your arm was so funny haha
I am a blacksmith of 10 years. I have been watching your channel for about as long. This was such a fun fusion of my passion with a CZcams channel I love to watch. Nice hammers guys. I hope you had a great time making them. I have made my own hammers and I agree that it is a super rewarding experience.
Love you gays! I can’t imagine my life without your videos
I love the videography and narration on this channel
I love the look on old mates face when you cheersd the hammers 🔨🙄
So the best blacksmith channel in CZcams, i presume?
Love how he flinched when they tapped the 2 hammer heads together 😂
That was great to watch and learn how things are made. I know we got the fast version and just a summary of how things are done. Thank you for sharing this, it will teach a lot of people the art of blacksmithing.
Only MCM can get me to watch a full 20 minute video on making a Hammer haha. Corin was awesome, keep up the dope work good sir!

What an awesome episode. Keep the surprises coming!
