      Our main char is very hypocrite. You can learn Imperio, use it, and then tell Sebs "I don't care, you used dark magic" even Sebs is like WTF and says something like "But you used it too". In my case, my Hufflepuff (first gameplay) did not learn the curses and still stayed as a loyal friend until the end.

I could call this accidental if there was some regular spell killing the uncle - like, making him fall and hit his head badly. This is the difference between killing a person in a fistfight when unfortunate hit was landed and stabbing the person with the knife - in the latter case you mean to deal maximal, probably lethal harm.

      @Itsmemissb123 yeah but our character interaction with him is kind of wasted...I wish we had a morality system to maybe have our character act differently based on how high or low is, for example, I wish my character was excited when she could learn a new dark curse or want more knowledge, go more on Sebastian's side instead of being good and try to be dark but not really...in this game it feels like the dark path was kind of forced in terms of story, the story might work better for someone good...
      I see great potential in this game, but kind of wasted in terms of story! The story starts of so great and interesting and magical, then at the middle slows down and drags on with the story, then suddenly it ends...and doesn't end in such an unpredictable manner...also your choices didn't change shit in the end, only the last choice matters and even that one I didn't feel anything different...as a HP game it's an 8 maybe 9/10 for me but as a non HP game is a 5/10

Would have made more sense to me if he had cast it as his uncle was destroying the relic, in a split second descision misguided by both anger and desperation. This is one of those decisions where there's no real winner. If Solomon hadn't given up hope and destroyed the relic, Sebastian wouldn't have killed him... but turning him in to Azkaban could mean he's never redeemed or that he suffers a fate worse than death because of the dementors (for one) and because there's also that thing about how everyone who goes to Azkaban is almost never redeemed. On the other hand... I don't want to destroy his relationship with Anne and I don't want him to become a dark wizard.

      There's also the very real possibility he'll go further and further in his quest to "save" anne such as trying to use imperious to force her to make a horcrux so she can never die. Or he'll be taken down by the aurors when they investigate. That's the problem we know Azkaban is bad but we also know he has commited murder of a family member, was trying to control Inferi and who know's what he's been up to that we don't know about. Its not a good choice but it really comes down to turn in someone for breaking the law and hope its the better choice without ever knowing, let him remain free hoping he doesn't continue down his dark path or join him in the dark arts using them on anyone who threatens you. Me I turn him in and feel guilty like I feel guilty about the poacher I'm fairly sure is still a chicken due to my early uses of ancient magic.
      I suppose in the end you have to ask yourself two questions (1) are you also using dark magic and (2) do you think Sebastian will regret his actions and change his path or as in the just grow more angry and hateful at all those he blames.

Secondly, the fact that he probably be sent to Azkaban is enough to convince me to let him go, as they wouldn't do shit to help him and just punish him, leaving him on the road for hatred and anger, becoming the dark wizard we feared. Sebastian is a tragic character, but he does deserve to be reported for his crime. He is the perfect example of "The ends justify the means" and how people will do any heinous deed if they fully believe they're doing the right thing. Unfortunately, the fact he knows all 3 unforgivable curses and willingly uses/teaches them means that he likely won't simply stop using them. Sebastian might grow up, graduate Hogwarts, and even go many years without using those spells again. But he has already proven that when pushed into a corner he will do literally anything but accept that some things are simply out of his own control. His story is almost a parallel for Darth Vader/Anakin when you consider that it all started out of loving someone so dearly that it made them blind to the evil they were willing to commit.
    So you either have to risk basically letting a future (again I love this parallel) Darth Vader walk free by ignoring all the clear warning signs because he is you friend (pulling a Obi-Wan). Or you make that hard choice of turning him over to the authorities. Because while it isn't the easy choice to make, it's arguably the right one.

Still a bad guy anyway.

    • @madeleine5561
      @madeleine5561 Před 11 měsíci +4

      For one thing. It would make me a bloody hypocrite with how much I use them so no there. Secondly. Yeah I'm gonna pull the freaking good intentions card there. In my opinion the dark arts can on occasion be employed to work towards the side of good (harry uses imperio in gringotts). I've always found the idea of good not being allowed to straight up kill foolish when it could eliminate potential issues. I mean as others have pointed out our ancient magic and many other technically non lethal spells can cause equivalent damage over time and yet those are ok? It's ok to collapse a wall on an enemy but shooting them with a bolt of green light to kill instantly is a non starter? Look sebastian is a teen with years of pent up frustration at an uncle that recently has constantly blocked ANY attempt to help his sister dark arts or no, he was already clearly a bit barmy thanks to that relic, and while he did attack first Solomon attacked us his friend and attacked back rather than using defensive spells (as former auror he likely could have done) attacking a 15 year old who had done nothing to him (the MC) kind of limits my sympathy there. Would he have spared us? So in a moment of fury sebastian makes a choice he very clearly comes to regret nearly instantly. Especially with the reaction of his sister. Seb shows genuine remorse for his actions. His sister isn't talking to him anymore so he really no longer has a motivation. He knows he crossed the line and he's not gonna go on a country wide killing spree. Lastly there's no middle ground in the wizarding world and someone like sebastian who made a mistake in a moment of passion, severely regrets it, is still a child, and is not a true risk to society does not deserve to be thrown to the dementors.

      Is it the right choice to condemn your friend to almost literal hell for the rest of his life? It would have been more humane to simply kill him than to send him to Azkaban. In addition, in relation to my uncle, I do not experience any losses at all. He was a disgusting person. And while the game was going on, I was sure until the very end that Solomon was deliberately not allowing Sebastian’s sister to be save, because keeping her in a state could be beneficial for him, in case he receives some benefits for her. That he is very stubbornly opposed to the fact that he is trying to find a cure for her patient, while he sits still. It is very hypocritical for a player who himself uses dark spells to turn his friends into Azkaban. And in general, snitching is a vile business.

    2. Sebastian’s intentions where good, the way he went about doing it blinded him and went as far as killing his uncle but he didn’t mean it, he was just in the moment and people loose their cool when in the heat of things, he even realizes what he did was wrong (shown by him dropping his wand after killing his uncle and his needing to think and rationalize things once we leave the cave thing)

      "Killing his uncle but didn't mean it" - "To use avada kedavra you have to really mean it"
      You contradict your own explanation. You can't kill someone if you don't really really mean it. He tried to rationalize and justify killing him. While i think he shouldn't go to azkaban, he should be expelled from hogwarts and be forbidden to use any sort of magic for lifetime. What he has done is unforgivable, the circumstance wasn't in selfdefense. His uncle just stood there and made him angry.

    • @aroz4631
      @aroz4631 Před rokem +1

      @@Blubbpaule Going into further detail, Yeah, he did mean it but it wasn’t his true intention, like when a kid gets angry with their parents and yells “I HATE YOU!!!” and runs away, a couple hour later they will apologize because “they didn’t mean it” it wasn’t their true intention “they where in the heat of the moment and lost their cool” and everyone does that. Sebastian “lost his cool” when his uncle destroyed the artifact that could have cured Anne and seeing that most likely brought back the memories of his uncle not giving Sebastian a chance, like when he saved his sister from a goblin and his uncle scolded him almost as if he was saying “this is YOUR fault” which probably drove his anger and forced him to kill his uncle. The difference between his true intentions (the one of simply curing Anne) and his intentions at that very moment (his loss of self control) are what I mean by “he didn’t mean it,” of course he meant it (in order to cast Avada Kedavra) but at the same time he didn’t.
      I would have to disagree with your idea regarding his expulsion from Hogwarts and banning him from all sorts of magic. Anne doesn’t want to see Sebastian so it’s not like he can go home, maybe Ominis could let him stay with his family but as Ominis has said “they’re assholes.” Hogwarts is really the only place he has and banning him from magic isn’t really going to stop him from using magic, in fact it’s probably going to force him to be a dark wizard. Imagine, your only friends report you and strip your wand away, now you have nowhere to go with no magic to defend yourself and all of this happened because you wanted to find a cure for your beloved sister but ended up killing your uncle because your emotions got the best of you and you wanted to make amends but instead you’re left all alone in the world with no one but yourself, I could see Sebastian going the bad ending route literally after his uncle was already rejecting him with “you’re your fathers children”. I don’t disagree with your opinion if it was a decision made at that very moment but for Sebastian to move forward I think it’s best if he remains at Hogwarts as it’s the only place he has left and seeing how when Sebastian focuses on one thing he does what ever he can to achieve it, so Sebastian trying to make amends for what he did is something I can se him do and accomplish how ever he chooses to do so. I do believe his sister will also forgive him later on in the future.
      With that being said, I hope I explained myself as I did try to the best of my abilities and I can see if someone think I read too much into it but do keep in mind (for you and others who read this) this was my thought process IF THEY WHERE REAL PEOPLE, thank you for reading this far and remember.

    I feel like turning him in is the most hypocrital thing you can do in the game. You go around Hogwarts killing people , casting unforgibables curses and then you try to be the one with the right morality to turn him in. Besides, if you look at the little deatils of the story, Solomon really abused Sebastian and treated him really bad. If you go to their house in Feldcroft there are signs of his abuse, such as, there is a pillow and a blanket on the shed along with some books that seems to belong to Sebastian, also, there was no bed for Sebastian in the house, so it's pretty obvious Solomon made Sebastian sleep there. Also, he was always blaming him for his father mistakes. Of course Sebastian resent him. I don't think he kill him just because he destroyed the relic, but because he hates him for his constant abuse to him.

I for one definitely believe he was wrong in killing his uncle and should've faced consequences. It would be the best ending if he is turned in but is not sent to Azkaban but rather just goes through the expulsion system where he is expelled from Hogwarts and gets his wand destroyed and is forbidden to ever use magic again, at least officially. Similar to what happened to Hagrid after he got framed and expelled. Though it cracks me up imagining Sebastian becoming a wisened Hagrid-like character in his old age. LOL.

      Saying he never cared about them is the dumbest take I've heard on this subject. The guy who took them into his home, and did everything he could to try to make Anne comfortable even with her condition. He took her to all the professionals they could find, and everyone told them there was nothing that could be done. Then one of them gets the great idea in his little teenager head that he knows better than all the professionals, and that he'd just do it with dark magic. He learned all three unforgivables, and even cast one in front of his ex aurora uncle. The uncle that didn't turn him in for using an unforgivable right in front of him. He tries to tell him that he needs to stop being so obsessive. Sebastians own sister tells him to listen to professionals and give up on finding her a cure. He then decides to shove himself even deeper into dark magic, wakes the dead, and then kills his uncle as thanks for the fact that he didn't end up in an orphanage.

      @@bunglewungle261 I mean I don’t think the uncle is a evil or cruel person for evils sake but he didn’t do everything he tried a few things then gave up and made seb feel like it was his fault his sister was like that but I’m probably biased to seb because I have a sister I would do anything for and if someone banned me from seeing her and gave up on trying to fix what happened I would be desperate two and might of been willing to do the same thing seb thing and then seb found something finally he thought could help and then the uncle who gave up on his sister and made him feel like everything was his fault showed up and destroyed the only thing he found that could help his sis the uncle banned seb from seeing his sick sister that is messed up

    I used him to get the unforgivable curses, used Imperio on Ominous, told him everyone should know Avada Kedavra, and turned him in allowing Anne to have no one and die in pain. I should be in Azkaban :)

    Sebastian has no family, Anne is the last person he considers family left. We all would do anything to try to save a loved one if we had the power to. Sebastian tried and began to fall further into the dark arts. He just wanted to try, he needed the right guidance. I didn’t betray him because I understood and he regretted his decision almost immediately. Anger & determination can cause irrationality.

      killing his uncle was not with the intention of helping his sister, it was revenge for the destruction of the relict. Aferwards, Sebastian said that his uncle deserved it and that he had no choice. That is no instant regret. I was happy to turn him in for what he did

      @@c.m.8972 He says that because of anger and fear, if you remain a loyal friend, he even ask for your forgiveness and say he would like that Professor Weasley did a farewell to his uncle, it's a sad stroy, he was in pain for almost 2 years since her sister got cursed, he tried everything, it is explicit in the game that Sebastian has not been the same for a long time, the fear of losing his twin made him crazy, broken, and his uncle Solomon never helped him, his only family was his sister and the dark arts corrupted him, he is a grey character. Also he is only 15 he was a fool, and he regrets what he did, after Anne burried Solomon, she doesn't want to talk anymore with her twin, I think all the emotions, guilty, losing his sister, regrets, is enough punishment for a kid that had good intentions but he did everything wrong.
      If you turn him in, he goes to Azkaban and gets more bitter, every little hope to restore Anne's mental health and recovery of this trauma is impossible, because with that ending she have no family and she will never know if it was the right choice turn his brother in.

      @ I feel bad for what happened to him and his sister as well, but still, not every behavior is forgivable. His sister understood that, too. If you don't turn him in, who will be the next person he kills because he is hurt, lost all his family and has a past with dark magic? Being a friend to him did not stop him this time and surely it will not stop him next time from losing his temper

      @@c.m.8972I agree. He doesn't know when to stop. Also, he COMPLETELY ignores what his sister want through the whole game. I get that he want to save her, but maybe listen to what she wants? She doesn't want him to go anywhere near the dark arts. That has been said from the beginning. Let's say he manage to save her using the dark arts. Imagine how betrayed Anne feel that someone had to be harmed to cure her. She would hate it and hate him. That's why I can't sympathize with Sebastian. He claim he's doing this all for her, but he completely ignore her input on her own well being.
