They is a couple car review of the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport SUV. The Ford Bronco Sport is a compact utility based on the same platform as the Ford Escape but with a more rigged look, attitude and more capability. The top Badlands Trim has a 2L Ecoboost engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission, 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. It is only available o the top trim. All other trims come with a 1.5L Ecoboost engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission, 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. All trims are AWD. The Badlands has a lifted suspension and upgraded dampers for tackling rugged terrain. The Escape and the Bronco Sport share their drivetrains right down to their infotainment system.Towing capacity for the Bronco is about 2,200 pounds but the Escape is at 3,500. The difference probably comes down to the AWD systems on both. The Escape has a simpler design where as the Bronco is more complex with the advanced 4.4 system with a twin clutch rear drive unit. Bronco buyers are more focused on off road capability than the Escape buyer. They both get a set of drive modes but they are very different. The normal and sport that you see in the Escape transforms into a terrain management system in the Bronco. Washable rubber flooring, easy to clean cloth seats; and even a built in bottle opener on the tailgate. I feel this a family friendly vehicle especially with small children. The bronco is a little shorter than the Escape
Competitors include:
Main Competitor: Goes to the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with a starting price of $37,451. It has the 3.2L Pentastar V6 with a 9 speed automatic transmission with 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque.
Another brand known for AWD capability is Subaru with the Forester. It has a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a starting price of almost $29,000.
The Show Room alternative: goes to the Ford Escape with its clean lines and a more sophisticated exterior to the Bronco Sport. It has a starting price of just over $30,000. Just like the Bronco, it’s available with both the 1.5L 3 cylinder Ecoboost engine as well as, the 2L 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine.
Best Selling Compact Crossover: goes to the Toyota RAV4 AWD. The base model LE trim starts at $30,690. It has 203 horsepower and 184 lb-feet of torque.

I bought the Big Bend 1.5 liter Bronco Sport. So far I am not disappointed with the power or performance of this motor. I am also averaging 29.5 mpg which definitely helps my wallet. I have already put over 3000 miles on my little Bronco and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. It's roomy, stylish, loaded with features and turns a lot of heads. I traded my 2018 Ford Escape Sport edition for this little Bronco and haven't looked back. I wanted the big Bronco but this was much more in my price range. I guess time will tell if I made a wise choice but so far I am very happy.
Can I know pls how’s the car running with you now after an year of having it. I would appreciate it
@@mohamedabdelmagid3684 So far it's been great. It did have to go in for a recall for a possible leaky oil sending unit, but luckily after inspection by the dealership my vehicle didn't have this problem. I love my baby Bronco and after chatting with other Bronco Sport owners they seem to love theirs as well.
@@goochma thank you so much for replying. I really like this car and am thinking of buying one that’s why I was wondering if it has any problems when you have it for like an year or more. Thanks 😊
Hi, what about the noise insulation? Decent I hope?
@@kelkel1959 Not much road noise for sure. A bit of noise on the highway if the windows are cracked open due to it's boxy shape. But I find the cabin to be no louder than most other vehicles I've owned.
Love the in-depth reviews paired with the dorkiness. You guys are awesome and make it look so easy. Keep up the nice work!
Thank you so much, really happy to hear you enjoyed it. YES, definitely dorkiness in this one...lol!
Raiti has "controlled dorkiness".😆
This seems like a really good successor to the first gen escapes 2001-2007. I think after 2007 they went the wrong way with the escape styling but this really brings back everything they missed. I'd love to upgrade my 2005 escape to a bronco sport someday for hatchback camping trips.
It really is a great vehicle, Ford had one kick at the can with this Bronco Sport and they nailed it.
For those who watch from abroad, these two, Andrea and Zack, they are what is a typical Canadian family is. Very nice family and down to earth. Good honest reviews, and not being tipped by the manufacturers. Hope this ford, does well. Smart manufacturing is what Canadians like. Cheers from MTL.
Thanks for that!
Wow, thank you very much, we appreciate the support. :)
They should offer it in some retro colour combinations... white roof, sage green and white steelies! Great review Zach and Andrea! You two are hilarious. Enjoying the new format.
Great review. I really liked the night view, haven’t seen other reviewers do that. I am also color blind and once bought a car after a daytime test drive only to find out when driving at night that the gauges lite up red on black, which was terrible for my type of colorblindness. Very helpful.
Wow, what a great review, I enjoyed it thoroughly, I laughed a lot, you guys are super entertaining and you get all the information out. What an easy review to watch. Andrea you are absolutely stunning! I just love everything you do from Instagram to CZcams, you are killing it out there.
Thank you very much, you are very kind! :)
Finally people who understand what they are re reviewing! I see a lot of people comparing this to other subcompacts in terms of ride and handling. This really only competes with the Jeep products and Subaru buts that about it. Great Review!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it.
Great review, I am 68 years old and bought my Bronco Badlands on 1/1/2021. The more I drive it the more Love It.... Thanks, Ford....
Enjoy!
Thank you for this review!! Love Canadian reviews. I am so close to buying the Big Bend version in Cactus Grey, I can't wait!!!!!
Great review, entertaining, super funny! Love it! Thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. :)
I may say you both did an excellent review of the Bronco Badlands enough to get me excited to order one
Awesome, thank you!
Hey guys thank you for recommending Kim’s Convenience in one of your previous videos ..my wife & I love watching such light hearted comedy shows ...
Thanks and it is such a great show
Thank you, we love it too! This season is so good!
Great review, it’s always good to see you two “ham it up.” The Bronco Sport Badlands does look like the one that will be the desired model, but the price is a bit steep at $45,000 for a compact crossover.
I like this trim the best because it comes with the bigger engine.
That's Canadian.
I looked at a bad lands and it was 37500 US. I have the standard and love it.
We bought a 2021 bronco sport base for just under 29,000. Interior room is great. I stand at 6 foot 10 inches and I weigh in at 310 lbs and I can sit in both the front and back seats with comfort. Easy to get in and out of both front and rear seats. It is very hard for a guy my size to find a vehicle I can get in and out of easy as well as comfortable.
Love your reviews, liking this vehicle...your a lucky man Zack😉
Thanks to you guys, you guys are the best!
You guys crack me up! Great review! For an off-roader - I was waiting for you to say if the spare was a full size or a donut when you pulled the rear cover away.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it.
That 2021 Ford Bronco looking absolutely beautiful 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Truly unbiased review and telling the truth ,
And nice place to drive , mountain and lake are beautiful on video as well
Thank you
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it.
So nice of you
That blue is the way to go, like the AWD offering.
You guys are doing such a great job with your reviews. The baby Bronco review made my day in so many ways. Very informative and really really funny! Thanks for making my days. I hope there is dancing and a picnic in the boot in your future!
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words, really happy to hear it. I will keep trying with the picnic and the dancing, maybe he'll give in. :)
Thanks so much!
Look forward to Saturday mornings with you two. Another great one. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Terrific, thank you!
Great Review!! You guys are Great!! Thank you very Much
I loved my late 80's Bronco II (Although really squirrly on snow and ice when not in 4 wheel drive) I'm gonna stick with my Subaru Outback 3.6R for now, Although I'm considering a Ford Ranger for its towing capacity over the new Bronco line. Enjoyed the review!
I really love your comparisons! Very useful as I'l looking.
Glad it was helpful!
LOVED THIS REVIEW. LOVE THE BANTER!!! Zach - LOVE YOUR TIPS they seem to have worked LOL
Glad you like them!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
You two are great reviewers! Thanks, from Oklahoma.
Thank you so much! - Andrea
Drove the 3 cylinder, felt like a wound up rubber band. Bought the Badlands and couldn't be happier
How is it at highway speeds? I'm wondering how noisy it is with the a/t tires
Love your review. Really well done, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Many reviews of the Baby Bronco out there, but Zack your singing and advise for men starting a new relationship just took the cake 👍Love the new segments too. 💯
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
@@andreaspencer9813 you are a good addition to the reviews and no one else is doing this kind of duo husband amd wife reviews that I'm aware of in Canada. Love your Instagram pics as well. 👍
@@richarddemelo So nice of you to say, I appreciate the support. There are none in Canada and I think a few in the US, but they do it sporadically, not every video like us now. Thank you for following along on Instagram, happy to hear you like all the pictures.
Thank you.
This is basically the newest version of the Bronco II from back in the day. I loved that lil truck. It would go anywhere. If the the 2.9 liter engine wouldn’t blow up.
When I originally watched this video you both got me excited about this small wonder. As I looked into my Sport and drove the 2.0l engine, I bought one last February. I’ve 16,000 miles on it and many of those on dirt roads that border on scary (I’m 69 years old)! So far mileage is better than listed (26/30)! The interior does clean easily and drives nicely in snow (wish we had some to play in right now. I’ve not had any issues with what I think is a real fun, comfortable and sporty.
Anyway, thank you for your thoughts and advice.
Bart Knaphus
Great in-depth review presented in a dorky and pleasant way! Keep it up.
We specialize in dorky
Appreciate if you do a comparison review between EV vs. hybrid. I cant decide if I should buy Tesla Y or Toyota RAV4 hybrid
lol! Thank you, glad you liked it....yes, totally dorky!
Can’t wait to test drive this!
Really nice review. Thank you
Thank you very much, glad you liked it.
Great review, as always. The local Ford dealer where I live had one on the lot for test drives and to sit in but not to buy--first, Ford absolutely knocked it out of the park on styling, and it looks even better in person. Second, it is quite small in person, but Ford did a great job with the interior space. Two big negatives for me: all cars in this price range utilize interior hard plastics to some degree, but I was shocked at how much Ford used, especially on the dash. The door handles were the flimsiest, lightest plastic I have ever felt in any car - they feel like they could break in two at any moment. Second negative: outward visibility is not good compared to say Rav4 or Forester, and a huge blind spot over your right shoulder. When I am ready to buy, I'll test drive it to make a final determination, but it does have a lot to offer if you can live with the cheap plastic and limited visibility.
Thanks for watching!
Well done guys! Thanks for another entertaining review. Well done Ford! I think they’ve nailed it. The larger Bronco looks great, but this new Sport represents their bread and butter. These are for anyone who misses a ‘boxier’, tougher and more practical ... “CUV”. The former boxier Escape was popular enough to warrant variants, such as the Mazda Tribute, a hybrid and the Mercury Mountaineer. People love body CUVs, like the Soul, the past Forester, the Element, Jeeps, those Suzuki Samurai’s and Jimny’s.... lest I mention the G-wagon. Most CUV/SUVs today look too soft or look like their designers are trying to hard. I think Ford has hit a home run. Just like you guys, as a Team... but just not as a singing duo.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. :)
Once again love the honesty, agree with your assessment as always, thank you for doing a Domestic model review, please try and grab the full size Bronco if Ford Marketing lets one out for reviews.
Nice vehicle; thank you for review.
I think many people will have the same reaction: they like it more than they thought they would. Good move on Ford's part. The Escape left me indifferent. This one does not. I actually noticed it just driving by the local Ford dealer. Fun review, thank you both.
Will love to see you guys reviewing the new LR Defender soon. Looks like people love to see these icons coming back
We are getting it in 2 weeks to review!
Great review☺️
Thank you very much! Really glad you enjoyed it!
This is a much nicer vehicle than I thought it was going to be, not sure if it is because it is the top model or what. I would love if you could add what fuel economy you are getting with your reviews as the EPA is best you can do right. It would be nice to know what real world fuel economy your getting in the different vehicles. Thanks and another great review.
Thank you very much!
Good review. It’s definitely an option to put on a small crossover shopping list!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Definitely!
I just subbed. Good stuff and I love car reviews
Thanks for the sub!
Welcome aboard, happy you subbed, thank you.
You guys are entertainment !
Great review guys ! Saw one on the road the other day and looks very “Land Rover Freelander”from the side .. and a little Defender’ish from the rear 3/4 view.
Good call!
Thanks so much for watching!
very informative thx you...
Thanks for watching!
So how much bigger is the regular Bronco? Length wise. And if you were to buy a regular Bronco which one is best for just non off road driving? Thanks great video!
I like this format much more.. Fun is always good
Awesome, thank you!
A great review guys. I wish we could buy this Bronco in the UK, even the 1.5 would be enough. I can dream :-)
I know, it's too bad, it's a great utility. I really like the cool vibe of this one.
@@andreaspencer9813 It's a shame as, like everywhere else, SUVs sell very well in Europe. This is a Ford I would buy on looks alone. :-)
Love the new musical segment 😊
Thank you, glad you like it.
Wow! Ford bronco! Great review andrea and zack.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much!
Another great review by #TeamAndrea
Looks good! Because of long-term reliability issues with Ford, I would seriously consider the 2024 model.
Turn signal works so nice
you two are great together. love this
Thanks for watching!
Awesome, thank you!
Great review. Finally a replacement for the old Jeep Cherokee (XJ), very nice. Having Fords in our work fleet that are constantly needing major repairs to the engines, transmissions, and electrical systems, I'd hold off on buying one of these until they get a reliability record.
Exactly
Have you seen issues with the edge at all?
Love your reviews, but I have one suggestion. Comparing Horsepower and Torque isn't as valuable without also understanding vehicle weight differences. Now I know there are further efficiency differences which impact power utilization so your opinion of the ride/power difference is an additional important share. Many thanks and keep up the great work!!
Also, could you do a "If you had..." series? Helping shoppers who know their budget but would like a comparison of the vehicles/trim levels available in that range. Could divide into vehicle categories if the video is too large.
Good review guys. Bought my Badlands here in Welland Ontario and I love it
Thank you so much! Wow, so great, enjoy your Bronco sport, Badlands trim is the one to get with the bigger engine in my opinion. What colour did you go with?
Enjoy it
@@andreaspencer9813 I got the Shadow Black. I really wanted the Cyber Orange, but there was a Shadow Black Badlands and a Cactus Grey Outerbanks on the lot, so I went with the Badlands which basically is fully loaded. I have some plans to add orange vinyl to the hood bulges and the Bronco lettering to match the badlands badge to give me my orange fix haha.
@@frh-freerangehuman Sounds great and those orange accents will look very cool and unique. Enjoy!
@@andreaspencer9813 thank you :)
My granny wants one of these so the cool factor is now gone lol.
There is a granny in our neighbourhood who drives a red Wrangler, so cool!
When Honda Elements came out seniors snapped them up.
I like the bronco sport badlands edition with the safari roof rack and bicycle carriers. It is on top of my list now if i need to replace my car. Such practical suv that can go anywhere in comfort and with style. It would be incredible if in 2028 they would do a phev edition with 20kwh solid state battery that would be a bad boy car for every scenarios.
I'm soooo not a fan of Ford, mostly because of the lousy interiors. But this is really well done! Very attractive, good features and seems to have a better build quality. Kudos to Ford!
I have never driven or owned a Ford that was comfortable or fun to drive, and I've a had at least 5 of them over the decades. They've all been average at best and in some cases, well below average. Numb steering, plain-Jane interiors and/or downright uncomfortable seats. They remind me of something Walmart would import and sell.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH If you don't mind me asking then, why would you have owned 5 if you feel that way? There are lots of alternatives out there?
😆 Awesome video Andrea and Zack! This vehicle do looks almost like a Jeep kind of boxing looks. I am surprised both of you sitting position looks wider and the front seat looks far apart. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it. It's very spacious, we found it super comfortable.
@@andreaspencer9813 That’s good to hear it. 👍🏻
Nice review as usual big thank you guys. You worked hard.
Btw I have to admit that picnics maybe relaxing to ladies but for man its very stressful. We find our selfs constantly thinking about building a house there and planting a tree. ☝️😎
Thank you, glad you liked the review. Yes, definitely couldn't get Zack on a picnic. I can't even get him to dance!
@@andreaspencer9813 Haha, my wife and I can relate.
But in our Canadian heritage, what truly distinguishes a Picnic (BC) from a Bush Party (AB), a Social (MB), or Tailgating (ON)? Maybe Zack really does like that table option.🤔
A friendly tip, feed Zack one more beer, tell him no one is watching, and you’ll have a dancing machine on your hands!😂. Good Luck!
We’re enjoying your reviews. Thank you. Greetings from Alberta.
@@svenhodaka9145 lol! That's pretty funny. Okay I will give it a try and see if I really do have a dancing machine on my hands. Watch out! Thank you very much, happy you are enjoying all the content. :)
Hi guys. I really enjoy watching your videos on Saturday mornings and Zach’s live streams on Mondays. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, glad you are enjoying all the content. :)
Good job!!
A stroke of genius indeed. The Ford Escape is more on the feminine side of the market while the Bronco is more for the masculine type.
I feel like that’s what Toyota did with the new Venza and the current RAV4. Venza is more feminine and luxurious, while RAV4 is more masculine and rugged. And they are both the same size.
While the rav4 is on the intelligent side.
@@willemjongeneelen7661 The Venza is a little bigger, but yes they are basically the same car. The Bronco Sport is a unibody while the regular Bronco is body on frame. The Bronco Sport is actually a better vehicle in my opinion. It’s more fuel efficient and car like, but still retains off-road ability.
Except they neutered the 3500 LB towing capacity of the escape down to 2200. This could have been a decent gas saver vehicle to bring a guys toys to the trails but that just eliminated side by side owners all together and potentially his/hers atvs unless you have an aluminum trailer.
@@jeffk464 what do u mean intelligent
Going to lease 1 of these now. Since gas ⛽️ prices are close $6 now a gallon in 2022.
This reminds me of the original Escape/Tribute in it's upright and boxy design and more off road capable.
True
Very much so!
Great review. The Bronco styling reminds me of a land rover
Thanks for watching!
Torn between Bronco and Taos. 2 litre Ecoboost is nice option to have for Bronco which has its own coolness of niches.
Enjoy your reviews. Hey, will Enchroma glasses correct Zach’s color blindness? Could be life changing for him. Worth trying them!
Thank you so much, happy you liked it. Could be life changing for Zack for sure!
Hey guys, your revews are the best in the web and I love that car, which, infortunatly, we will not get it n Europe ( CO2 taxes, taxes, taxes...). Salut from shinny Paris.
Hello to you in Paris! Thanks for watching, really glad you are enjoying the content. Yes, too bad it is not available there.
Just curious, who’s ebony in this scenario ?
I’m asking for Eddie.
Spoke about the heating but what about the A/C (including back seats and trunk/cargo area)?
Great review. Wish it got better gas mileage but I wish that of almost all non-hybrid/electric vehicles.
Thank you so much!
I have a 2021 Bronco sport outer banks. I love it.
Same I got one last week I love it so far
Mine is finally coming next week! So excited!
Thanks for this video. I bought a 2021 Ford Bronco Sports about ten days ago.
I am looking for a video that explains how to control vehicle speed on a 4 to 5
percent descending grade, such as that on Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado.
In want to downshift instead of using up the disc brakes.
Great review of the new Bronco 👌
You two make me laugh! 😅
Ford will sell droves of these. What a great product from Ford. The larger Bronco will also be an interesting vehicle when it drops on the market. Both will be a sales success for Ford.
Thank you very much, really glad you liked it. We did have fun with this one!
We agree!
Looks good!
Very nice I am now a subscriber. I'm sure someone below has already pointed this out below but when you are talking fuel economy shouldn't it be MPG not MPH?
It was a typo
My GF has the Big Bend edition and the engine is just fine, even on the highway!!
Little sad Andrea didn't want to sing Ebony and Ivory with us. 😢
The backseat zippered storage that's like a backpack is awesome, especially with the contrast interior, I really like that.
lol! You got a few lines.... :)
Hello! This reminds me of the beloved LR Freelander
YES!
That was Ford's entire goal, no doubt - emulate Land Rover Defender and/or Freelander.
Doesn't Ford own Rover??
I would say that this vehicle doesn’t compete with the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk as much as it competes with the Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The Cherokee is a bit bigger than the Bronco Sport and as for off-road the Cherokee is much more capable. But this Bronco Sport is definitely better than the Jeep Compass.
Good comment note!
Canadians out west apparently “picnic”.
Canadians in Ontario and Americans tailgate party.
Are they based in Ontario? I thought they are in B.C.
@@agnesf2659 They're in B.C. where they politely sip wine and picnic lol
I’m a picnicker in Ontario, just outside of Toronto. I’ve never known anyone who tailgates unless they’re American. Maybe you need to live close to the border?
@@eulie717 That checks out and sounds about right. It’s very much a guy thing. I grew up in the QEW corridor, just west of Toronto. So, not far at from Bills Country.
I’m not a sports fan in the least, but tailgating was/is a thing with my friends that are into football.
Of course, I’m also including those action and booze filled high school/early uni gatherings in the many ‘burb parks (particularly along the lakeshore), the occasional barn party, and the impromptu camping trips where no camping gear was ever brought.
These fall under the tailgate umbrella as I see it lol
Growing up in the west 905 and having a trunk fool of booze from early Friday afternoon was common place. Guys...what can I tell ya ? 🤦♂️
Please show more views from the camera from the back which is pointing the dash and the road, that's an awesome view to see more of the car and how it drives. Yeah, I am waiting for the big one. The little one is fine if you want good transportation, but if you want a toy, go for the big one! Marketingwise, Escape for the girls and Bronco for the boys.
Like the rugged look. But can it pull 3500 lbs?
Wouldn’t the Bronco Sport be more comparable to the Jeep Compass and the Subaru Crosstrek?
Looks a lot like a Land Rover Freelander.Always liked the looks.Hope the baby Bronco is more reliable.
The topiary and pavement textures heavily hinted at rich Vancouver neighborhood, and I guessed right :D
Well, they do live in Vancouver, or at least greater Vancouver.
This was a fun review, I haven’t laughed this hard in the morning for quite some time. I should get my better half to watch it, she’ll probably get a kick out of it. That said, this vehicle is a spitting image of the Land Rover Defender and a near similar engine. That kinda takes away the originality points and sure is a buzzkill. I’d still get since it seems like a fun small crossover. At the price point of this thing, I’d probably get more bang for my buck by getting a Japanese brand.
Wonder why they didn’t use the same full digital gages from the escape?
Nice suv. I wonder when Ford will electrify or make it a hybrid? Thanks for the post.
Not sure, but I am sure it will come at some point.
What is the ground clearance of Bronco vs Escape. Can you flat tow behind RV.
That's funny that it's called baby bronco in the title cause I saw it for the first time today and when I realized what it was i said baby bronco! Lol it is cute
Great review, keep up the good work... love from the UK
Thank you so much, glad you liked it!
Can a turbo engine last 200-300k miles, or does it cause problems like a CVT?
