Comparisons are inevitable for this kind of thing, and that's all well and good. They all have differences. But I'd like to point out how cool it is to listen to something like this and hear so many talented women, one after another. It bodes well for an incredible art form.
Brooke Evans (at 2:54) and I were at the Barn Theatre as apprentices a few years before the production mentioned here. She was talented, beautiful, and kind. It's great (but not surprising) to hear her nailing it here. Damn, that's a hell of a belt and then flip into mix. Go, Brooke!

I saw Lisa Brescia on Broadway, in the final run with Deborah Cox & Adam Pascal, and she was spectacular.

When I was singing this song for the first time, I thought that the really high note on "wear" was sung by the lead and not one of the backups so I sang it with the higher note and...I am never NOT going to sing that higher note, it sounds extra fierce and for once my mix sounded amazing

Mandy is honestly one the BEST belters on Broadway, but her voice is almost too strong for a Sherie role. Like, I almost wished she played Aida instead.

I think Sherie and Idina are the best. Both of them played Amneris very well. But Idina sang the song different level with high energy and fun. Especially hitting the high note "My Strongest Suit" before the fashion show begin.

Zach T I have. I saw the OBC in Wicked twice. Every Elphie I've seen since sounded better. Idina literally shouts the climax of any power ballad she performs and it just doesn't work for me. I get that others like her and that's cool - I just don't see it.

Idina all the way!! It's always hard to beat the original, and Willemijin did pretty great with the high note as well, but I feel Idina set a whole new standard for Amneris with the acting, and the singing especially with her belting out that high drawn out 'strongest suit'.
