I have a cz scorpion evo 3 pistol, and the cz scorpion magpul edition carbine...they are simply badass, and they run flawlessly. They are beasts. Added the Franklin armory binary trigger system to my pistol. So much fun.
I just got mine yesterday, and I can't wait to shoot it. Mine is a little different. I have the Magpul spring loaded flip up iron sites and I bought the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot. The muzzle break is also different, it's more like a breacher for a shotgun. I love it. And it has a folding stock, not the slide out like yours. What impressed me the most is the beefyness of the parts. The bolt is a solid and the whole thing is built like a tank. And it's so easy to take down. I paid $1200 for mine. The two included 20 round mags are the Gen 2. I bought two Magpul 35 round mags for $20 each. I have not seen a bad review anywhere. I have the Ruger Charger as well and it's a piece of junk compared to this thing. I still like it, but it's like comparing a Chevette to a Corvette. Yes, you can say you have a "vette" with either, but in reality....liked and subbed
Same here. I got my S2 micro about a year ago and also added a Romeo5. I love this thing so much it's all I shot for awhile. I like PSA mags for the money they're hard to beat. I've added HB springs along with a Theta flat trigger shoe a Magpul grip Strike Ind. mag release and charging handle and for me this is about as close to perfect as it gets. Best part is I'm probably under 1400 for everything and 800-1000 rnds with zero malfunction. Awesome lil package
Got a pi stol variant evo, loved it so much, got the micro in april. Ive loved it. Shooting it suppressed, just puts a big stupid grin on my face the entire time. Good stuff man CZFORLIFE
Love this gun. Replaced grip/mag release with new magpul options. Safety selectors with apex low profile. HB industries trigger shoe, spring kit and extended charging handle. All super easy installs and really gets you to know the gun. I highly recommend!
The mag release you can take it or leave it. I swapped mine out with one that adds a paddle to the bottom a la MP5 because even though the OEM release is textured, I have had my finger slide pass and miss it when trying to engage it under stress or wet fingers
Nice Micro! I have completely upgraded mine. I'm ready to hit the range. I definitely like the faux can. I would definitely get it if I didn't have plans to run mine suppressed and with a reptila corp brace.
Have had my CZ Scorpion gen 1 mags loaded for over 2 years, and they have NO cracks whatsoever... So I'm thinking that issue has passed hopefully! Thanks 4 the review
I handled one in the store and the brace definitely has some play to it. that's probably why they discontinued it and put out a new version with the new UMP looking folding brace
just picked one of these up a few days ago and of course went to play with it. I had to adjust the iron sights a little but thing is a laser beam. I do not recall if there is wobble in my brace but if there was i really did not notice it. great little gun
just picked one up yesterday its my fav model by far vs the newer models. even though there is play in the brace i still like it better than the newer version
I would love to get a hold of one of these. I have yet to even handle the Scorpion of any design, one day hopefully. That micro model is very nice, and love the collapsible stock! Have a great day brother!
Always value your opinions and reviews. I just ordered the 7.5” barrel standard size version, hopefully a little less recoil, and I’m going to throw the SB side folder brace on it. Hopefully that takes care of the issues you mentioned. Still enjoying this a year later?
I just put together a video of converting my CZ Scorpion over to my own K configuration. I hope to shoot it in the next week, but so far I love the shorter/lighter package. Love the CZ Scorpion platform...such a fun little firearm. Great review! Have fun with that little guy! oh, and I did the same thing to the right side safety selector, but eventually swapped both out for a nice set from Parker Mountain Machine.
The micro is a great gun but that being said it is not even close to the mpx. I own both and the mpx k is far superior. But for the price the micro is awesome.
I thought I'd mention that the newer S2 mini's (I just got mine a couple of weeks ago) now come with the Magpul flip-up MBUS sights. They're not metal like the ones here, but a benefit is that they're a little taller, which makes them perfect to so-witness through an EOTech (which looks and works amazing on the S2) and other similar RMRs.
Oh also the magazines can be had from 4 different companies now too so there's no shortage of mags and they're all sold at a very reasonable price!! Rock on!!
Hi KS! Great review! Can you tell me, what is the model of the bolt that you replaced?? And how is the new part working out?? I like to order the piece you recommended when I order the gun. Thanks in advance!!
Any suggestions as to the optimal "practice" (aka fun time) FMJ ammo for the S2 (excluding cheap steel), with a view towards maximum 50-100 yd accuracy? And what's the "best" home defense JHP ammo for the S2 for maximum effectiveness but controllable recoil (cost not being an issue)? I've got a Glock 45 which has a similar 4" barrel, but I doubt what's best for the G45 is the same for the S2.
I also have a problem with the amount of play in the brace but for its intended purpose as a sort of PDW thing, close range shooting is the point. I had a side folding brace and it felt more solid to shoot precise shots.
Quirky can be fun, but I think they could have thought a few more things through on this one. Still a blast to shoot! Thank you and cheers brother! Oh, and for whatever reason, I have to fight with my iPad every time I type in “Texican” so forgive me when it says Texan, lol.
in regards to the brace wobble. The brace on my MPX is essentially the same design, with similar wobble. I have found that with a more vertical grip, and rearward pressure it locks it in a single position, it is a complete non issue. Zero affect on shootablity, other than the poor cheek weld.
Great review and video as usual!! I put a brace on my scorpion made by Safety Harbor Firearms and it's awesome and solid as a rock! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking at buying a scorpion!!
Great review! I've had my eyes set on the Scorpion Evo for a long time. I believe I saw this one at shot show last year. I've been waiting for this version to come out (short barrel) because I want a suppressor that will be in a compact version. I might be picking this up for sure within a couple months. One question though, did the SB Tactical Brace come with your set up or did you just buy the pistol itself and add it later? I might have missed that in the video somewhere.... Anyway I will be modding it for sure with a red HB Industries trigger and a red charging handle. Also a new grip and I have to do something with the safety for sure since I shoot wrong handed. Thanks again for great content!
I really love the looks of that brace but the movement is just not acceptable for me. My S2micro has the folding SB brace and it too had some wiggle. I fixed it with a piece of packaging tape where the brace folds and it's tight now. Really great video. I love my Scorpion
Great Job KS. How much was the asking price for your model? And Also you Might want to Replace yours with the Folding Stock. It may eliminate the wobble. Cheers!
I kept my EVO with its original barrel length because I'm not a real fan of K type subguns. There is such a thing as too small. I bought the new PDW brace for the Micro, changed the handguard and also changed grips, selector and charging handle. At its core, it's still an awesome gun to shoot and handle. I had carried mine in a regular backpack that I've modded inside to fit the gun, spare mags, and other things as my truck gun. I do not like the original grip or selector because I know when designed, they wanted this gun to be handled with gloved hands
MPX all day. Both are very fun, however the cz scorpion needs to many modifications to get close to the mpx OOTB. Just my opinion based on my experience having fired both.

If you can get a micro you may want to invest in the SB tactical folding brace that comes with 4 free magazines... And the black window mags are more expensive but loading rounds is smooth as a babies ass... Add a grip and safety and your good to go. All reasonably priced upgrades
Use the low mount for your holosun, it works better with this pistol and your irons co-witness through the sight quite nicely. If you switch to the low mount you'll negate any slight wobble of the brace since you're not having to hold your head so far above the brace to look through your high-mount.
I want one so bad...I gotta look up how to remove a kidney at home... You should get a Diamondback Grip by Nightstrike for it, it is the best angled foregrip Ive seen and it would be a great foregrip for this pistol.
I realize that most people won't shoot it one handed (with the strap of the brace around your forearm) but did you try it that way? I wonder if doing so would alter your opinion on the angle of the grip.
If concealment is the priority this gun is perfect but the performance out the bore is the same as a pistol, performance wise like range, speed, penetration and energy I prefer the 7 barrel version.
That's too bad that the brace isn't top notch. I have the full sized evo with an added SB folding brace...great firearm. The only reason I wanted this model (aside from the cool faux silencerco suppressor) was the collapsible brace. Thanks for the great review
Nice review KS. That brace is just not sturdy enough. I have the CZ Scorpion carbine with the fold out brace and it is very sturdy. You might want to take a look at that CZ brace or something similar.
I completely agree about it not being sturdy Randy. It holds this back from really being a powerhouse. I’ll be checking out other options if this stays. Thank you and cheers brother!
