    Great tip to go with the 2CH version for better digital quality (for 60 megabits per sec) versus the 3CH (which results in a drop to 30 megabits per sec recording), as well as the recommendation to use a larger memory card for this 4K camera. Thank you!

      @@TechMishka hmm so 2 cam giv es better res than 3 cam, but if I want the ultimate protection in parking mode wouldn't I get better coverage with the 3 cameras?
      I'm learning here so whatever will allow me the best for parking mode is what I am interested in.
      I'm comparinfg this to a Red Tiger T27 that I like a lot but I don't think it offers the buffered parking mode so I am thinking of going with this a229 pro, but I read the comment about the frames per second being halfed when you add the 3rd camera.

      @@chefgav1yes for the quality, the performance, the smartphone app, etc, viofo dash cams look live very good values. I recently bought the A139 pro, and the equivalent offerings from Blackvue and Vantrue are more expensive. In the case of blackvue, it’s almost twice the price. I just bought the A119 mini 2 for my other car to replace the older blackvue DR590, and the viofo is 100x better while being cheaper. The only area where blackvue does better is the cloud connectivity.

    I read somewhere the Plus 3ch with it's 2K-2K-1080p recording has better night recording capabilities due to the same sensor, but bigger pixels compared to using 4K on the same sensor. Seems logical as it would in all likelihood have less noise due to lower ISO and less blur due to higher shutter speed
    I guess the Pro 3Ch could be set to 2K-2K-1080p for a similar effect?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  Před 5 měsíci

      Sadly, no... The pixel size is down to the image sensor - if you switch to 2K it will use the same hardware (smaller) pixels, it will just encode the whole thing in lower resolution.

    Was looking at this dashcam as a travel vlog set-up option, feel it might be a much easier plug and play 'always on' setup compared to the tedious process of setting up the GoPro with all its cumbersome extra fitment requirements and the perennial heating issues.
    What would you recommend then, a 3ch or the 2ch version, considering the better quality output of the 2ch version as mentioned by you,
    Also, can the rear camera be fitted on the front windshield itself and the lens rotated backwards to capture cabin footage?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes and yes. The only downside using the rear module as internal camera.woild be the lack of infrared LEDs. But they will make your footage almost useless for vlogging anyway.

    I almost bought the A139 Pro but held off as I was waiting for a new ute that was on order to arrive - New Ute, new Dashcam. Now the A229 Pro has been released which is far better due to the upgrade in for video quality of the rear camera. I'll be making a purchase very soon for the 2 channel version, I'm not bothered with the internal camera. I'm pleased I waited.
    I suspect the next upgrade wherever that will be will be an improvement in video quality for all 3 channels when the interior camera is added to the system.

      @@TechMishka you reviewers should really start pushing the manufacturerers in that direction. It just seems be the most logical thing to do. VIofo, being a Chinese company, can actually move faster than most. Every dashcam from the cheapest to the most expensive does about the same thing. But Blackvues dr770 box is the only difference. It's secured somewhere within the vehicle where it can't be stolen. The best dashcam is not a dashcam but a camera system that can see everything that is done to the car car . Inside and out.

    Does the dashcam support 60fps or higher? Because the clarity of moving objects (licence plates moving to the side) can sometimes be better with a higher framerate rather than higher resolution.

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  Před 4 měsíci

      This one doesn't. The thing with 60FPS is a bit tricky - when fps is higher, the camera has to raise the shutter speed. When this happens, since the shutter is "open" for shorter period of time, the amount of captured light is lower and cameras usually compensate by increasing the ISO, which brings in more noise. This is why most makers focus on 30FPS.
      If it is a shiny bright day, 60fps should be totally fine though
