This was a really helpful tonglen meditation.
I love this practice but sometimes feel the intensity of drawing in black smoke straight to heart almost made me breathless .
I have been trying to find a way to practice this powerful tradition and here it is .
    Thanku

Another, I can’t believe t not Buddha inductee here. My first Tonglen meditation and found this extremely purifying/cleansing. Still new to meditation but this seemed to be really meaningful.

Amazing meditation! Thanks Michael. One thing I’ve noticed is that the sense of self for me seems to be located between the eyes. This is mainly because my Shamatha practice has created so much piti in the forehead. I know that the sense of self is elusive. However it’s difficult for me to “see” that when the piti in my forehead is so strong.

It really gives me the sense of no separation. I like it. I appreciate that you frame it so clearly, because I have seen people misinterpret this practice so fatally.

Thank you! I had heard of Tonglen and was a little apprehensive about it, but that was very peaceful, kind and compassionate.

Hi Michael Taft, I wanted to let you now, that I have found and followed some of your guided meditations in the past months. Due to time zone differences (I am in Denmark), I do not get to follow the direct streamings (yet), but watch the videos off the CZcams channel. I find them speaking to where I am right now, - although my training is actually in the Tantric traditions of yoga, not any buddhist tradition. Particularly the meditation in my tradition called Inner Silence / Antar Mouna, has a very strong resemblance with the Dzogchen instructions I can read about in the book "As it is" by Tulku Urguyen Rinpoche.
Thank you, please continue to do what you do here.
