  • r/A-HoleTax OP's entitled bosses think that they can get away with paying their employees $0 for all of their hard work. OP isn't about to get screwed over, so he calls up his lawyer and takes his moron boss to court. The stupid boss doesn't even show up! So, OP gets awarded a juicy settlement of $35,000 for just a few week's work. Not too shabby! If you like this video and want to see more, hit the subscribe button!

I reach out to a musician only to find out I reached out to them before. last message over a year ago no reply.
I was in a foul mood, no excuse sure, and blew up at them, not really thinking about how pissy I was being to someone who I do respect. They set me straight pretty shortly after and a cooler head prevails, He's a pretty cool person, very understanding. Life happens, Messages are frequently overlooked.

The storyies of how fast food workers are treated always make me mad.
My daughter was doing the Disney College Program. It was Christmas Day and the first time she had been away at Christmas.
Some A**hold got in her line. When she went to take his order he started to scream at her about how stupid was she that it took this long to take an order for a Cheeseburger.
The my hero stepped in. Another mother standing behind him told him off. She said how dare you yell at her because he chose to come to Disney on the busiest day of the year and expect to have no wait. A day mind you when MY daughter was working so he could order said cheeseburger. To quote the woman “she is spending her day here taking your order instead at home with her family so YOU can have a cheeseburger.”
She told him to Shut his mouth.
Obviously this got a lot of attention and my daughter was in tears. It was very hard on her being away from home. Even if we were there she would have been working. Luckily the supervisor saw it all and they swapped her out so she could have some down time.
To this day I thank the woman who was my surrogate. It’s more than 10 years later and my daughter still works for Disney but no longer in fast food. However no matter where you work at Disney there are still A**holes. At least she gets paid better now.

Based on the poster's description, I believe the "golden check" would be called a "cashier's check" here in the US. The bank takes the money out of the account before issuing it, so the account balance is affected when the check is written, not when it is cashed. It can't bounce unless the bank itself fails.

Reminds me of this one story that made the news (the huge country-wide news not local).
So for context I live in New Zealand. There was this one guy who got caught and arrested for breaking and entering over 40 times (can’t remember exact number). He then went to Texas.
He tried to break in to a house and was shot 8 times. When the NZ police called to ask what they were going to do about it.
    The answer?
    Nothing.
As far as Texas was concerned the problem was dealt with. That’s what I like about Texas, they don’t justify criminals with their sob stories.

R/slash: "AND he had to PUSH both bikes the 12 miles out to the road, then walk another 3 miles..."
I spit my water across the room. Thinking, 12 MILES? I check the text and am reassured when it says 2 miles out to the road.
Just testing us I see? Keeping us on our toes is always a keen idea.

Theres an abandoned peice of property that is a boarded up and over grown eyesore at the corner of my block. We've called the county about it for years, it attracts homeless people, rodents and insects that people are deathly allergic to, not to mention property damage. They tell me there's nothing they can do. One day, I turned down my street without a turn signal, (dead wrong on me) and got pulled over in front of this property. I rolled the window down to speak to the officer, handed her my info, but asked if we could do this by my house at the end of the street. She told me to sit tight, and got in her car. Im playing with my phone when I realize it's been a while. After about 10 minutes, I look up and noticed it's gotten a little darker, and since it's spring in florida I assume it's gonna rain. Then I hear he on her speaker. "Ma'am please honk once if your address is correct on your licence". I honk once. "Thank you. Please follow me to your residence" So I follow her. She gets out of the car and hands me my paperwork and licence back. "Today is your lucky day! I'm not going to write you a ticket because I was surrounded by a swarm of wasps. Do you know who owns that property? I tell her what we've done to try to get it dealt with and she says thank you. Then for an hour I see her in front of my house in her cruiser talking on the phone. A week later....the place is leveled and the grass is cut.

Oof the private property one. My dad has an abandoned house, we were gutting it and cant do anything with it, we had some lumber and windows that we pulled out, and it snowed, and some idiot plow driver thought he was supposed to plow us, plowed the back hard making everything splinters. So the guy probably screwed up his truck. But the next door neighbors decided to take down the fence, just so they could park, they asked that winter if they could park, and my dad said he could sell it to them. Also someone kicked down the door, with not much luck. So we think the neighbors did that.

We have that problem on our property to, my family owns 81 acres far up in the mountains (bout a four hour drive from where we actually live) and some guy that lives down the road from our propery, has five kids that CONSTANTLY drive through it, they've made trails, damaged plants, etc.
The one time I went up there with my mom to help her replant saplings and fix fencing locations, the five pulled over on their quads some distance away from us and started, loudly, might I add, cussing up a storm and demanding to know who we were. We didn't bother with them, we just went about our work, but still...
It's bad though that their dad tore a large area in our land apart so he could "drive more easily" to the well to get water back to his own property. Haven't been up there again in two years, but I can almost guarantee they've destroyed our plants and saplings again. I can't wait to sell those properties, I'm glad I've decided I'll never want to live up there, I don't thibk I could deal with that crap constantly, it's just not worth it.

*Well, I know where the $500 Littering is: Honoloulou: I went on vacation there in the late 1980s, and my passenger threw a cup out of the window (he's an asshole, and does that pretty much everywhere). The cup hadn't even hit the ground before I was lit up by the cops! They hit him with the $500 fine, made him pick up the cup (and everything else they could find nearby), and gave him a court date, "in case he wanted to dispute the ticket"! The court date was like two months ahead - and I have zero doubt that they chose that date knowing full well that he was a tourist who would never come back for the ticket: priceless!*

Honestly, Uber could have lost a customer (or more if she went public with said event). She also might be less trusting of other taxi drivers from any company.
