- As we’ve come to expect from Nicolaï, this composition takes us on a classical journey, in the sense that it displays marked, distinct developments from top to base. With the passage of time, the citrusy exuberance makes way for an unexpectedly prominent patchouli drydown, suggesting a calmer, more sensual evening, following the sunny energy of the day. A delightful piece of work.

Hello Mr. P., such a delight to hear you talk about Patricia de Nicolai! One of the most talented perfumers around for sure, in the best of French fragrance tradition. I didn't explore all her fragrances, but her citruses are indeed superb. I own both Cap Neroli and the very, very elegant Cédrat Intense which is the best citrus since Chanel pour Monsieur in my humble opinion, and that's saying a lot!!!
We eat licorice by the ton here in Holland! Double salted licorice at that!! That wouldn't go down to well as a sorbet.......

Nicolai is such a wonderful house! It's definitely a must-love-vintage type of brand. I've got to check this one out and Cap Neroli. 👍to Baikal Leather and 👍👍 to the 30ml bottles. Thanks, Mr. P!

New york Intense is possibly the most perfect masculine ever I'm so glad it's niche and not many others smell so wonderful

Excited to get my nose on this as we are just entering spring in NZ. I have fallen hard for this house. My favourite is Kiss Me Intense. I also have Patchouli Intense, Ambre Cashmere Intense and Rose Oud. I’m hankering for Fig Tea and to try Cap Neroli and Sacre Bleu Intense. Such beautiful crystalline, restrained and 3D fragrances. They set beautiful scenes and have the feel of being a wonderful pop-up storybook for the nose ❤️

I loved the original Sacrebleu. It was subtle and mystical 💖 Current New York Intense is fantastic in the tropics. I wear it though it is classic masculine.
Well, it’s an amber, which makes it pretty unisex, in my book. Enjoy it!
Shamefully never tried anything from this house. I will be sure to rectify this.
There's an independent dairy at Loch Lomond called Auchentulloch which makes the best ice-cream in the country. Their liquorice ice-cream is heavenly.

This one is not for me either. I like the scent, but it really goes quiet on my skin really quickly. Also I find calone much better presented in Nicolai‘s own Week-End in Normandy, which is a take on Cristalle. I prefer L‘Eau Mixte or Eau Chic from this house if I want a perfume in this style.

Nicolaï is my second favorite house, but this release was not for me. I really have a hard time with the calone. By the way, in Sweden, licorice ice cream is quite mainstream.
