    What if thanos knew about the celestials and there birth process.
    Hear me out. Thanos is and eternal but he had the deviant gene (hence why he’s purple and his chin). So he was always slightly annoyed with his brother. He eventually goes through a celestial birth and is like “oh dang those people died and that species is gone”. So he ventures out and ditches his fellow eternals. Builds an army and goes planet to planet lowering there population to make sure they don’t go extinct. But people around the cosmos don’t buy it so he says it’s to help with planetary hunger. Then he learns about the infinity stones and tries to get them to half life across the universe to stop the celestials from destroying thousands of species. Most planets notice the benefit of there lowered population (gamoras home world) and some decide to implement population measures to keep the population down and in turn stop the celestial births and thanos has done his job. He saved thousands of species… then the avengers came along and fucked that plan

    • @GabrielGonzalez-un7rx
      @GabrielGonzalez-un7rx Před 2 lety +4

      Not really, he wouldn’t be saving millions of species, he would be condemning the universe to die. Without the celestials, the universe would stop creating new life, planets, and galaxies. It would all be lost as the expansion of the universe would eventually cause it to dissolve into nothingness. The celestials are the only thing that prevent this from happening. Also, we need to remember that Thanos was inspired to wipe half of the population of the universe when his home planet, “Titan”, collapsed because of lack of resources. There were no celestials involved in that. Furthermore, in endgame, it was revealed that Thanos had changed his original plan, and now wanted to wipe all of the universe’s population, not just half, in order to create a new one. That wouldn’t make sense if he was trying to save them from the celestials, seeing as he would literally be killing all life himself personally, including those living in planets that don’t have a dormant celestial in them. So it really doesn’t make any sense for that to be his plan. It’s a good theory, but I think that what we see so far in the MCU contradicts it.

    • @benspooner7396
      @benspooner7396 Před 2 lety +1

      @@GabrielGonzalez-un7rx thank you for the counter arguments and problems with the theory, I shall think of there are any loop hole around them but I have 1 problem with your first point about the celestials and them being needed for the universe to live… who says that’s true? Arishem… and that’s it. There is a better than good chance that’s a lie for the eternals so they do there work without guilt and it could just be a ploy for the celestials to keep growing as a species especially while they are being hunted by galactus, or about to be hunted by him.

    i don't know much about the marvel "lore" from the comic book side... but i would find it interesting if they rationalize Ego the living planet knowing this process in the upcoming thor 4/guardians 2 movies. I'd be interested to see if they say he was born prematurely or his body destroyed (not that it matters in the grand scheme).
    I also wonder if Star Lord will be trained by Eternals to connect to that energy again from a different source. I wonder if being half celestial would make Star Lord our best hope against Celestial Judgement

    I am truely suprised of the bashing this film has to deal with. That's a take on the marvel receipe that i like. The film is refreshing, granted not perfect. Zaho still needs to improve her formula regarding the pacing (some scenes were not needed and made the experience a bit heavier than it needed to be) but other than that it was really cool. The stakes are going one step higher which was the big challenge for any material which is set after endgame. The tone is its own with cold colors and less compliant with Marvel's requirements which i salute. Most of the actors are doing the job, the music is good, the effect are on point.
    The story telling is nothing revolutionnary but still it's way better than any other movie introduction. We don't them fighting a random villain we won't remember without any consequences on the greater story other than "alright new caracters introduced". What happens here matters and they were conflicted, those depicted as the opposition like Ikarus and Kingo had very good reasons to think what they were thinking and i like Kingo's choice not to intervene. Without being a pshilosophical breakthrough, this film was nuanced and it made it one of the best Marvel's production ever.

    Some questions:
    1) Why is there a need for new celestials to be born ? Do the old ones age and die ?
    2) If the purpose is to "breed" as many people as possible in order to give birth to new Celestials, wouldn't erasing half of all life in the Universe be extremely detrimental to the Celestials' goals ?
    So then why didn't they let the Eternals fight and stop Thanos ? Hell, why didn't they themselves (the Celestials) go and fight Thanos to stop such a threat to their existence and development ?
    3) I so dislike this contrived concept of a nigh omnipotent being (Arishem) that creates some inferior beings (deviants), but they are naughty and need to be eliminated, but somehow the almost omnipotent being can't do that, instead he has to create other lower beings (Eternals) to get rid of the bad ones. For fuck's sake, Arishem, you're almost omnipotent, get off your ass and eradicate them yourself !

    • @warriorwatch2406
      @warriorwatch2406 Před 2 lety +20

      I'll try to answer these questions to the best of my ability
      First: There could be a couple answers, but we know Celestials can be killed so having more wouldn't hurt, plus, it would mean the creation of more life.
      Second: The Celestials didn't seem to know Thanos was gonna do the Snap, but I will admit, they should've come to him when he was on his farm.
      Third: Imagine your Arishem, you view the Deviants as ants that will screw with your other ants. You could destroy them yourself, but you could also create a different group of ants to kill the ants that are screwing stuff up. I hope I gave you some answers.

    • @anonymususer1728
      @anonymususer1728 Před 2 lety +11

      @@warriorwatch2406 First, thank you for trying to answer, so let's discuss this further.
      1) "we know Celestials can be killed so having more wouldn't hurt" - yeah, I guess, but ... it's still a weak argument. Given the high cost of creating a Celestial (sacrificing billions of sentient beings) you would want to keep the creation of new Celestials on a very strict need-to-do basis, a last resort, only when one Celestial actually dies and he needs to be replaced. You don't just go around killing billions of people just because "it doesn't hurt to have more Celestials around". It doesn't "hurt", you say ? I'd say those billions of beings sacrificed would disagree.
      2) "The Celestials didn't seem to know Thanos was gonna do the Snap" - uhhmm, were'nt they monitoring each planet that had a Celestial host embedded ? And even if a Celestial wasn't doing the monitoring directly, they had their robo-servants (the Eternals) there, on that world, to do that. You might say "the Eternals' job was just to fight Deviants". Well, we now know that's quite incomplete, isn't it ? It's their job to fight ANYTHING that hampers the growth of the population. That's why they were fighting Deviants in the first place, because the Deviants were killing humans, therefore delaying / stopping the Emergence.
      Side note: I just noticed another glaring flaw in this movies' logic. Since the Eternals were tasked with aiding the growth of the population (and thus combating anything that would decrease it) they SHOULD interfere when humans were fighting and killing each other !
      3) "You could destroy them yourself, but you could also create a different group of ants to kill the ants that are screwing stuff up" - or you could use some bug spray and kill them all swiftly.
      Another side note here: we once again encounter a very stupid trope in movies and stories - when a very powerful creator makes an inferior being but gives it the ability to kill him, the creator. Why in the holy fuck would you ever do that ?? How and why can a handful of Eternals KILL a Celestial ? In your analogy, that would be like a human creating such powerful ants that 8 ants could kill a human. WTF !!

      @@stevethedude.4586 Yeah, I know, the same goes for the Eternals themselves. In the comics they couldn't be permanently killed as long as The Machine (The Earth) exists. Their bodies were almost impenetrable, they had a very powerful healing factor, and even if they were vaporized on a molecular level they would still eventually be reborn.

Maybe Xandar and Hala has already passed Arishem's judgement. Earth at this point in the MCU is not even an interstellar travel capable species yet, why would a celestial want to emerge when human knowledge and population has not even reached its Zenith or anywhere close to that of xandar.
