Although the key fob does not have remote start, I’m glad to know that through FordPass I’ll be to do that through my iPhone! Again, thanks a million Henry! You’re doing a great job!

My 2019 mustang GT base doenst come with the modem but I did a Sync 3 swap No Nav. Looks like the remote start didn’t work either. Would I need to take it to a Dealer so they can program it or does it also not come with the modem ?
Can I link a CC to this ford pass also? so I can charge at EV chargers? If so how can I do that? Thanks

I did the master reset on the radio first because i am the new owner and the app gives me that option , when i go back into the ford pass app, and click on activate it just gives me a option to do the reset again? Nothing else happens

I have a Ford Kuga 2018 (1.5L Diesel 120 bhp, ST-Line X with Automatic Transmission) and I am unable to do any of this.
I am able to connect to FordPass, but I am unable to ever get to the activate modem screen, both on my phone and Sync 3 touchscreen ☹️ Any help would be appreciated. Bars in the UK
Great video. I just purchased a used 2021 F150 and the original sticker says it has FordPass Connect, but the app says the vehicle does not have connectivity. Do i need to reset the vehicle fordpass to get access? The vehicle comes up with the vin but there is no way to foster a connection.
The FordPass system must be reset through your F-150's Sync display. A FordPass Reset will make it so you fully connect your phone and activate all of the features.
There is no "Activate" button on mine, and no hotspot settings either. I have a 2017 F-150 XLT.

Any advice on how to activate a used fleet vehicle? Master reset doesn’t work. Or do I have to hunt down the rental place that owned it? (I purchased it from a dealer who purchased it from the rental place apparently)
A Master reset should usually do the trick, however, a rental company could have ordered their fleet units without it. It should say on your vehicles window sticker if it has the FordPass feature.
MacPhee Ford it does look like it has it according to the information on the car. The fordpass guide mentioned that it could be an issue with the VIN being designated as a fleet vehicle by the rental place which then immediately prompts me when I try to activate it. So it looks like I have the hardware, but the VIN may be blacklisted due to the Fleet status? Weird. The dealership is trying to contact the previous company that owned it. I might know something in a few days.
You need to change vehicle details to your name and phone number from previous owner through customer care or dealer

Unfortunately we do not control the location availability of FordPass Connect. FordPass is only available in certain regions and will most likely stay that way until further notice from Ford.
If I upgrade my Ford C-Max hybrid SEL, to sync 3 will I be able to USE FORD pass? A lot of people are upgrading there systems now.
The vehicle must come equipped from the factory with the FordPass Connect system. It can not be added afterwards. Although the Sync 3 system would be a good upgrade nonetheless.

I have a 2020 f150 with sync 3 and I’m having troubles figuring the app out, i don’t get the options to select all that, it’s just a picture of my truck
The truck has to be activated in order to access all of the features of FordPass. The easiest thing to do would be to reset the setup process and start over again. Make sure it is activated properly and the features should appear.
can one buy the modem to fit into a 2020 model ranger ?
With the exception of some base XL models, FordPass comes standard on 2020 Rangers. If you want to send us your VIN we could see if your vehicle has it.

FordPass connect only works on model Ford's from 2019 and up. Select older model Ford's also work from year 2017 and up but only a handful.
It's not working for my 2021 F-150 it just says "Activation Pending". Asks for an Authorized user who should be me but there is no where to give authorization.
If somebody set up the FordPass before you did, it will give the admin access to that user. To resolve that, you have to factory reset the FordPass Connect system through your F-150's SYNC infotainment screen. You can use the link we provided which directs to the Ford.com website and you can follow the steps to reset it.

No, the key must be with in proximity with the vehicle to actual "start" the vehicle. The engine start button needs to be pushed in order to shift gears when remote start is active.

Try and reset the FordPass system from the vehicle. It may require a full reboot from your device and from the vehicle to reconnect properly.

Fordpass Connect works on all NEW Ford vehicles. Only certain models and trims offered it for previous model year Ford's.
I dont get the Activate Vehicle button. It just shows the picture of the car and nothing else.

Honestly I just don't get what the "remote start" function is useful for.
(unless you can put your kids in the car, start the car remotely, and drop them off to school remotely while you're having your coffee at home in your pj's. :D)

If your Ford has the FordPass Connect modem then it will have the capability. Typically though the vehicle does have a touchscreen display.

I stucked on sign in or create an account. Whenever i decide to click either got stuck on loading. Iphone14promax. I dunno why.
You may have to delete and re-download the app. Also make sure you have a strong internet connection.

FordPass only works on certain 2017 models and newer. All models from 2019 and up will have it. Only applicable to certain regions.

hey i have a 2019 ranger and i am able to turn my truck on and off with the app so maybe try fully disconnecting the device and vehicle from the app and re connect it again. i can start my truck and if i choose to turn it off before the 15 mins are up i can just hold the button again to turn it off

Yes the vehicle doesn’t start all the way so you will need the key fob to press the push to start button when you get in

Unfortunately FordPass is not available on your 2014 Mustang. FordPass was released for 2019 models and above.

@@MarkK01 there are some earlier models that have it, like your escape, but only very specific ones. Only some trim levels of certain vehicles will have the FordPass Connect modem. That’s why we tell people that from 2019 onward, all vehicles have it regardless of which trim or model it actually is.
@@MacPhee_Ford Starting in 2017 the Ford Escape lets you start the vehicle with your smart phone on the Ford app page. I wish my 2016 Ford Escape Titanium was able to start with my Ford App. I have tried looking for a after market controller that would allow me to start my Escape with a phone app. You can get a direct remote starter that would allow that but I already have the OEM Ford remote start so I do not want to start from scratch again.

This worked in My 2023 bronco for about 1 week, now it doesn't work...
It could just need a reset which can be done through your SYNC infotainment screen. It will under settings as FordPass Connect Reset.

Is there a setting when you turn on your vehicle the air conditioner also turn on?
Ford's electric vehicles like Mach-E or F-150 Lightning offer cabin and battery pre-conditioning which will preheat or cool the cabin through FordPass. If you do not have an electric Ford vehicle then most of the functionality will rely on the vehicle automatically setting the climate control system to what it thinks is the optimal temperature. So yes, it will turn on the climate control/air conditioning system with remote start.

Can you make multiple accounts on this app?
Each user is to make their own account if they want access to the same vehicle. Once separate accounts are setup, the primary user (the user that first setup FordPass) would need to allow access to that vehicle in order to access vehicle functions and location

A year range would have saved me some time. 2016 does not work.
It's all good until you accidentally accept a request from someone you think works at Ford, access to the Ford Pass. And they can unlock the doors and start it right up anytime they want, and all they needed was you VIN number.
It notifies you of the device you are trying to connect and also has a prompt every time the vehicle is started that FordPass Connect is connected and vehicle information and location is being used.

Why does the remote start not work on manual transmission cars?
It has to do with the actuation of the clutch pedal and the position of the gear shift.

Completely unacceptable not having it on the key fob too. I drive my relatives Escape frequently and the fact you are forced to use an app if you want to start your vehicle remotely is ridiculous. We’re in a market where money is really tight. You should be offering your customers all the options you can.

Ford Pass sucks. Double authentication makes it unusable. Considering that you have to use a password to access any important information, I find it a waste of time. I just want to make a payment and I have to check my email and enter a secondary code. This combined with the fact that Ford is logging all of your data and selling it to anyone who wants it, makes me no longer a Ford customer after 30 years of fords. I am removing the entire WIfi device located behind the seat on my truck. F Ford!
