You should use rgb ram sticks. It gives 20-30% extra boost.
ahahahahhaha
My RGB mouse makes my aim 20-30% better too. Would definitely recommend.
@@Filletss you should invest more. I bought a very expensive RGB mouse and it gave me the ability to auto aim
Hahahahaha ;)
@Moto andGivi believe it or not but RGB can do all colours. Youre thinking of LED.
3:34 dual channel she wears a 2 piece, single channel she wears a one piece. I think I'm beginning to understand the difference between these things
Very lol
I didn't got it :(
Bruh...
oh my god :D
To no ones surprise, dual channel is better, as it has been for years
Current CPUs (except for high-end) are designed to work with dual-channel memory (=128bit bus) so it's natural single channel memory (=64bit) suffers performance hit
@@plasma8031 What about gpu usage?
@@plasma8031 Yes, because the cpu gives more juice -> gpu can work harder -> higher fps + higher gpu usage. If you cap your fps to 30 on every game, you'll get a lot lower gpu usage.
@@plasma8031 Of course you don't, but that is the reason why the gpu usage is higher, it pushes more fps. That was just an example how the gpu usage works.
now i know why my gtx 1060 give me 30 fps. but on youtube i see 60 fps (i use 1x8 ram)
me watching with 2x500mb welcome to downtown coolseville.
I also see 20% overall performance FPS boost when running 2x16gb RAM. Especially in modded games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. It helps ALOT in dense areas like city zones in Fallout 4 where i see almost double FPS. i5 10400 - GTX1660 SUPER - 2x16GB HyperX Fury 3000mhz.
My PC has 8gb of ram,and I buy another 8gb of ram the same specs, and trust me...is way more stable then before. It stutter a lot,but now doesn't. So 2x8gb of ram is better then 1x8,but way better then 1x16..dual channel rocks. Good gaming, guys!
@Hope Less first it depends if your current ram and the other ram you will buy are dual channel and if your motherboard supports dual channel ram(you can see it on your motherboard manual or manufacturer website for your specific board)
Mircea hahaha ikr everyone knows that double better than single :D
@@gerry9337 he means 2x8 is more than 1x8 therefore making the fact that it is dual channel or single channel irrelevant because he has incorrect values for a valid benchmark you idiot.
Great as always. Funny thing is, I just spec'ed a machine for 1 stick (8G) to satisfy customer budget but give a upgrade path when funding allows.
same here bro ! :D
Everything counts when it comes to building a pc
True, especially the CPU, even if you don't currently have a 2080ti, when you upgrade to a 3070 for example, your CPU may become a bottleneck especially with a 144 Hz display so don't skim on it. Currently the 9900k seems to have more headroom for a faster GPU than the 3900x for example.
@@pixels_per_inch well it depends on many things, but for example I'm going to build a cheap pc with 1600 af instead of 9100f because it was the same price and ryzen is better
@@JAfonsoNunesMartins10 True, on the low to mid range, Ryzen rocks. But on the high end, I l've seen people buying the 3900x over the 9900k yet they mostly game on their system (with a 2080ti). Their excuse is that the 3900x is "future proof" but by the time those extra threads on the 3900x matters, it would be a slow CPU
@@pixels_per_inch well if the 3900x is cheaper than 9900k then you should buy it
@@pixels_per_inch but everyone has their opinions I respect yours
Not only fps improve but cpu usage too, that's what I was looking for :D
exactly!!!
Can you redo the test with the single channel setup running at 2133 or 2400 MHZ? Most of the time people buy single channel for money reasons so they also tend to buy slower sticks. 3200 MHz is high bandwidth even in single channel mode- as much bandwidth as dual channel DDR3 even. With a slower stick, the difference will be much larger.
dual channel: More fps and less expensive, Single channel: *less fps, and MORE EXPENSIVE*
WoW
It's more expensive because it has nothing to do with the channel. If it is one stick with a higher capacity it will cost more because the system will be able to add more sticks of that high volume ram. (4x8gb instead of 4 x 4gb)
single channel is less expensive.. are you high?
@@deadphilix1671 lmao this was 11 months ago. Pc prices were inflated as fuck.
@Diego ooo in Canada single channel and dual channel cost the same bru
2x8 more expensive than 1x16 in my country🇧🇦
Most surprising to see higher cpu usage in a single channel mode, even with lower fps count!
because the cpu has to help flush the ram and throw more at the dram from the harddrive, thats how it works, so the single channel has more bottle necking and more cpu usage to try get the data into the ram
U know how an cpu works?
Omg I never knew there was such a difference! well now im dual channel instead of single so YEET :D
Stfu
Ur so unfunny its sad. Pls never say yeet again
@@zarrar8743 First I wasnt trying to even make a joke as I only said I didnt know the difference so idk how that seems like a joke to you

@@zarrar8743 this is not a joke
Y'all boys calm down now ya hear?
Dual channel really makes a difference, especially for my laptop. Runs a lot smoother now.
Can it stop in game stuttering?
@@sameertaraki2397 Considering that your rig can run the game where you're having stuttering. It's usually caused by high temps, high DPC latency from HPET on or off, or bad bios settings.
Single Channel is like eating 2 apples with 1 hand
Dual channel memory mainly shines when you are playing at low settings. If high settings show a 5-10% performance boost then at low settings you're gonna notice 25-40% boost depending on other factors.
Try with older cpus and RAM, like e.g.: DDR3 1600mhz
Wow.... The difference is quite shocking! I know dual channel is better but the difference can be quite dramatic. Thanks for this! Next should be quad channel vs. dual channel.

be prepared for Mr."I don't see any different" xDD
The human eye can only see 3gb of ram
He did this benchmark on an Intel's bench test, and the gap between the two is still high. Imagine what the gap will look like if it was on a Ryzen benchmark!
Thats a huge AND significant difference. Everyone of the games showed atleast 20-30 fps increase, and that too with lesser investment on the 8×2 ram!!
Man please please make a comparison video with a APU like athlon 200ge with added VRAM and NO VRAM. PLEASE!
Marek Wyrzykowski But still, i would really like to see a comparison video. Atleast it will be better than windows' s shitty gaming mode
Try it on a Ryzen system
You Got Mail! Dual channel will still be better
Ryzen is more memory sensitive than Skylake, Kaby Lake and other ring bus single die architectures by Intel. So obviously dual channel is going to be better.
@Dalle Smalhals man ,should i buy a system with ryzen 3 2200g rx 570 4gb and 4x2 ram or a ryzen 5 2400g rx 570 4gb and 8x1 ram pls help

You can't when you have between 150 and 180 fps, but imagine if you play some game with 20 fps and then with dual-channel you play it with 40-50 fps. It would be a BIG difference.
@@stefanmilenkovic4715 ouh that true
I notice that often the GPU works harder with dual channel memory on these benchmarks - less bottlenecking I guess?
Yup. Higher FPS = Higher GPU usage
That is just showing there is no bottleneck in dual channel ram , cpu wouldn’t need extra work

Stupid Idea
I made the test with Single 8gb vs Dual 8gb (16gb) and noticed no difference , whats up with that ?

You may be a little limited by the Ryzen 5 1600, and remember to use the RAMs on 1 / 3 or 2 / 4 slots respectively. but it definitely should help the dual channel 8gb.
@Dalle Smalhals Oh no.. im an AMD boy for sure... lol what im saying is... it depends on many things.. and I said "a little" because its not a big deal of a difference but its a 1600, maybe upgrading to a 2600 would run much better... and.. in any case, why do u want to be aggresive? im just trying to help you with your set up.. but if you cant take an advice... please consider not write these kind of comments..

Anyone just thinking of buying one more ram for dual channel, just do it you won't regret it. Dual channel is necessary to get rid of shutter and lags and in some case boost fps. Just go for it.

You are running over 100fps in most of these games, say you upped the resolution or used a lower powered graphics card and you were trying to maintain 60fps, would single vs duel still make as big a difference?
Theory
Less channel < More channel [when it is same size]
Your channel is awesome. Good work.
There is a considerable difference, wow
heres my issue with your test: if a motherboard has 2 ram slots and 1 is empty is it the same as only 1 ? is there a penalty for running 1 stick in a 2 slot setup ? because that is not 3 to 7 % faster . somthing elze is zt play i think . the speed test and the actual results are too far off . 3 to 7 % in a 60 fps game is 2 fps not 20
Yeah it would be the same. 4 sticks just means there's 2 sticks per channel. Doesn't matter how many are empty, just how many are filled.
Now that I no longer play games... I wish I knew this back then when I played Bioshock 3 on a graphics card overclocked by 20%
Dual channel works with 3 sticks of ram? in my country they discontinued DDR3 memories and I need to use 3 slots of 4gb each. Same model and frequency. Would the dual channel + single channel be maintained?
if you have dual channel ram the npc s have clothes
I have i5-10400F and rtx 3050 with one stick of 16gb ram 3200mhz and Im planning to upgrade it to 2x16 in these days, but the reason is because sometimes it has freezes in every game and many people told me that single channel could be the reason? I guess... thats why Im upgrading it. Any ideas why is this happening?
if you mean brief stutters as your playing games then yes I just went through this after 1 stick of ram went bad and I had to run a single 16GB stick while waiting for an RMA, Runs much smoother with 2 sticks installed. Game in question is Atomic Heart which I was playing when memory originally went bad (DDR4 3600 CL16 2x16 32GB Gskill kit) 13600K / 3060 Ti. Had to send both sticks back as a kit for RMA but luckily have another PC here with same memory kit & borrowed a stick from that.
I was loosing this much performance all this time because i am using single 8gb ram but i ordered new 2X8gb 3200 ram
does the dual channel still makes difference if the cpu was i5 9300h and gpu gtx 1650 ?
you are awesome.... thank you for showing us this.
i have two doubts bro.
1.can we mix one 4gb stick with another 8gb stick to make 12gb ram.
2.can we mix one ram with single channel and other with dual channel in the same pc.
The answer
1. Yes you can but both of the ram should be single channel not dual channel, Cause its like doing sli, You can mix 2 ram together from different companies but it has to has the same cas latency, timings and voltage , For example 8 GB 3200Mhz Corsair and 8 GB Gskill mix in together, it could work but If you decide to do 8 GB 3200Mhz Corsair with 8 GB 2400Mhz, What you can do is go to psychiatrist and tell them you sometime rethink the decision you make if you think it would work, But if your gonna mix 8 GB Ram With 4 Gb Ram in Dual Channel the answer is a big *No No*
2. Yes it would work
8 GB 3200Mhz Gskill*
@@mochammadaqilrafidyumna7320 bruh.. you know absolutely nothing about computers.. you can have a 8gb ram and a 4gb ram with different speeds and you can have them as dual channel.. my 4gb stick is running at 3200mhz and the 8gb at 2133, the speed will run at the lowest (2133) to match the speed with both ram sticks, you can most definitely have dual channel. And what on earth do you mean by "Yes you can but both of the ram should be single channel not dual channel" lmao? a single ram stick is single channel.. you can't get a singular ram stick to run at dual channel..
why does the single channel use more CPU and the dual channel more GPU? to me, the framerates should be the same with single vs dual channel, as the only difference is in the gpu usage that matters the most in many games.
The gpu is getting utilized more.
Great info!
No one is using single in 2020 compare dual vs quad vs octa
very strange that everyone on single channel is more clothed in tomb raider
With iGPU there's an even bigger benifit
more bigger bandwith and transfer speed which you iGPU needs
So you can get 20-25 FPS more in dual
So thats why my GPU cant use his 100% on Ac Oddissey thnk u so much
And why GPU usage is so high in dual?
because he able to give more fps than single channel.
Why is GPU utilization on dual channel at 91-97% and 86% on single?
Cuz the single channel bottlenecks the gpu
Ohh I see
Whats more amazing is that cpu temp. How did you manage to keep them so low?
I do not see memory prices falling any time soon so buy the best dual channel memory you can afford. Especially if you are using a Ryzen APU\CPU. Graphic cards come and go. Spending more on your memory up front will be a much better, long term solution. You are doing yourself no favors by cheaping out on your memory and when it costs as much or more than your video card, it is worth doing your homework. Actually Hardcore Overclocking channel would be a good place to start to really educate yourself on memory and Samsung B die.

Everyone is saying quad channel next only a very few number of cpu s support quad channel and if you were to do the test nothing will change.

because the dual channel rig is pushing more fps, which means higher GPU usage and higher clocks

Guys, I have a serious question. Like, wtf, like, are u kidding me? Why there is such a good difference between mono and dual channel and nobody, literally nobody says that in the pc builds or laptop review, like wtf, just why. I never expected this difference. There is 20/30+ fps in the games, i dont know if mono channel it s better for the pc, for the temperature, for programming or for photgraphy/video application but... If there is this huge difference why no one says that. Anyway, in every case it s better having 2 channel of ram in ant case? Or just for gaming? There are any type of issues having 2 channel instead of mono? (Sorry for my english i ve tried my best)
So that means you'll get a good fps boost by using dual channel but are there any downsides to using dual channel rather than single?

Does single channel makes your pc run slower or hang? I have single channel ram and my pc running very slow, making it hard to install games.
Ya, it can cause that.
also depends on hdd or ssd and just what cpu/gpu he has really..
It depends, it can be the lack of ram, the slow processor or a slow hdd.
Me with a x99a system with up to 8x Memory slots. Do i get quad-channel if i use all 8 slots?
What is better?
Quad or Dual?
Quad, I think. Though I also think it may be tied to what size the RAM Sticks are and what the Motherboard supports.
Anyone tried 1x16gb ram vs 2x8gb ram for monster hunter world? I get 70-80 fps in 1440p medium low settings using 1x16gb ram and rx 6600xt, but when I play this game at my other pc set 2 x 8gb ram and gtx 1080 I can get 90 - 100 fps.
