    I just got a lot of directional fabric that was given to me. I have stayed away from directional fabric after my first quilt using this type of fabric. I have used tossed and blenders ever since. So, now I want to thank you for the ideas and patterns to use these fabrics on. Also, thanks for putting "Directional" in the title and saving me from reviewing all your videos to find what to do with this fabric. What a time saver!

    This was so very helpful. I bought several remnants and they are all directional, I didn't even look just saw the price and thought, more practice material. Thank you Donna so very much, you are amazing. Happy quilting!

    This was exactly what I needed and answered my question perfectly! For my first ever quilt, I am making the Landslide quilt and I didn’t think about the fact that my 2 & 3 fabrics are both a directional fabric, pink with rainbows all facing the same direction and blue with rainbows all facing the same direction. Hopefully, I can get them all facing the right way! Although having them go in different directions might hide any of my crooked seams... thank you for this video!

    Very helpful information. I can always replay this if I get stumped. It can’t change my past mistakes (HST turned two different ways) but hopefully my future projects will turn out better!!
    Thank you for the explanations and examples. Really love the zoom in on the fabrics too!
    As always, enjoyed watching your video. Have a great quilt show!

    Hi Donna and Fran. I have a lot of your pattern books. Could you put a playlist together or do an episode telling us what patterns are best for directional fabrics. I have a lot of one direction fabric. I have found a couple of your shows talking about directional fabric but you only spoke of a handful of your patterns.

      Good idea Trudy! We have also put together a list of patterns that will be perfect for directional fabric - www.fabriccafe.com/Top-10-Quilt-Patterns-for-Directional-Fabric-Fre-p/991503.htm

    Thank you, thank you! I've been holding on to some material I love but it's directional and I've been scared to cut it.

    I'm pattern dyslexic so putting stripes into HST's has always been impossible. I'd have to make a bunch and hope there would be some I could use. I can't begin to tell you how much it means for someone to take the time to explain how to cut the stripes so they all come out the same. I'm sure it seems simple to some people, but it was a nightmare for me. Not anymore, thanks to you. Now I need to buy some striped fabric.

    Donna are directional instructions given in all of your quilt books?/ per pattern ?

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 2 lety

      Good question. Not specifically, but I write most of my patterns to accommodate directional fabrics best in the #1 position.
