X pipes work based off of Newton's 3rd law, every force has an equal opposite. In this case it manifests as pressure waves in the exhaust. When the high pressure exhaust encounters a larger opening, it expands. The expansion creates a pressure wave in the opposite direction that has a negative suction effect. An x-pipe blends the two banks of 3 cylinders together and creates more vacuum that pulls more exhaust gas out of the cylinders.

Thanks for the video Bro👍 I have catless headers,main resonator and a supersprint axleback and its too quiet im gonna try a different setup. Youre right when I had the muffler delete plus headers the car felt slower but when I put a muffler back on the car felt significantly better in the low rpms
Glad you like the video broo 👍 Isn’t that crazy tho, the performance I got when I put on the x pipe and muffler was significant I clearly felt a difference! Maybe keep the super sprint Axle back and get rid of the Resonator and see if that wakes things up enough?
I came here just to get some perspective as I'm considering adding some mods to mine this summer. I currently have a 325xi, and I also just inherited a 330ci (r.i.p to my Uncle), so I'm just thinking about some options.

I put a dinan muffler and facory everything else on exhaust and the muffler made the exhaust a bit louder and a deeper tone but is still restricted and quiet sounding. Waiting on my x pipe/resonator delete mid pipes. Cant wait to put them on my 330ci
Wait until you hear it bro. Mid pipe delete and then an X pipe addition, plus the Dinan, ooof 🔥. Lmk if you feel a performance increase from the X pipe when its done. Ppl dont believe me but its actually noticeable

I know the turner exhaust system is over-looked for some reason, what are your thoughts on the 330i cat-back exhaust they offer for the E46
Honestly Turner makes great stuff for our platform. Just took a look at it now and it’s impressive! I like the idea of the electronic actuator. They even sell an axle back kit for a little cheaper that you can add an X pipe too and be golden. Very nice 👍
If you take off the cats everywhere but the headers do you still pass admissions?
In US Cats on this car are only apart of the Headers. So yes, as long as you keep Headers stock, this will pass emissions and still give you a performance increase!
so cut off resonators and put an x pipe where they were? also which x pipe and muffler did you get? (part number wise)
Cut off both resonators and you just need one X Pipe just after the exhaust brace near the center of the car 👍👍 Any X Pipe with dual 2.25 inch exits will work brother!!
Does the system start from the headers? And is it stock exhaust pipes or did you increase the size?
Yes Stock Headers brother so after the headers then this system. 👍

You can google X Pipes and Magnaflow mufflers. I got these online bro. Dual 2.25 inch pipes for x pipe
Dude, the exhaust music you're talking about is hard to come by. I got lucky and got a HighLine Tuning system from a wreck. I've listened to all the others, and this one is the best IMHO. Problem is, they not making any more at this point.

@@pythondon There's a few videos out there showcasing it. I may try doing one. I have a ZHP w/ an aFe stage2 intake. Sounds pretty good together inside the car, but would be interested to get an outsiders perspective.
Last question how much pipe did you order
The Muffler Shop had the material they needed. Try to find one in town and get some advice from them. They will know whats best. You can tell them what you want and they will make it work if they’re a good shop 👍
Did you make the exhaust yourself or did you make it yourself?
Had a shop put it all together for me. X pipe is just after the exhaust center support. Wanted the Muffler in the back to be magnaflow 👍 Bought my own Tips cause I wanted a specific look
I want a boom pipe.. like a nascar.. also a unequal length headers so has that sweet rumble. Like a bmw sound mixed with subaru
