I AM SO HAPPY that they remastered these games for modern consoles. No one in my family may enjoy these games as much as I do but, even so, I'm thrilled to relive these memories from decades ago. 😁

I think I first played katamari damacy when I was 4. I saw my dad playing it on our ps2 and I was curious, so he let me play. I’ve loved the series ever since, and wish it got more attention. People are praising other games that do things differently, but often they forget about the games that walked to let others run. While the original katamari damacy was great, and holds up just as well now as it did back in 2004, it’s a shame to see it largely forgotten when it paved such a huge path.
I really hope We Love Katamari Reroll can replenish the popularity of the series a bit.
So even namco is remembering some of their other franchises. This is good now maybe we will get some reference outfits to Ridge Racer in a Tales game? I don't know but at least we we got the second Katamari game so great look into it Alex!
I loved what they did with the first Katamari Reroll, and while I already own the original We Love Katamari, I'm still considering getting this remake, if only for the lack of loading-times when leveling-up the Katamari's size.

I bought the edition that is supposed to come with a little Prince and little king costume, but I can’t find them? Do you have to do something to get them? I am so confused and can’t find information anywhere.

I was so excited for this game and I brought it on switch cause I thought it would be great in short bursts and handheld, but looking at this footage I wish I’d brought it on ps5 or pc for how much smoother the game plays, the switch definitely has a lot of slow down, but I don’t regret my decision to buy on the switch, but it’s something to bare in mind for anybody on the shelf about what console to buy it on

I've tried the Reroll on my brother's Switch sometime after it came out, but i somehow couldn't process the controls properly 😅 i guess i never gave it enough time though, so that's on me. I really enjoyed watching my brother play it though, so i hope he picks up this one too!
I always loved to refer to these game as the quirkiness of modern Japan incarnate, they are fun, colorful and very unusual with an unexpected sense of humor and i may one day give them a second chance and try to play them.
While the controls can take some time to get used to (I guess you can call them ball-tank-controls), the Switch without the pro pad is probably the worst way to play it. The control sticks are rather bad and the alignment of the sticks doesn't work as well as the Playstationt layout does with both sticks on the same height on the pad.
We Love Katamari is the best one they ever made. SOOOOOOO happy they remastered it. I got mine the day after it came out!
I had to order that one from Playasia because it didn't get a physical release in Europe again.
It’s my favorite Katamari installment, but honestly I’ve only played the first two. I’m buying this version for sure and can’t wait to experience the extras. Do you recommend any of the others besides the first two?
I try the first one when it's free on switch for a week on april? And ooo boy it really hooked me...the song and gameplay for some reason i don't know just reel me in.. Even in shower for some reason i keep singing the "lalalala katamari damashi" For some reason.. Lol
frame rate is uncapped so you can run 120fps on a 120fps monitor or more.

I liked Katamari for the fun colorful look and enjoyable gameplay. What I didn't like and found stressful was the time limit. I ultimately gave up on this franchise because of it. Having a choice of having a time limit or not back then would have been fantastic. It's definitely a fun quirky title!
This has an Eternal mode with no time limit!
@TheVilified I think its all down to preference, as I personally like to fixate on the little details and explore. For this game it could be seen as a soort of a training mode, so to speak

How do you unlock eternal mode or stop the clock?
I loved the remaster for the first game they made but then I played Katamari Forever and I was not so big of a fan of that. I will probably pick up this remaster this the first and second games tend to get the most acclaim in this series even though I may have had this game spoiled through Katamari Forever.
Anyone have a take on the music pack?
$10 more for 25 more songs…but $20 more if you don’t get it with the base game. That is under 50¢ per song and it’s Katamari, so the music is a big deal, but still that’s a decent chunk of change considering.
I love the Katamari series! But I will say that I was sad with the original’s remake. They took out the English dub which was fantastic. I want this game so bad, but I just keep waiting for “the other shoe to drop” and something will be missing. Songs, audio, missions, something.
yup, sadly that's my thought process these days, you never get the full experience, there's always something missing. They never expand upon it anymore by adding new cool exclusive content which used to be a thing. If anything we just lose stuff.

Amazing! Picking it up for sure! I mean I picked up the previous remake and loved how it played. It might have just been in my head, but it felt like it controlled better. Thank you for confirming everything!
There's a ton of issues actually.
Sound effects are pitched incorrectly, the changes to the hub clutter the screen, fans no longer repeat their voice lines continuously, the music when moving in the hub has been altered.
And they fucked the cousins too, in the original, cousins from the first game got their designs changed, with their descriptions explaining how they progressed between the two games.
For example, Ace got his butt switched out for a spikier model.
In Reroll 2, however, all the models for the first game's cousins were ported straight over, so none of them have their updated designs. Go to Ace in the Collection viewer and read his description to see how blatantly lazy it is.

The only thing I disliked on the original on PS2 that nobody adresses was the loading with the King's head midstages, when you upgraded to much bigger sizes. I assume they're gone on this new version, right? Other thing: The original soundtrack (of the PS2 we love game) is back unmixed, right?

I wish the would have added a few more features on the PC, like ultrawide and 144FPS support, but overall the remasters are alright. I liked Damashii's remaster already and had fun playing through it again.

I loved Katamari Damacy. I liked We Love Katamari. I preferred the design choices of the original and the soundtrack was so much better.
