It's honestly not the FDA. It's the fact that we allow virtually every public good to be privatized, commodified, monopolized and target marketed. Some people legitimately have no choice but that's rare. Most Americans actively choose to buy big box brands instead of raw foods.

@@danielsampong6607 First of all, carnivores don't eat "large quantities" of meat. Some people experience a healing and balancing phase where they might eat more meat than they used to, but this phase runs its course and levels off. Then you end up eating a normal amount of meat, just as you would on a standard diet, and possibly LESS.
I actually had kidney stones for 5 years and often needed antibiotics after a flare up. Since starting carnivore, I haven't had a single issue. Labs are perfect and my thyroid medication has been cut in half. I may be able to completely stop it.
The supposed issues with kidney function are based upon faulty studies, never on carnivores, but on people with preexisting conditions, uncontrolled diets and processed meats and cheeses. They don't control for smoking or drinking either. I'm an RN with 30yrs experience. I'm pretty good at delving into research studies and you can't believe everything that gets published!!
NONE of these studies have been done on reasonably healthy carnivores following a proper carnivore diet. Many "carnivores" are NOT actually following a legitimate carnivore diet.
Carnivores don't eat processed foods. We also don't eat oxalate foods. Many of us also don't eat dairy or use seed oils. These are major contributors to metabolic imbalances and toxicity that places stress on kidneys, as well as other organs, especially in people who already have metabolic compromise.
Simply eating high quality meat and animal fat, full spectrum salt, and filtered remineralized water provides a healthy and healing environment for all your organs, including kidneys.
Do your homework. Understand what the diet is and is NOT. Know what to expect during adaptation. Know what your health status is before you start. You should have a physical and labs done in case you have latent problems you need to be aware of. I have multiple labs done routinely due to hashimoto's- which has completely returned to normal since I started carnivore. I was already in very good shape and had been paleo for 8 years. My inflammation was much better than before and labs improved but I still had ongoing inflammatory markers and joint and back pain without injury or degeneration. Carnivore completely cleared all of that within a month.
I'd highly recommend a sports medicine doctor and a regenerative endocrinologist. The average doctor regurgitates whatever the books and boards tell them to say.

the problem is a multifaceted phenomenon.
I think something after WWII shifted the world that really triggered america to go steadily in this concrete decline in health.
as a kid i thought it was canned food like spam that made american health bad, but i was wrong, its more than that, and its more complex than that.
my grandmother came from a very poor family after her father died and her mother jumped from man to man to feed her kids. my grandma and my great grandma were very poor.
fast forward to the early 2000s and they were either chronic smokers, and/or very fatally diabetic induced from unhealthy eating habits.
there are so many variables in the human body that determine poor health, genetics, psychological factors, cultural, exercise, weather, vitamins, bone structures, residential location, religion, etc.
and then we got the economy, finance, grocery stores, the invention of dining, whether its fast dining or fine dining.
we indulge in ourselves with blatantly detrimental bad habits, chronic smokers, drinkers, drug abusers, and addictive habits and personalities are very similar to causing obesity. over eating, under eating, societal pressure, childhood trauma.
from what i can tell, oils dont seem that destructive as cooking oils has existed for like, thousands of years. and i believe oil naturally has a long shelf life so there would be no need to tamper with its contents in order to put it on the shelf longer.
another threat to our health was the invention of cars and automobiles, they revolutionized human movement and what we can do with the use of fast distance displacement, but vehicles are necessary evil today, as well as gasoline and oil.
A lot of Americans dont have a choice but to eat bad food some days, because they can't afford fresh fruit and veggies every single day, but then we got people complaining about pesticides.
I think ultimately, a good decent health, starts at home where a parent can cook well and rationally for their children, and to teach a child to cook as soon as possible.

Agree. I'm sure food is a big part that can affect health but so much more does. The individual and their temperament and how they process stress/trauma, or respond to any situation. I think stress can be an even bigger issue than the seed oils. Being paranoid about all the toxins is such an easy hole to fall into while trying to make the switches, I've been there some that and the stress was making me more sick, thank goodness I caught on quickly.
Just do what you can when you know better and if that means you can't afford to make a switch or do anything, that's okay too.

    • @Em-vn8xm
      @Em-vn8xm Před měsícem

Oils have been used for thousands of years, but she's talking about specific oils. Not all oils are equal and they react in your body differently. We've been told(still are) that saturated fats (animal fat and coconut oil) are the worst, but from I've researched, I believe the opposite. Saturated means that at the molecular level, all the carbon atoms are bonded with a hydrogen atom. In monounsaturated fats (like olive oil), there is one carbon bond, so they have two less hydrogen atoms. In polyunsaturated fats (like canola oil), there are multiple carbon double bonds so they lack 4 or more hydrogen atoms.
Because they lack more hydrogen atoms, they can be more reactive and they can go rancid easier. Our diet needs all three for different reasons, but it only needs a small amount of polyunsaturated fats and we have a TON in our typical diet.
Of course overall health is caused by lots of things. But I think oils have more to do with it than we realize. 100 years ago, people in western culture were getting most of their fats from animals, butter and lard and such. And heart disease was practically unheard of. So much so that in 1920 a man invented a machine to detect artery blockages and his not to waste his time on that.
