But sometimes if I'm honest with myself, some kids, still in America struggling with less than what i had and i just hope we know the differences of what's avail to who.... all in love, always. Just food for thought.
Even veggies to cook from scratch are awful, sure they look pretty, too pretty… but they taste like water or sugar or both. Canned goods have sugars even when its supposed to be a salty ingredient. Some things even taste like plastic. If you’re american and haven’t travelled outside the US, you probably have no idea what normal food tastes like.
@@daniellamunoz8894 I have a garden and do organic gardening, using compost and chicken poop from our birds as fertilizer. My brother has a garden and used the commercial fertilizers. The differences in how our zucchini tasted, to use an example that both of us planted, was almost unreal. I can't afford the "good" stuff from the grocery store (we buy the normal ol' veggies), but I feed my family from what I raise as much as I can.
We eat at home mostly organic. The worst foods my kids get are at church events. Its something Christians need to wake up to. We're feeding the saints!
the problem is a multifaceted phenomenon. I think something after WWII shifted the world that really triggered america to go steadily in this concrete decline in health. as a kid i thought it was canned food like spam that made american health bad, but i was wrong, its more than that, and its more complex than that. my grandmother came from a very poor family after her father died and her mother jumped from man to man to feed her kids. my grandma and my great grandma were very poor. fast forward to the early 2000s and they were either chronic smokers, and/or very fatally diabetic induced from unhealthy eating habits. there are so many variables in the human body that determine poor health, genetics, psychological factors, cultural, exercise, weather, vitamins, bone structures, residential location, religion, etc. and then we got the economy, finance, grocery stores, the invention of dining, whether its fast dining or fine dining. we indulge in ourselves with blatantly detrimental bad habits, chronic smokers, drinkers, drug abusers, and addictive habits and personalities are very similar to causing obesity. over eating, under eating, societal pressure, childhood trauma. from what i can tell, oils dont seem that destructive as cooking oils has existed for like, thousands of years. and i believe oil naturally has a long shelf life so there would be no need to tamper with its contents in order to put it on the shelf longer. another threat to our health was the invention of cars and automobiles, they revolutionized human movement and what we can do with the use of fast distance displacement, but vehicles are necessary evil today, as well as gasoline and oil. A lot of Americans dont have a choice but to eat bad food some days, because they can't afford fresh fruit and veggies every single day, but then we got people complaining about pesticides. I think ultimately, a good decent health, starts at home where a parent can cook well and rationally for their children, and to teach a child to cook as soon as possible.
Agree. I'm sure food is a big part that can affect health but so much more does. The individual and their temperament and how they process stress/trauma, or respond to any situation. I think stress can be an even bigger issue than the seed oils. Being paranoid about all the toxins is such an easy hole to fall into while trying to make the switches, I've been there some that and the stress was making me more sick, thank goodness I caught on quickly. Just do what you can when you know better and if that means you can't afford to make a switch or do anything, that's okay too.
Oils have been used for thousands of years, but she's talking about specific oils. Not all oils are equal and they react in your body differently. We've been told(still are) that saturated fats (animal fat and coconut oil) are the worst, but from I've researched, I believe the opposite. Saturated means that at the molecular level, all the carbon atoms are bonded with a hydrogen atom. In monounsaturated fats (like olive oil), there is one carbon bond, so they have two less hydrogen atoms. In polyunsaturated fats (like canola oil), there are multiple carbon double bonds so they lack 4 or more hydrogen atoms. Because they lack more hydrogen atoms, they can be more reactive and they can go rancid easier. Our diet needs all three for different reasons, but it only needs a small amount of polyunsaturated fats and we have a TON in our typical diet. Of course overall health is caused by lots of things. But I think oils have more to do with it than we realize. 100 years ago, people in western culture were getting most of their fats from animals, butter and lard and such. And heart disease was practically unheard of. So much so that in 1920 a man invented a machine to detect artery blockages and his not to waste his time on that.
To add some nuance to this, olive oil and avocado oil are actually pretty healthy for you. They help with hormone and joint health a fair bit, as well as not contributing to bad cholesterol. All things in moderation, of course.
Three things happened that completely turned my diet around: I had to give up gluten and eggs to keep from being in never-ending pain, I became a housewife, and my husband went back to school (meaning, no money). So I had the time and "poverty" to have to settle for mostly just straight-up raw ingredients and cook them (meat and produce). Anything else was either too expensive or would light my body on fire. I'm so glad for that. My diet before was basically bagels, ramen, and pizza rolls. No wonder I developed problems.
Other countries don't use vegetable oil? It's literally an ingredient in my cookbooks. Even some of my sourdough bread recipes ask for vegetable oil. I can't even cook from scratch anymore? (I often substitute butter, but my point is there's a lot of conflicting information out there.)
Seed oils are poison im sorry to say, they are mitochondrial toxins and will increase your chance of cancer and many other diseases. Do not listen to anyone who says they are fine, they are either lying or ignorant. Stay away
@@bg9938 butter, olive oil, avocado oil, lard, tallow, duck fat, etc. theres plenty of oils out there. Seed oils may generally be cheaper but is that worth getting cancer or another decease?
I haven't used vegetable or canola oil in 7 years! We use olive oil, butter, coconut oil or Avocado oil. I also started making my own lard and tallow! You can buy scrap fat from the butcher for cheap and make your own oil for cheap!
A typical American gets 70% of calories from highly processed foods. If we all got that number under 50% most digestive issues would go away. The emulsifiers too like guar gum, xantham gum, carrageenan etc scrape out the good gut bacteria.
I had a cast iron frying pan with corn or vegetable oil in it on a warm wood stove and the oil turned into plastic and people use it to deep fry when that should be against the Law. Lard is best for frying
It is the fast food folks, eat like the French people, they enjoy some of the best foods in the world and think it’s important enough to TAKE TIME to prepare food from fresh ingredients.
I think this is something both sides can come together on, it’s just the people in office are controlling all of it. We have dyes and pesticides that are banned in other countries.
I disagree about seed oils. My grandparents ate them their whole lives, so did my parents, and so do I. We are all very healthy. It’s about balance. Eat a good variety of fruit, vegetables, proteins, and starches. You’ll be fine.
@@matthewsawczyn6592 I guess if you don’t revolve your diet around Whole Foods that is true, but I don’t like when people take it to extremes. I think there is a place for some seed oil in people’s diet and they don’t have to worry too much. P

Love you Matt, but how are seed oils killing us? I firmly believe that even if they are bad, they are definitely not the driving factor in obesity, or other possible health problems. Maybe they are for some people, but no one will become obese because of seed oils. Like I said, really love and respect you (especially with things related to Catholicism), but idk about this take brother
I do wonder how many child behaviour problems are actually a food problem. My own children who were normally very well behaved turned unto unmanageable monsters if they had artificial food colours accidentally. I noticed usa has artificial food colours in nearly everything.
Ugh... try not buying fast food, highly processed food, or frying stuff at home. EVERY SINGLE GROCERY STORE is fully stocked with amazing vegetables and fruits. Complaints about consumption of unhealthy food is simply exposing oneself of being lazy. Wake up. Here we have CHOICE. Choose your way to a better diet.
I think you should start to ask questions what went terribly wrong in your country that working people may not afford to buy ordinary vegetables, fruits, eggs and some decent quality meat to eat healthy.
You buy straight-up meat and produce and just cook it. It doesn't have to be fancy. Baked chicken with garlic and butter and a side of peas is a good meal, once you stop craving the crap.

It's also poor ppl. I grew up poor, it's growing up in an environmentwhere the fresher foods, more healthy foods aren't avail to you. It's being a kid of an addict and you just are happy to eat the dry oatmeal in a pack or the uncookedramen with the packet sprinkled on top. I, now live the life I've created and that God has so graciously provided.
Any other Pint’s-watching Paul Saladino followers??
We eat at home mostly organic. The worst foods my kids get are at church events. Its something Christians need to wake up to. We're feeding the saints!
It's a food substitute that does a very important job: makes people sick to help pharma profits.
the problem is a multifaceted phenomenon.
I think ultimately, a good decent health, starts at home where a parent can cook well and rationally for their children, and to teach a child to cook as soon as possible.
seed oils are poison, dont be mistaken, they will kill you
I'm so happy my mom never let us have high fructose corn syrup growing up
He's done it! He's said he's one of us!
Beef & Water is the healthiest way to eat.
YES. A thousand thumbs up.
Ok, but where are the resources, exactly? Help me out, fam.
Stay away
Substitute olive oil, avocado oil or butter. Other oils really are toxic. Yes, I’m a physician.
What is so horrible about vegetables oil? What should we cook with?Good Olive oil is very expensive
As an Italian comparing our food to American food is like comparing gold to plastic
@@cazwalt9013 ah yes. That's what Italian children have the highest rate of obesity in the world, right?
A typical American gets 70% of calories from highly processed foods. If we all got that number under 50% most digestive issues would go away.
The emulsifiers too like guar gum, xantham gum, carrageenan etc scrape out the good gut bacteria.
Link to full video please. Cant seem to find it
All the nations do a great job feeding 8 billion people.
Great work everyone
We will get help soon as it is possible.
Go team America 👶
What does and does not count as a seed oil and what exactly is the problem with them?
Based
Like everything in life.. usually if its cheap there's a reason for it.
Praise be to Jesus i came across the carnivore/animal based approach
Basically motor oil dressed up as veg oil. Go figure.
In Mexico they use lots of corn oil and had few problems until soft drinks became popular
I had a cast iron frying pan with corn or vegetable oil in it on a warm wood stove and the oil turned into plastic and people use it to deep fry when that should be against the Law. Lard is best for frying
Very true, lard really is the best and better for you
It is the fast food folks, eat like the French people, they enjoy some of the best foods in the world and think it’s important enough to TAKE TIME to prepare food from fresh ingredients.
In the super market there r 2 aisles. The vege and fruit.
And the meat and fish.
Avoid ALL else
Sardines, eggs, beef, chicken. All star power lineup
That is why it's being banned and made fake by Mr. Gates
We gotta be realistic and accept our country’s food system is awful. Being patriotic isn’t the solution.
The problem is definitely lack of moderation. Seed oils are in everything; we probably consume far more than we know
@@matthewsawczyn6592 I guess if you don’t revolve your diet around Whole Foods that is true, but I don’t like when people take it to extremes. I think there is a place for some seed oil in people’s diet and they don’t have to worry too much. P
Yes! I’m glad the carnivore diet works for some people but eliminating seed oils is a bit extreme. Mostly whole
Foods, some treats and processed food is the way to go. And it’s realistic!
I want my fries fried in BEEF TALLOW! Hydrogenation of "Seed oils" hardens them...These seed oils do the same thing to your arteries! Especially the GMO FRANKEN Seed oils that resist Glyophosphate Weed Killers that end up on your dinner plate!...
Hi guys. What counts as real food here in america, and where can i go to get some?
Chipotle
I tell my patients to only eat food that comes from a farm or garden, avoid foods that come from a factory.
If God made it; eat it. If He did not, don’t. It’s that simple.
Soybean oil and high fructose corn syrup !! Try to find mayonnaise without soybean oil... unless you want to pay $9 a jar. And of course high fructose corn syrup is everywhere. I read all the labels, it's terrible.
Well with everything so expensive nowadays it’s hard to even afford buying groceries 😂😂😂
Contemplating moving to Italy just to get quality food.
There is also unhealthy crap in our school lunches
Carnivores against Kamala!
Love you Matt, but how are seed oils killing us? I firmly believe that even if they are bad, they are definitely not the driving factor in obesity, or other possible health problems. Maybe they are for some people, but no one will become obese because of seed oils. Like I said, really love and respect you (especially with things related to Catholicism), but idk about this take brother
...and what oil is good for you?
Olive Oil (Extra Virgin), Coconut Oil, Rapeseed Oil.
@@MonicaLillis Is that grape seed oil?. Ty
@@l0I0I0I0 Apparently in the USA it is known as Canola Oil.
Very simple! EAT LIKE YOUR GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ATE! Simple, whole foods.
Ingredient lists are not necessarily accurate.
FDA and big Frama , but Americans we don't do much
Seeds oils = death
And get this, some bishops use seed oils for confirmations.
Eat smart!
The olive oil you spend ten dollars for a small bottle is fake too.
I do wonder how many child behaviour problems are actually a food problem. My own children who were normally very well behaved turned unto unmanageable monsters if they had artificial food colours accidentally. I noticed usa has artificial food colours in nearly everything.
what is wrong with vege oil? ..
HDL is good fat
Seed oils are not very bad
Wow if they have better food their already top medal standing in the olympics will be doubled.
Yeah the seed oils in America gotten really bad
They always were bad. It was to say plant based this, or that to get you ready for what is coming!
Yup the food companies here are horrible the laws allow it as if they want to kill us 😅.
What foods have these oils? Just curious.
Ugh... try not buying fast food, highly processed food, or frying stuff at home.
EVERY SINGLE GROCERY STORE is fully stocked with amazing vegetables and fruits. Complaints about consumption of unhealthy food is simply exposing oneself of being lazy.
Wake up. Here we have CHOICE. Choose your way to a better diet.
Bring in doctor Brooke goldner
He's right, it's very fashionable to criticize America. They're like the beautiful girl in school who everybody is mean to
More for us! And since when do Americans sound like Boy George????
Not everyone has money to eat properly and when people do add healthy it increases the grocery bill tremendously
I think you should start to ask questions what went terribly wrong in your country that working people may not afford to buy ordinary vegetables, fruits, eggs and some decent quality meat to eat healthy.
Seed oils are fine lol
Hey ... The jabs aren't good for you either
My question is how can we do so affordably?
You buy straight-up meat and produce and just cook it. It doesn't have to be fancy. Baked chicken with garlic and butter and a side of peas is a good meal, once you stop craving the crap.
Hills have eyes and the great depression ya'll it has a real effect
Read Genius Foods.
Why? What's wrong steak? Eat carno.
extra virgin olive oil all the way, if it aint extra virgin then it aint for me
Pray the grace before meals and all will be well.
Don't fall for all these discussions. It's never ending. One will say this and the other will say that.
Remember what St. Paul spoke about godless chatter.
Always Remain Blessed. Shalom.
Unreal. You guys vote explicitly for the people that value profit over human well being.
How is it not food? Maybe just dont eat too much
Use only Olive oil or lard.
Seed oils are not bad for you. Please look at some studies
I wonder what it’s like to hate America from the inside
Overeating makes you fat not vegetable oils lol
We americans? Mate!
Food in europe is not better
Must be scorching hot in America during this episode recording.
That why America is getting sick!!!
