  • Stunning views, great trails and no cars! This is why I bought a mountain bike. Living in the French Alps, why wouldn't you have a mountain bike? Thats why I bough a Canyon Lux 6 cross country mountain bike.

Living in the French Alps since 2007, road biking has been my focus however when I look back to my return to cycling in 2002 it was on a mountain bike. I lived in the Isle of Man at the time and entered the End to End a couple of times. Its only now in 2023 that I have decided that the gravel bike just doesn't make sense on the trails around Mont Blanc.

If you like cycling in the French Alps then you are in the right place. Road cycling the mountains of the French Alps is my passion. I am based in Haute-Savoie, home of the 2027 UCI 'Mega' World Championships which will see 19 UCI Gold medals up for grabs from handisport, mountain biking, track riding and the road racing events and time trials.
Cycling in the French Alps is brought to you from my base at the foot of Mont Blanc close to Chamonix, France. I aim to bring you some stunning scenery, tips and knowledge and share my passion to inspire you to visit the French Alps.
I’m Mike and with my Wife Jude (Judith ) we moved to the Alps in 2007. Now in mid 50’s. Weekly uploads in the cycling season and all content is filmed and edited by me. We like GCN but we'd like you to subscribe to us too please! I will aim to be informative and add some British humour as I ride around the Alps.
Welcome to Cycling in the Alps.

Wow stunning, really interesting to see the ski slopes without the snow ! Thanks for sharing the church interior too, it really is breathtaking on camera and in real life, the blue colours are just stunning, worth a stop off for a peaceful few moments for sure. Thanks for sharing

Thanks - A lot iof locals here are buying EVTTs to access the downhill once the lifts shut. I'm still happy pedalling uphill at the moment

Why I bought a MTB. What I heard...5 star coffee and cake lol...and not liking people, especially Belgians in cars...all the best Mike. Bike looks sweet. Tbf the reasons are similar to those why I ride 'VTT'
