Manual transmission is an excellent anti theft device! Thanks for the video.
👍🏿
Nowadays that's very true. Fortunately nobody is trying to steal a versa lol
@@themechanic6117 that’s for sure..🤓
Yes
@@themechanic6117this car is a boss. People can talk all they want, I love my car. She be zippy.
I was literally typing "Don't you need the car to be level?" when you showed your trick. 👍 It's like you're in my head, man.
If I make a mistake, don't hesitate to call me out lol . I was thinking about that problem the whole time doing this job lol
He really thinks of everything. This man has saved me a lot of money on repairs. ❤ plus his little accent is so cute.
That old trans fluid coming out, looked as good as new! 😊😊
It didn't look horrible but I'm sure if you set it next to new fluid you would really see a difference
Thanks for another cool video, Jon!
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Thank you for this video, I bought a manual 2021 versa a couple years back, it’s my first new car so I’m following the manual service intervals, missed it by a couple thousand but just did this at 22k miles and your video helped a lot
Is it the same process on the '21?
@@youtoobe169 yes same exact trans as this body style. Same procedure and fluid
Nice and simple job.
Unfortunately recording a simple job take 3 hours, then a few more hours to edit lol
Front and rear brakes, serpentine belt and this for this weekend. ❤ thanks bonito❤
Thank you brother. You saved me some time and money.
You're welcome
nice vid first time i change the fluid all i had was a large syringe lol, now i got the second method, i have never taken the extra fluid out, hopefully its not to much to damage anything
Thank you sir
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
I like the cardboard on the jack lol.
I bought some rubber jack pads for that reason not to create a place for rust to start.
Amazon has rubber pads very cheap or use a hockey puck I did that for a while
I had a rubber puck with a cut in the center for the pinch weld, it didn't last long, can you guess where the rubber puck broke in half?? 🤣
How many quarts were needed to fill the transmission up to the fill line once it has been drained?
The drain plug is 8mm square tool correct? Just to confirm before i buy it.
For anyone wondering, that drain plug should be pretty darn close to an aftermarket Subaru oil drainplug.
I ended buying a kit specifically for removing drain plugs
My son didn't realize it needed fluid he's let it go quite a bit and it's slipping is it too late by adding fluid like he should have or is it already time for a new
2008 Lucerne - My back valve cover has a small leak so it self lubricates :) . My GF's 2003 Malibu (3100 engine) has bad motor mounts so it just shakes the rust off. :)
Those are just personality traits 😁
@@themechanic6117 lol :) More like personality disorders :) . Mounts on order, I have the valve cover gaskets in. But its like really cold out. :( Stay warm and good video -
The cold Really sucks the motivation right out of you lol . I'm trying to push through!
08 6 spd doesn't have a drain or fill where you indicated idk how to service this thing...
I used triple square M10 driver which is 8 mm square side, after grinding off two other squares
Good idea
Do u know where I can find manual transmission for nissan versa note 2014 1.6 L because I'm struggling to find one here in Canada, Manitoba
Q: On my '88 Nissan w/5 sp I just used a 3/8" ratchet for the drain/fill plugs.
I tried, 3/8 rather does not fit this car lol
The 3/8 would’ve been better, I just bought the 8mm
@@themechanic6117 I took a old 3/8 extension and filed the sides down a bit and it works fine. You don't have to take much off.
I just bought the proper tools for the job.
@@themechanic6117 Proper this, proper that. If it works and doesn't damage anything and saves money, I'm there. That's the whole reason for doing it yourself.
1:42 Whatever man!! You were just trying to show the world, your GUNS!!!! lol
I can't help it if God blessed me with these guns 💪🤣
What camera do you use to record your videos?
Sony A6400
Nice and clean job.
How does CRC smell? The fluid shield smells horrible 😂😂😂
I spray it underneath my car and I can smell it for weeks 😅
After a few hours crc cures and has no smell after that .
Funny, I was just considering changing mine on my 2010 Note, here in France. Thank you.
Say, do you remember what quantity of oil you ended using?
If I remember correctly I used about 4 quarts , it's a easy job so you should get it done. Preventative maintenance goes a long way.
@@themechanic6117 Thank you. I sent you a few bucks for your coffee!
My 88 ford escort pony manual… Never serviced the fluid.. orig clutch and no issue with the trans…Drove it 280,000 miles before i got rid of it for a uknown engine issue( i had no money.. still dont😞)
lol Had a friend with a New 1989 Escort GT (Thought was fast at the time lol), drive to college.
@@Kiss__Kiss 😱 dude.. sweet ride🤣.. Yep they had no power but it is what it is.. Like my 2016 versa cvt.. Its fast enough for what i do with it.. I drive like a grandpa.. i do not race from stoplight to stoplight.. others i know went thru 3 or 4 clutches.. mine still worked perfectly..
Taking it easy on a cvt is always a good idea, hopefully it helps it to last longer .
@@themechanic6117 even when i bought my versa.. seems the cvt’s died more in hotter climates.. And they added temp reduction advances over time.. IMO, weak design, stoplight to stoplight and acceleration abuse, and overheating killed most of them.. i heard the manuals have a design flaw also 🙈 A bearing or something fails
Even so, I'll take my chances with the manual trans lol
Anyone ever try lubegard gear oil supplement on one of these?
What's the gear oil capacity? How many liter?
2.6 liter
Do you know the size of the filler hole?
Sorry I dont
How many miles did you go between changes?
I'm not sure, I'd have to check owner's manual
Is there no dipstick to check fluid?
No there isn't
@@themechanic6117 I’m gonna punch Nissan in their cock. Thanks for the video man I know what I’ll be doing this weekend!
How many quarts ? when i drained mine almost 2 came out so i put 2 quarts back
I showed in the video how to make sure the transmission is filled
2.6
@@vids4fun thanks much
How reliable are these cars?
Upto 2013 models are extremely reliable, the model shown in the video made after 2013 are made by Renault and not reliable
I only have about 60k miles on my 2015 so I can't speak about reliability, plus I have a manual transmission
Nobody ask me how hard it was to find an 8mm square. I went to five different stores and NO ONE had it.
Amazon has the set. I believe it is 5/16
Change the fuel filter too....
Not sure if this car has an external filter.
Manual transmissions don’t have them
what is the capacity? thanks!
If I remember correctly you'll need 4 quarts
It's 2.11 quarts according to the specs.
Measure what you take out (assuming no leaks)
You should wear gloves Son that oil is not good for you, thanks for the video I'm going to do mine now 😃😃🧤🧤🧤
I usually do wear gloves , sometimes I just remove because it's a pain dealing with grease gloves and my camera equipment. Gloves are a must when it comes to vehicle chemicals 👍💯 . Thanks for watching
You get the rod knock in cylinder 2?
No my engine runs fine
