Should you use black matte acrylic paint for the base coat. Could you us semi gloss or gloss for the base coat of black?
I used an acrylic water-based paint but any finish will work for the background❤

This was an incredible tutorial that I found to be so very helpful! Thank you! I also love how you added the gold with the silver! :) I do however have a question if you don't mind me asking. How do you prepare the back of your canvas for this? I am afraid that the resin work and pieces will be too heavy and cause my canvas to sag (even though I do have keys to tighten it up). I did notice that the back of your canvas was black with something(?). Any suggestions for a beginner in regards to this? I have been wanting to try this for some time now but this is the primary reason why I have not yet. I am afraid I will waste resin and product with me using a store bought primed and prestreched canvas and not a wood board or panel. Thanks so much for this tutorial and your piece is absolutely beautiful :)

Do u have to spread your resin on the board fast so that it doesn't start curing while your in the process? I had a large board and by the time I was done mixing my resin and powders it started to harden so it hardly moved after I poured it on the board and I had to come back with a 2nd pour to fix it
No, not with this brand of resin. What brand were you using?
Did you mix hardner in the resin

I just use a cheap one, as long as it works it should be safe🙂

Not of the canvas is small. Only for larger canvases or use some cardboard on the back to prevent the resin sagging in the middle

I'm not a fan of art resin, too many bubbles and stinks! I used Teexperts Art Coat resin, worked fab!

How did you prepare your canvas for resin?
I used a good quality pre primed canvas.
You ALWAYS need to wear a mask while working with resin it’s chemicals

Beautiful, but as a beginner, totally worthless because you skip about 90% of the steps. Lovely, but I learned nothing.
