Someone heard something like a "fart" inside the plane while it was chargin their LiPo batteries, a bit of smoke went of the cowl, so, we had to take out the plane... then BOOOOOM!! FIRE!!, EXPLOSIONs!!, MORE FIRE!!, WALLET PAIN and more...
BOOOOOOM!!! FUEGO!!, EXPLOSIONES!!, MAS FUEGO!!, DOLOR DE BILLETERA y mas...
Battery charger: iMax B6
Battery: DualSky 2200Mah 25/30 C - Zábava
Best part is the lap around the car! XD
+Motherbrain Jr I was like: WTF IS HE DOING XD
At least he didn't panic.....much! XD
I also like the part where the guy in the coat is trying to blow out the fire. Fffft ..... ffftttt..... ffffftttttt... ;-)
Ralsch2 Looked like an Abbot and Costello act. Whos got the fire extinguisher. XD
yes,hahahahahaah!!!!!!!!
To everyone wondering why the dude ran around his car, he simply ran around the car at a high speed to create a vortex that would put out the flames. Sadly it didn't work.
TheCoolStuffHD he wasnt running fast enough, you need alot of spee to create the vortex.
🤣🤣
Quick, run around the white renault, that'll fix it.
you are a little late with that
juz70 Are you sure, i think its a Saab? lol
+juz70 or dacia 1300 , the same thing, dacia was mass produced then the renault 12
+ROAlexa1981 puterea daciei
my father had one and we crossed France with it ^^
Never charge a Lipo inside your model !
Darkonizer omg
***** You charge it in LiPo bags and it can blow all it wants. The fumes are seriously bad though.
Agreed though I've never had a problem with a LIPo I still don't charge inside my vehicle accept with NiMH batteries:)
My cellphone has a lithium ion battery in it, which I think is similar. It's an unremovable battery, permanently sealed in the phone. No possibility to take it out to charge. It has to be charged in the phone, via a USB charging cable. Is this a fire hazard for my phone, the same way it was for this model airplane?
Exactly why everyone says "Take the batteries out before you charge them" Because when they catch on fire, you can chuck them outside.
That cameraman running around his car sure is funny! WTF was he thinking....???
crapping his pants? ROFLOL! The award for the best reaction to a tragedy goes to the camera man! I am very sorry sorry to see the plane go up in smoke, I'm only laughing at the camera guy.
He was probably running to get the fire extinguisher out of his car, when he realized that they already got one. Have no other explanation for this reaction.
Hewab
almost right! i ran to get my extinguisher, but i just forgot the keys of my car inside the club... so y ran back to see the plane burning,
@@chimichangascroll ok, I‘m sure you’ll have the extinguisher near you next time. lol
lol
00:30 ninja 360 no-scope
00:45 captured the flag (car)
Fire? No problem! Run a lap around the cars! Problem Solved! 0:44
This video taught me something. 1. when you smell smoke make sure to put your face as close to the danger as possible. 2. This country must have great free health care where a model airplane is more expensive to repair than facial reconstructive surgery. 3. Fire extinguisher!? We don't need no stinking fire extinguishers at our flying field... we're real men. We can just blow out the fire.
dude... that's an "eagle eye" review of the video {Claps.mp3}
argentina dude! we are very special, and yes , the plane is more expensive than the surgery, we have free hospital for everybody including foreigners
0:42 Did he say "GOGOGO! Run around that car!"?
Lol. Think he was looking for an extinguisher.
He wasn't really searching, he just ran around...
CrYz xIRockstar LoL... He went for a lap
MFizzle777
indeed
MFizzle777
Yeap, then someone said I've got one, so he went back.
The most weird part was when the camera guy runs away in panic circling a car and then returns to see what happened LOL
Lucky for these guys, LiPo's have become much safer in the years. What they experienced was venting, a last-resort safety measure that prevents an explosion by letting the reaction put a hole in the battery and release gasses/smoke.
Deme el mata fuego colorao'!
I never charge LiPos in the aircraft, and when I am at the field or home they are charged in a LiPo safe bag. Thanks for sharing video and letting us learn off other's mistakes.
Holy shit - that went up suddenly! This vid is a great reminder of how dangerous LiPo's can be.
Question please! What is the floor inside the room covered with? Is that polished concrete? Thanks!
I love the fact that he tries to blow out the flames with his face right over the dangerous flames. Genius.
Some people should avoid tec...some people should avoid life and stay inside.
OMG, that lap around the car is so funny!!! I can barely breathe!!!!
I can't believe some actually had a fire extinguisher. If that had been our club the whole club and all the cars in the parking lot would have been lost.
And that's why you charge your batteries NOT in hundreds of dollars of RC aircraft.
great question you posed there but i guess it remains unanswered which makes the whole thing more mysterious.
0:27 There are sparks coming out of this, let me put my face near it.....geniuses at work.
Could someone tell me why he done a lap around the car I thought he had a fire extinguisher in it
no,,, but was pretty fun
A LiPo fire is a chemical fire. NO way of putting that out with water or a extinguisher.
Jay NelSon I think he saw that somebody else had a fire extinguisher.
Ha he wanted to save the controller
I think he needed to shake the shit out down his trouser legs
Sorry about your aircraft ,i can imagine how you felt watching this happen.I hope it wasn t too much trouble to fix ..at least you had time to take it outside...recently a whole Rc shop in the US burnt to the ground for what may have been faulty lipo battery explosion just like this one but no one was there to witness it so the whole thing ended up in a complete disaster .. got to be careful with those little thing ..can t get high without them....hope that luck is back on your side!
Mo Puccino don't worry about, the plane was fixed few days after without problems, the failure of the Lipo there was caused because the owner taped the batteries to the muffler of the motor (yes it's a gas plane). It's sad to hear about the shop you were talking about, everyone should have storage bags, or every seller should include it on the price of the batteries
Gonna need the 2 RC foam firetrucks from the last video I watched. Lol.
it caught fire because the rc plane was actually a note 7 in disguise
rc plane explode? run a lap in the parking lot.
Never put your face there when that explode
Sucks that the plane is damaged! But I laughed my ass off at the camera man doing a Chinese fire drill! He's no help at all!
i did my best running around that old car, and as you can see, it worked :E
thorleifjacobsen
you're welcome x3
These comments made me laugh tears...Sorry about the plane, but the quick lap around the car seemed to help....noted
in case of plane catching fire, quickly run around the white car and back, interesting tactic.
Nice reaction
is a gas model, the owner attached the bateries to the muffler, flew a few times and Voilà!
if you want see an awesome lipo esplosion, I recommend see my last video CRAZY 6600mah lipo explosion ......... awesome
Wow! Thanks for sharing...
Thank goodness that there was no pilot in that plane. My brother died the exact same way. Scary!
He died in his real plane while watching an RC plane burn on the ground?
Or did he die while watching a Lipo fire? Or by taking a lap around his car?
TELL US!
Robert Nilsson its a joke... -.-
wait, your brother is that small plastic pilot in there? didn't knew he died. I grieve with you.
Dmitrij Jukhimchuk
Yes, he is my brother from another mother. In this case, he does have a bit of stiff personality. He died giving others pleasure as he was burned to death and burning to death is a terrible way to live.
true, man. be strong
perfect example of why you never charge your batteries while inside the vehicle. I'm not sure if that is what you were doing but the description makes it sound that way. Ive never had this happen to me or any lipo explode for that matter but I have crashed many planes and ground vehicles so I feel your pain.
You guys were plane fire fight rehearsals?or were you into flying that archetype?
Look fire! RUN ROUND THE CAR!
The problem is its not catching fire its reacting that means almost nothing can stop it until the reaction is done or you are able to create a vacuum around.
Would argon arc-welding gas be enough to isolate it from the oxygen in the air, to put out the fire?
I came here to check how a lipo battery blows up, now I'm a fan of random laps around cars ahahahha
I think I'll go back to gliders
LOL look at these guys, running and panicking because a toy plane caught fire! I would hate to see how they react in a real emergency.
You know how much one of these models would cost? It isn't no "toy plane" either bud..
My bad - I guess the toy pilot was trapped as well! Emergency Emergency!
He was looking for a fire extinguisher.
That "toyplane" may cost more than a car :-)
***** Depends on what kind of car. If used car, yes.
wow. It's so HOT!
One year ago lipo explosed at my home
wow, how did that happen
"good" tactics
1. charge battery in plane
2. gather around and stick faces real close to make sure it is on fire
3. after big fireball, stick face real close again and blow air into small fire to make a bigger fire
4.go for a jog and run around a car and return to start position
5. finally use fire extinguisher
That was a cool aircraft. I'm sorry that it happened to you. Greetings from Arizona.
getting his cardio done for the day.
Holy fuego amigo frijoles!
That was filmed in Argentina. Lipo was a dualsky rc pack, and the airplane is a Extra 300 of TNT models
Was this in Romania? I recognised the white car the dude ran around as a Dacia, based on the Renault 12.
nope, it's in argentina, and it's a Renault 12, usually in argentina we have Renault instead Dacia, and Chevrolet instead of Opel
Why were they charging the battery while its installed in the model?
What C was it charging at and what pack was it? tia
it looked like they was charging it when the "poota matre" exploded. the lipo's when they get puffed out, they are on borrow time before they detonate. luckily no one got hit by shrapnel this time.
you'd think for an airfield that flies electric planes, they'd know to have a bucket of sand in case of such a thing... fire extinguishers can't actually 'put out' a LiPo if its on fire/smoking... most actually make it worse... only thing that really works is literally pouring sand over it.
Hikari batteries must be UN-Plugged to stop the juice,,, or ,, have a melt down
Batteries have to be un-plugged to stop the juice from going to 'other devices'. The fire from a LiPo battery, comes from the battery itself. Simply un-plugging it wouldn't do anything. You use sand for a LiPo fire because water actually acts as an accelerator, and makes the fire worse. Same for the 'fine particles' in the other types of fire extinguishers because of the chemical reaction created by both types of extinguishers and the battery... Sand works, because its tiny particles are made out of rock, which can't 'ignite', and its not a 'powder' like whats used in a fire extinguisher. So, it fully cuts the battery off from the air, and thus stops the fire. it even gets down into the cracks created by the expansion of the battery, and prevents further contact between the plates which are shorting out, thus stopping the 'short'.
So, if you play around with LiPo batteries, its always good to have a container or bucket of sand around... and its why alot of 'professional fliers' always say the same exact thing: have a bucket of sand handy.
Ahahaha..heeeeee heeeeee. Loved it!
LOL! Tries to blow out a burning lipo by lung😂
too bad... such a beautiful plane
Amazingly the battery was still putting out power, listed to the Servos!
how much did the plane cost?
LOL why you charche the lipo on board?
Are lipo batteries the same thing as lithium ion batteries (the kind of batteries that Tesla cars use, that are notorious for shorting out and igniting a fire that burns up the whole car)?
Ouch!
was this a CO² fire extinguisher ?
what was with that random lap around the car???
What was the make & model,of the lipo battery?
What year was the battery manufactured?
What year did the fire in the video occur?
Was the fire due to improper battery charging or just cell failure?
i dont remember if i gave you any answer to this... but the Lipo was DualSky 2200Mah (X2) was made the same year of the fire (2012) and was a cell failure caused by overheating and vibrations
Foxxs Warren
No, you didn't answer my questions until today. Thanks for finally responding with answers!
You wrote that the cell failed due to "overheating and vibration". Why did it over heat? DId you not size the cell/battery properly to the load (i.e. cause too much current to be drawn that the cell overheated)?
Its a gas plane, the battery was attached to the muffler... and after 3 flews it blew off.
Why would you attach a heat sensitive electronic device to a muffler?
A B its fun
That's a lovely table, perfect for car boot sales...
whats with the lap around the car..lol I thought he was going to get the extinguiser
Always get firextinguisher at hand when handling a lypo battery, never leave the battery connected at the plane while not in the air
Nice Dacia! 0:46
"Fuego fuego espera lo solucionare corriendo y dando una vuelta al auto" jajaja
funcionó al fin y al cabo, soy el heroe del club por el simple hecho de correr al rededor de un viejo R12
The planes that have built in lipo's tho I have never heard of it in a scale that big.
Next time I see fire I may run in a circle to see if it helps
They were going to get a fire extinguisher but someone already grabbed one.
Only one cell blew up! What caused it?
why did u use a fire extenguisher? its not like the hole thing caught on fire, blow the flame out :P
There's more to know before judging but this looks unsafe for several reasons. It might be like transferring gasoline in buckets near a campfire with a bunch of fireworks nearby. Charging lipo's in the plane is risky. The battery seems small for the plane. It may have been run too far down which is doom for a lipo. We work hard to avoid such as this. At least they were attending while charging, they had an extinguisher nearby, and they (belatedly) moved the plane outside. Too bad.
Poor guy. This is why you never, ever charge batteries inside the plane. Hopefully the damage to the fuse wasn't totally fatal.
the camera man was like: ohh the plane is on fire, i'll better go run around that car
Put salt water on lithium fires kills them instantly..
the cameraman going for a quick jog around the car has to be 1 of the oddest things i've ever seen. WTF!?
he was going to get a fire extinguisher
there was 3 battery packs, 2 of them were porering a CDI (its a gas model not electric) and the other was inside for servos and lights
TNT MODELS LMFAO go figure!
That was wicked close to their faces!
have you seen Back to the future? sadly i didn't got 88Mph
A perfect example here of why NEVER to charge lipos in the model...
do we know why the lipos exploded? Incorrect charging?
I like the "Wallet Pain"
What the heck type batteries were used inside model aircraft before LiPo's came along anyway?
Electric planes/helis weren't practical before lipos. Most were nitro or gas.
Ni-Mh, Ni-Cd, amd some of those and the cheap ones still uses it
Tiene una batería permanente, Muy Bien !
I have a question,
Why did you run and do a lap around the renault 12 then come back?
Did you think that running in a anti clockwise direction you could turn back time?
HAHA, CHER if I could turn back time, I could put out the flame, from that farting lithium polymer battery LOL HAHAHA
