Thanks so much for doing this video! I am both more and less nervous about the delivery and building of my Studiobricks booth this week, but at least this demystifies it a bit!
Just trying to keep it real and keep YOU informed.
The bear hug straps is a genius idea!
I found that my own booth's 'soundproofness' increased after the booth pieces had a few days to settle together.
The Uplift is an awesome idea! I need that for my SB One.
Really helpful video, which I've re-watched many times! My Studiobricks is the same size, but double walled. It was delivered yesterday! As you suggest in the video, I am opting for an adjustable height desk and will buy my Yellowtec accessories separately for it. One thing concerns me: my apartment that I rent has plastic laminate flooring, and I'm worried about leaving dents in it from the booth's weight. There are 16 rubber/felt Silent Blocks. Is there some material that you recommend to place under the booth to protect the floor? When I ordered it, Guillermo said he would send something, but he was quite vague about it, and now that I've opened everything, there's nothing besides the standard kit. In your experience, are the Silent Blocks usually adequate floor protection? Thanks, George!
You can put down a sheet of 3/4" plywood underneath to further distribute the weight and avoid damage to the floor.
@@GeorgeTheTech Thanks for the reply. That's what I ended up doing.
Always liked what I saw from StudioBricks. Couple questions. Does it stay comfortable in there after a while? I imagine he's in there for long stretches what with audiobook recording. Also, did it seem like this size would accommodate 2 (average sized) people for the occasional podcast recording?
We're waiting to found out how happy he is with the ventilation. Currently were sorting out a manufacturer's defect with the German made ventilation system.

Good ear!!
Hi there! I just bought an even larger one. Where did you get those cable management things?
Mine doesn’t have bass traps either and is 11.5x8.5. Wonder if I could add them later?
Contact StudioBricks for help. They will assist you.
As soon as you said the word "uplift" I was like "that aint clearing that trap" lol. I have 3 uplifts in my studio so I have become acutely aware of the vertical axis/clearance.
I have been strongly considering one of these and probably the same size.
My question is; I'm an acoustic snob. My booth is custom but will not have as effective reduction as one of these but I have it packed with fat custom panels. I can't stand the boxy sound and would be disappointed if I got one of these and I couldn't tune it well. Is what comes with it "good enough" or is it "excellent"? Did you have to take any special steps to get the box under control?
Thank you for the great video.
As a studio designer I too am an acoustics snob. I think they nailed it with this design, and these dimensions are pretty ideal, too. Save some dough and get the Standard (double wall) XXL model, though, and if you can clear it go with a height extension as it ALWAYS sounds better!!
Is the difference between Triple Wall and Double Wall that small?

regarding the uplift desk decision, did you still just order a standard VO edition and just not mount the desk (so there are still mounting points for desk on the wall)? I was wondering if studiobricks would just sell the Mika arm wall mount and allow you to exclude the desk altogether.
Just buy the One, One Plus, or XXL and buy the accessories yourself. That way you get exactly what you want.
Hi George, great video! Quick question about what appears to be an "Uplift" desktop mat? Does that really help absorb reflections from desk? If so, I went to their site but couldn't find one that looks like the one on the video. (Approx 9:55) Any thoughts regarding same or alternatives would be really helpful. Many thanks, Bob
Maybe a little tiny bit, better than just a hard surface.
Kinda figured same but curious. Thanks for the reply. '-)
