Thank you George for posting this of my husband, he is looking to seeing you at the next show!
Aside from your knowledge and skill I thank you for having a great voice, easy on the ears
That is awfully kind of you, Patricia!
I used iZotope RX 10 Advanced in conjunction with Adobe Audition 2024 and everything worked normally. This week I decided to update the RX to version 11, however, the audio volume during playback is very low. Previously I played the audio opened in Adobe Audition to the RX 10 through the RX Connect plugin and when playing this audio on the RX the volume was the same. Now with version 11 of RX the audio is played at a much lower volume. I accessed the RX 11 settings and verified that there are now controls to adjust the audio output volume, I adjusted these controls to 0dB, but even so the volume is much lower than in Adobe Audition. Can you tell me what could be causing this problem? I wouldn't want to have to go back to version 10 of RX.
Sounds like a Windows device driver issue
@@GeorgeTheTech Thanks for answering. I'll try updating the audio driver.
Hey George, does Dialogue Isolate show up as a plugin to DAWs or is it only in their editor?
Thanks so much for having me on the show, George! Loved our discussion! :)
You're always professional, pleasant, and a class act font of knowledge!!
@@GeorgeTheTech Thank you! ❤
Do it
Two of my favorite people right there! Great interview! Love what you're doing, Tracy! And congrats on the NAVA appointment! I doubly know we'll be well taken care of now (not that I didn't know it before. 😉)
I just purchased a studiobricks One Plus and had it built yesterday. I am very curious about the plug-in that you use for Pro tools that prevents the ventilator from getting into the mic.. I use Adobe Audition and I have a Neumann tlm 103 running through a an Apollo twin Duo X.
In her case I think I just used the expander/gate.
This is confused. The point of 32 Bit floating point is so that the internal bus can't clip - it's got nothing to do with your microphones. There is no mic with a dynamic range of 24bits, never mind 32Bits.
OK, thanks for your expertise. Mics are analogue and can have huge dynamic range (150dB or more), you are referring to the A/D converters which in this case are using 32-bit floating point conversion.
By your logic any mic could record in 32 bit float and we would never had clipping issues to begin with. I can’t understand how you came up with this reasoning and didn’t see the obvious flaw in it
@@GeorgeTheTech It's really confused - the dynamic range of 32Bit FP is 1528db. The manual says that the interface uses stacked converters, so that whatever your input SPL, the converter will always be able to match it. It has nothing to do with floating point resolution in the slightest, and certainly absolutely nothing to do with the dynamic range of mics or interfaces. Floating Point maths relates to the extra dynamic range required to represent wide ranges of combined audio leaving audio processes inside DAWs.
AND HEY HOW ARE YOU DOING THE COOL DOUBLE RECORDING???!!! IT LOOKS PRETTY DAMN COOL!!!!
Rode Capture app!
WOW!!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!
Julian Kraus sighting!
At what timestamp?
@@GeorgeTheTech Throughout.. 2:28. That him?
@@narrator-timothymckeandang sure looks like him! I spotted several CZcamsrs but never got to chat with any.
Being able to adjust the polar pattern is awesome. I'm going to have to look into that one more. That tiny figure 8 mic is interesting too. I think figure 8 is too often overlooked in VO. It's not just for two sources but can really help reject reflections in a booth because it's much tighter than cardioid, just treat the back well. Don't forget the MK4 as well. Sounds very close to an 87. Sennheiser is winning. Did he mention a price for that new dual-output mic?
Whoa! $3,200 for the Twin.
Yep, crazy expensive compared to the AA OC818, which I use and enjoy very much. @@narrator-timothymckean
@George The Tech I must have chatted with you before I visited the Sennheiser booth. I ended up buying the 8060 after I got home. Super amazing mic that I'll replace my 416 with.
The 8000 series are the next evolution in design from the 416, so that makes sense!
Great video, thank you for sharing. Perhaps a stupid question but is this plugin only for UAD kit? Many thanks.
Yes, C-Vox is UAD only.
@@GeorgeTheTech That’s a shame. Thanks for letting me know.
WOW!!! PRETTY DAMN AMAZING & COOL!!! THANKS TO THE BOTH OF YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!!
Is that a Windows laptop or mac?
MacBook Air M2
Fascinating-thanks George and David! I’ve been using C-Suite happily for a while but didn’t realize the effects were mutually exclusive, because it does allow you to tinker with both dials at the same time. Will need to make an appointment, GTT!😂
🙂 Promo_SM
George- this is really interesting!
what if it hangs on "Loading more rooms, please wait..." ? firewall is off
Good question for their support team!
George! Love this and your input at VO ATL. Any takes on the Apogee HypeMic, Antelope Axino, or Miktek Procast Mio? Thanks!
That's quite a random list of gear, and if I did I'd have a video on them by now :) HypeMic sounds great with the hype parts off, turn on only for Podcasting. The Axino at the current price amzn.to/4cz9uM5 looks like an incredible deal for a Podcaster, not so sure if it's up to the scrutiny of picky studio engineers (jury is out). The Procast Mio looks woefully outdated with a USB-mini jack from the 2010's, and not at all in the same class as the others.
So great I am ordering once my new booth comes in June ! Super stoked. I did have a question about the addition of base traps some small ceiling or some wooden corner ones. Do you think that will mess up the sound of this kit in the booth? Or do you think scratching basetraps with this set up? Booth size about the same as in this video.
These replace the need for almost any actors to install any corner "bass traps". As for "wooden corner ones" I'd have to see what model you're looking in to.
@@GeorgeTheTechsuper! Thanks for this. The less I have to have in there the better :-). More space to move and swing a mace or sword 😊
Hi George, this is great! But I'm not getting any results for this question (search bar in the transcript box): "What's the best fabric to cover rockwool panels?" Is that because I'm asking in the wrong place or because those answers aren't uploaded yet?
This is our customer service bot, so it's limited in functionality. The really smart bot is available in the Description below the video.
Thanks for sharing your journey. Question for you Rena if I may. How did you find Live announce or did it find you?
I recommend you contact her directly via her website
Muy inteligente, George. Humberto Franco claramente (sin juego de palabras) es una gran fuente de asesoramiento sobre tecnología de video.
Are these panels suitable for the newer Studiobricks booths or are these more for the older models that have less treatment?
Yes, but I'd certainly want to listen to the audio you're getting from your SB booth before recommending anything. It's very mic choice/placement/technique dependent.
Interviewer / host par excellence. Another niche conquered, George.
Wow, that means a lot, Matthew.
Great job, George. Anything you can do to work in more photo or video detail will increase the number of people who relate to the need and to your service as the solution.
Oh, you mean I should invest more time editing in a bunch of still images of the build process?
Thanks so much. Motivation for me! I would love to be on a mobile game that my great nieces, nephews and future grandchildren hear every day! Continued success on all levels to both of you! 😄
Sounds good!
Great video mate, great to meet a creator with the same size channel as me!
Thanks a ton! It's hard work to gain subscribers, I've been at it for years.
this piano is too expensive. I don't think it'll get many customers (IMHO) . For this money one can buy a good sounding digital piano.
If you really travel a lot (by plane, train, boat), alone (nobody helps you move big luggage), if you need to practice every day even in a limited space, if you often give concerts, then this is definitely not expensive. Yes, for the same price you can get a big digital piano that will have some extra features. But it won't be this portable and compact. The purpose of this piano is just to BE COMPACT AND PORTABLE, those are its primary benefits that one buys it for. If you sit in your recording studio all day and go play on a stage somewhere once in a while, then of course it's pointless and you're better off buying another instrument. But I certainly don't think the target audience for this instrument is small.
This plugin has got to be the most useful I've found in my 30+ years. Simply fantastic
This is just an inspiration from moduler tech Lumi Keys by Roli. All credits to the real inventor. But this one not affordable to all. That's the difference.
The Merry Bakers is what the modern society needs. The modern "entertainment" is sick, especially music.
Thanks, George. I'd been waiting for your review on this. Not that I would indulge gear lust and buy one because it's new. I thought that if my Focusrite interface craps out I should consider just replacing it the Rode NT+ and have one more bit of clutter and tangle of cables out of the way. Not so. Your description of what the mic is best used for does an excellent job of clarifying its advantages, disadvantages, and optimal uses.
I'm very surprised Rode put out another USB at that price point. It seems to be more of a marketing push than an honest improvement on their past efforts. Thank you for that concise overview. I'd like to see what they actually produce in Gain as opposed to the numbers given. The hiss was a big surprise for me. I am somewhat dismayed that it came through so clearly. Do you think you got a defective unit?
I don’t think so, I’ve heard a hiss from the NT USB mini as well.
This was so helpful! Thank you George. One change, it's now 2024 and Source Connect Now was replaced by Source - Nexus.
Glad it helped! Yes, but SC Now still works and I continue to use it.
Most interested in the ability to remove the noise that is behind a voice, and not just remove noise when no one is speaking.
Can this be adjusted more gently so that it doesn't sound like the speaker is using a Push-To-Talk switch like on a police radio every time he stops talking? It's really unsettling to hear everything go totally dead when somebody takes a breath. Things need to sound like they have a space or some ambience, and by that I don't mean loud room tone.
Yes, less of a gate effect. Get a free demo and see what happens when you turn the knob to the left.
That 2nd recording sounded like an AI. Cold and hostile. Interesting a person deliberately does that stylistically to their own vocal tone..I find it unsettling but that is what a bank/government etc…wants for their phone recordings. Makes me think of calling the state or feds.
Yep, I keep telling my clients to sound as little like an AI voice as possible
@@GeorgeTheTech it’s odd, melodic lilts up and down in sort of randomly chosen ways..on top of it being accented emotionally in a unnatural way…how a robot would think sounds upbeat. Like it’s all chopped up from random audio and spliced…and yet it’s a person doing all that deliberately. Definitely a specific skill…unless it is an AI?
Note that since I produced the video the price has been set to only $29!
Honest review. Breath of fresh air.
Her s’s aren’t sibilant but they sure are LOUD. A simple de-esser function would’ve also been nice. Email blast today is offering it for 29 bucks.
Yes, it's $29, low price, low bar. There is a lot of room to improve this, we'll see what comes...
I needs autogain bad
WOW!!!! This looks amazing and I'm going to consider using this in place of Audacity!!!
Great idea, but sounds horrible and seems like key travel is to little, which would be annoying.
Shoot. I gotta get back to Clubhouse again. Thank you George
