Correction: Yuri Lowenthal (who voices Spider in the PS4/PS5 game) does not do the voice of Spider-Man in the Avengers game. He does voice Spidey in the upcoming Midnight Suns video game though.

There is a Mighty the Armadillo in the Sonic Franchise. He's a member of Chaotix, but disappeared from the games for quite a while before popping back up in Sonic Mania Plus.
Furthermore, Mighty actually first appeared in an obscure Sonic arcade game from 1992, meaning Mighty has existed longer than characters like Amy, Metal Sonic, and Knuckles.

@@garbageboy8857 No, there are four members of Chaotix, and they only needed three characters for Heroes, so Mighty was the one they ditched. Until Mania they basically pretended that he never existed.

Amidst the hype of all the MCU content announced- I’m glad Nick Maso brought up as his one of two bit of news that Marvel’s math really screws over creators. More attention should be brought to that
Especially if Disney really did spend 25 mil on a fake Infinity Guantlet just to put in a display case for a comic con.
Could have spread some of that 25 mil to comic creators, special effect artists, etc.
That's really between them and the contract they chose to sign without reading/understanding. I would argue that noone really cared who Yelena Belova was until Florence Pugh brought her to life. Same with Scarlett Jo and Black Widow. Sure the creators probably deserve a bigger cut, but none of the Captain America and Ironman film adaptations ever made any millions until Feige, Downey and Evans came along.

I think we have to remember that the multiverse saga has so many more projects packed into those 4 years with all the shows
That’s part of the problem some people have with this current phase/saga, too much going on in such a short amount of time. The projects can feel rushed and there isn’t breathing room to anticipate the next project
That Gray Man part is the most honest review you guys have ever done.

Prediction: The X-Men from the animated show (in non-animated form) will appear in an Avengers 5 credit scene and feature in Avengers 6 as the result of an incursion.
I'd absolutely love to see Janssen, Jackman, Berry, Marsden, and Paquin in appropriate 90s style attire...like Xavier in MoM. Idc how old they are now.

Thank you for a great rundown of SDCC - felt really quiet this year, despite all the Marvel news, and I guess some of that is DC's lackluster panel. For some reason, I just expected...more? And I agree that this Multiverse Saga seems to be too quick, which is unfortunate.
Anyway, enjoy the break, gentlemen! I'm going to miss tuning in on Monday for a new Weekly Planet (and over the week for all your other great content) but you deserve the time to relax or get up to whatever you want (that is legal, I suppose). Thanks for all the entertainment!

Prediction: when Ramonda says her entire family is gone, she means it. Shuri dies too. Shuri goes to the ancestral plain and is guided by Killmonger, who sits at an entrance to the plain but cannot get in to rest. He shows her a final ingredient to manufacture the heart-shaped herb, and she returns and tries to become Black Panther while Nakia brings her and T'Challa's baby to term (note, NOT the baby we see born underwater in the teaser...look at the ankles, that's Namor's birth in a flashback). TWIST: Bast rejects Shuri, but accepts RAMONDA. THAT'S who we see at the end of the trailer, fighting Namor and securing Wakanda...forever. The trilogy of BP films will end with a final film showing the young son of Nakia/T'Challa earning the throne and the title of Black Panther, becoming a Young Avenger (maybe the leader), while Nakia becomes Queen Mother. #TrustInCoogler

I'd love to hear the Classique Booke Clubbe take on 'New Statesmen' by John Smith and Jim Baikie, it's a British comic from the late 80's and is kinda a prototype version of 'The Boys', with more politics and less swearing! It's only 15 issues and I think you can get it in a compendium. I loved it at the time, but I wonder if it holds up today?

It's definitely Shuri in the Black Panther suit. Look at the ankles/shins and overall slight build. AND if you look closely at her arms, there are panther symbols on them like her panther hand blaster thingies from the first film.
Shuri builds it no matter what tho, so that cant confirm it. I think multiple women will wear the costume throughout
The newly released poster certainly seems to imply it's Shuri.
I doubt they would make her Black Panther. The actress caused them a lot of issues. Would be weird to turn around and give her a bigger role. I think it will be Michael B Jordan. But who knows. No matter what people will be mad and hate it.

The new Dungeons & Dragons movie is set in the Forgotten Realms world (as opposed to a generic setting).
The multiverse saga may only be four years but how many projects are encapsulated in said saga? So far it will be as many, if not more, than the 24 you had for the first 3 phases.
Has James stopped the Westworld bit? It's so weird & shocking to hear what we're reading without it.

I make fun of the Homecoming titles as much as anyone, but Freshman and Sophmore year make perfect sense for titles about a teenager's highschool years. I'd imagine the third and fourth seasons would be called Junior and Senior year.

I hope they split the avengers up between the two movies. Instead of making it Kang is part 1 and secret wars is part 2, they should just have half the team in one adventure and the other half doing the other adventure. One is time travel and the other is multiverse. They’re similar and intertwining concepts but can be explored differently

High Evolutionary is cool in Hickman's Fantastic Four, which I recommend everyone read. it's the best FF comic ever, and a cornerstone for the Secret Wars saga that the MCU is now adapting

Am I the only one that thinks that new D&D movie looks exactly like the old 90s one? I mean in terms of tone. Obviously, better effects. But other than that...
You’re not wrong they both have a campy feel and something they said about the old movie being generic but this movie also seems to be using a formula we’ve seen a lot in a scrappy band of outcasts have to save everything cue 80’s rock song. Not going to lie I do think it looks great but it also feels very much like GOTG but DND.

I don't get the pessimism with Black Adam. It looks cool. It's far more interesting than anything Disney Marvel has released lately and that's coming from a big Marvel fan.
I hope it's good but to be fair it does look pretty generic; as James said, lines like "My powers are not a gift, they are a curse" were considered cliched back in the mid 2000s. Everyone clowned on Morbius because it looked bland as well.
