- It's time for move bad movies that did badly at the box office video game edition! This week, 2010's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time starring one Jacob Gyllenhaal as the titular Prince Dastan. It basically boiled down to this being Disney's attempt at another Pirates of the Caribbean but instead of turning out like Pirates of the Caribbean it turned out like that bad Pirates of the Caribbean. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

This film is so forgettable I’ve already forgotten what happens in this review.
The Lego sets were cool as hell tho
Fun note about the beginning bit. The third entry of the Prince of Persia game ending up being the first Assassin’s Creed game
When we watched Not Without My Daughter in 10th grade as our geography "lesson" on Iran, my classmates asked me (a persian) if that was what Iran was like.
But when Prince of Persia came out no one asked me if I could do any prince of persia stuff.
I think that's unfair.
You can tell Ben Kingsley was going to be the bad guy, because he's in the movie.
No actual Persians were harmed during the making of this movie*
*: Because no actual Persians were cast for any major roles.
I'm pretty sure that in mythology, Hercules was killed by a poisoned cloak. It was slathered in Greek fire, which burst into flames, and caused Hercules so much pain that he begged those around him to put him out of his misery. Very unrealistic, unless you've heard of the gimpi gimpi 😉
I think I read a version of this story where a centaur deceived Hercules' wife to dip a cloak in the centaur's blood, which turned out to be poison.
Despite it's flaws, i actually really enjoyed this movie.
The movie is clichéd, sure, and borrows elements from the games it’s based on, obviously, but also plenty of older epic fantasy movies.
The story is fun, for what it is. Which is a rough retelling of the video game “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”, while incorporating elements of the following two sequels in the SoT trilogy. It also incorporates elements from the original Prince of Persia and it’s follow-up games.
The movie feels like a classic “sword and sandal” action-adventure, borrowing heavily from films like ‘The Thief of Baghdad’, the Ray Harryhausen ‘Sinbad’ movies.
Is it as cheesy as that sounds? YES! Is it as awesome as that sounds? YES!
But it’s still well edited, well acted, well scored (Harry Gregson-Williams never fails), and overall well done enough to merit an enjoyable experience.
The ONLY complaints I can think of are few.
There’s a bit too much unnecessary CGI. Too much random slow-motion. The sexual-tension seemed too forced (too many of those really slow “they’re about to kiss but don’t” moments). And whereas yes, the ending is supposed to have a “Deus-Ex-Machina” feel to it, in the game it’s much more thoroughly explained, in the movie you’re just expected to roll with it.
Other than that. A fun movie. Sit back and have fun with friends, family and loved ones, recapturing the fun escapism of your childhood with an epic but cliché action movie.
I'd rate this movie a 7 out of 10.
Persians and Arabs are different ethnic groups.
The correct term for the people protrYdd is actually still Iranians.
"Persian" is an exonym ie the Greek name for Iran.
Just as Greece is an exonym ie the Latin name for people from "Hellas"
Just put the podcast on the other channel ffs...
