Have you used constant lights for photography?

Just stumbled by…I, too, am experimenting with constant lights, focusing on the GVM 300w (2) in lantern soft boxes, with a curved reflector, somewhat ala Peter Hurley, on a budget…lol…

Fantastic video! So glad I ran across your page. Question, what are you using to tigger your Aputure lights? There’s very little information out there on it and mostly everything I’ve come across has been a Westcott set up. I noticed you were triggering your Aputure lights with a reciver on your camera and was curious on what you were using.

Thank you! The trigger was for the Godox AD400 Pro only.

I am looking to buy either a used 120d or 120ii for self tapes, is there one you prefer over the other for flattering, soft lighting?

Flattering soft lighting will come from your modifier, not the light itself. Go for a large soft box.

3 years later, do you still do this, or have you gone to strobes?

Strobes. This set up was just too much to put together and also the output is not enough. If you get a Westcott flex kit it has enough output as a constant light set up. This set up was just far too cumbersome to use whenever I don’t have my own studio.
