- (This method is only for smartphones, do not try it on tv screen or monitors) This is an experimental video, in this video, I have used 3M 1500 grit sandpaper and cerium oxide for removal of the scratches. I have removed scratches from my old Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro (gorilla glass 3) which was scratched badly almost there was a layer formed by the scratches which cause visibility issue and ghost touch issue sometimes. So, I first removed that scratched layer with 3M 1500 grit sandpaper and then polished with cerium oxide to remove minor scratches, you can also use 3M 2000 grit sandpaper depending on-screen damage.

this is the most indian tutorial i ever watched especially with that tool he crafted XD

I personally thing that using sandpaper is a rather risky move. Although it may be the only way to get very deep scratches out of the glass, it may result in an uneven finish and if you use the wrong type of sandpaper, can render your phone unusable. Unless there really are very deep scratches on your screen, I would reccoment that you steer clear from the sandpaper. If you choose to use it, use sandpaper of a very high grit number (2000 grit to 3000 grit) and which should be available online of at most hardware stores.
Need to use water. 1500 or above won't scratch glass. But this is the important part, some cell phone screens are plastic. Now you have to use a polisher as well.
@@ultimaone3189 I agree, i use high grit 1000-2000 to wetsand on headlights. then buff out. The headlights look brand new unless the scratchs are too deep.
@@ultimaone3189 no mobie screen is plastic wtf
Thanks for making this video. The result looked great. Did you have any touch screen issues after doing this? I am considering doing this to a used phone with some deep scratches. Don't worry, I won't blame you for any damages, haha.
are you sure it's cerium oxide
bcz it's from rare earth metal, that are soo expensive
how to remove scratches off a oneplus 7's back glass ?
Don't do this people it completely destroyed my screen, now there's million of scratches on my screen
Don't worry, maybe those are the hairlines. If you used 1500 grit paper then now you should use 2000 grit paper and then polish with cerium oxide until those hairlines disappears.
Please do some research.
2000 grit 2500 grit and 4000, 6000 grit paper will remove all minor scratches from 1500 grit and polish it up with a polish compound or that stuff he used.
If your screen was plastic type. Of course it would be worse.
I believe you. The best solution is to replace the touchscreen and put clear duck tape.
What is the hand held polisher buffer he is using? I could not find anything like it!
I used to play pubg 2 years ago that's when i got thumb scratches on my screen...is there any method to remove those thumb scratches from my screen (gorilla glass 5)
Is the method of sanding Gorilla Glass 5 suitable for the OnePlus 6T B screen? For hallway use only 1500
no but polishing it is
Do you think Cerium Oxide can work on gorilla glass tv screen? it has an area 3x4inch of cloudy looking scratches, they are extremely soft it looks more like a dirt but isn't a dirt :) Thanks for the video!
Have you tried tooth paste and a soft cloth with those?
1500 grade?
Hi bro, will this work for iPhones as well ?
no, you have to trash it and buy android like normal human being 😁😁
Its good and you can use masking tape to bordar so it's safety for your mobile and it's also usefull If you u use 2000 sign paper
should have used masking tape or electrical tape to mask off the edges and speaker/mic
Can this be used on original screen? My original screen is scratched,hv a few scratches,I hv the Samsung a52 one btw, will it work?
There were fucking brats playing around with my phone while I wasn't around. My phone got a lot scratches and thank God I find your video. I'll try this tomorrow and I'll tell you the result. My phone has Gorilla Glass 3 and IP68 certification (Kenxinda W9 Pro)
have you tried this ?
How's the result?
now hes MIA
😂😂
Sorry for the late report 😅 didn't work, I have sold it for cheap dirt.
Just use your reliable tempered glass
now just buy an oleophobic fluid to resurface the rest of the screen and good as new.
I have scratches on my drawing tablet. anybody has experiences on using this method on drawing tablet?
Thans for sharing. Very helpful 😊
Bro does it work on back glass. Please make a video.🙏🙏🙏
This method will work on any scratched glass, whether on the front, or back of your phone, or the glass on your bathroom mirror. For plastic backed phones you can even just use baking soda, but glass you need the cerium oxide.
@Shivamm Rane
Can I use Cerium Oxide to remove scratches of my iPhone 12 display?
Yes bro
how was it? please tell me because i need to do that to may iphone12 too
Guys... Update: i tried only the cerium oxide part without the sandpaper.
First i used microfibre in circular motion, scratches were still there.
Then i tried wool polisher with cerium oxide, the result was that oleophobic coating got removed and the display developed more scratches due to the cerium oxide :'(. Anyway I'll try the sand paper in a week or 2 and update
Depends if you had a glass or plastic screen
What happened? Can it work on old Nokia C5 t9 phone or 5310 2020? I had Nokia c3-01 resistive touch phone with hairline scratch just applied protector can't see it now
@@dinozaurpickupline4221if it has a plastic screen then sadly it will make the scratches more bad, it it’s glass then it will surely work
@@icy5619 it has glass 😂 it's clean af
@aur2139 maybe your mobile display plastic glass! Cerium oxide work well in normal glass type not for plastic glass
Can this work on specs ? Fibre glass???
Hi, i wanna know if it works for the borders of the phone ? I have tiny shock scratches and I wanna know it it works for that too
Not do it on corners, as there is more chance of entering liquid from corners
@@ShivamRane neither on the bezels ? My phone has scratches in the bezels too
Thats risky
@@ShivamRane thank you, then I won’t do it , do you know what else can I use to remove them ?

Nice video, thank you for the information
Can I use same trick for policing fibre glass like back panel scratches
Try a small corner.. fiberglass is more like plastic so it may cloud up more easily. Use light not hard pressure and id personally before wetsanding use a compound and then polish on it if that doesn't work wetsand then polish
You can use a finer powder that is at a lower hardness level.
Will it work on redmi not 5 pro
Nice work 👌
Bhai Sara Colgate kaam karega kya pls bata do
Thank you man 🚀🚀🚀🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Did you make or buy the small electric polisher you use in this video?
I made it
What kind of materials you use to as polisher?, is it sponge or cloth
You can use both
Good
Video but i have 1 question hope youd reply ASAP cuz im planning to do same thing..if uou use the 1500 sand paper would i use xtra force when trying to scrub the lcd or will i have to do it very lightly.....and do you think that i may apply this option to my samsung note 8...thank you very much nice video very educational and informative as well
Depending on how much your screen is scratched, I'll suggest 2000 grid sandpaper
Looks good
How tf u remove scratch with sandpaper?
You can't remove it. It can make more scratches on the screen. I try it and I,ve hundreds of scratches.
@@antresia.9723bro if you use really fine sand paper like 2000-2500 ut wont harm ur screen
Can this technique be used for Lens glass also ?
If it is a layer of a scratches then only do it otherwise don't do for few scratches..
Check on amazon
😂😂bhai india mai hai Hindi mein bola kar
There is no scratch on the screen. It's just smudged
Bro is ur lg g8x good for gaming
Yes
Are you kidding me sandpaper can make more scratches on your screen.
Yes he is a idiot
look at how proffesionals fix even deep scratches on glass like mirror or car windshields.... they use so aggresive sandpapers you see glass particles flying in all directions.... thats how you remove scratches from glass-you just scratching off thin layer of glass so that scratch groove is on level with rest of glass.... at the end its rough but you just polish it to its smooth again
Just put a goddamn tempered glass
Why? Covering the scratches doesn't make them go away and screen protectors are dreadful
LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lg g8x me jb HDR feature ON krke video record krte h or fir use kinemaster me edit krte h to vo video ekdm dull ho jata h.......koi solution h iska ??...ya fir koi other video editing app suggestion jisse esa na ho?
This is because kine master is converting hdr video to non hdr. May adobe Premier will work.
@@ShivamRane lg g8x doesn't support premier pro
Bhai Hindi mein video banao ❤️❤️❤️
The screen surface looks different BECAUSE YOU REMOVED THE OLEOPHOBIC COATING!!!!
You can put it back bro...the chemical do sell okay
Prrroblim🤣
I would rank this "Repair" procedure in the top 1% most idiotic ideas. There is a reason why the glass on phones, tablets, and laptops is replaced rather than repaired. Rather than typing out a detailed analysis, I'll just touch on a few of the major issues at hand. Let's start with the coating. All screens have a layer on the outside that consists of a mixture of polarization, anti-glare, anti-reflective, and/or anti-fingerprint properties. This AR/AG and oleophobic coating is obliterated with every stroke of the sandpaper and every revolution of buffing pad doped in CeO2. If you think a scratch on a screen is bothersome, after this abysmal hack you will not be able to use you phone in any bright light conditions. The oils left behind from every touch on the screen will become unbearable, highlighted and further aggravated by the lack of AR/AG in the presence of external light sources such as the sun or overhead lights. There is also the issue of the CeO2 working it's way into the tiny holes used for the microphones and speakers, the inherent water damage (as water is used as the CeO2 carrier) is further exacerbated with the increased conductivity of CeO2. Edit: There is also the issue of weakening the glass due to the properties present in all laminate/gorilla/saphire glass. I'm tired of typing, you can find more with a simple web search, using terms such as "Lipophobicity". TLDR: Buy a new screen.
Buying a new screen would cost min 5000 rs / near about 70 dollars, and watch video properly it can be clearly seen that screen is badly scratched and all the coating are removed already. Polarized layer is situated under the glass for LCD displays..
@@ShivamRane Although I mention a polarized layer, it was referring to non touch devices such as monitors, tvs, etc. I have removed the polarized film on a couple of monitors to use as a privacy monitors I can indeed inform you the layer is right on top. I only mentioned these non touch devices because I can see some kid watching a video such as this and thinking (s/)he can fix the scratches on his/her monitor the same way this guy removed them on his phone. It would completely destroy the film rendering the monitor useless. I tried to make my comment universal for all screens, not just phones. It has become apparent that some people may become confused, especially if they fail to fully understand the underlying technologies of a device. Samsung is the predominant manufacturer of cellphone screens, and has been for a long time now. You might own an iphone, but Samsung still made the screen. Almost all of the screens they produce now for this purpose are (Super-/)AMOLED. LCD technologies are very rarely used in mobile phones anymore and have been obsolete for some time now. Phonearena has an article on Gorilla Glass and there is a video here on Yt by Corning. Also search wikipedia for: Comparison_of_CRT,_LCD,_Plasma,_and_OLED_displays I'd suggest you refrain from using two periods to end a comment if the subject alludes.
The oleophobic coating can easily be re-added to any device, it really is not an issue, plus doing this correctly with a larger polishing pad would give your screen a more even polish and you're only removing a microscopic layer of the screen which will not affect it's functions as long as all precautions are taken like sealing your earpiece, buttons, microphone holes etc.
@@Zeltroix Agreee! @Cameron J Your arguments are pretty poor. You wont remove polarized layer by sanding with 1500 and or 3000 p sandpaper, nor with any fine polish wax. Oleo and hydrophobic layer can be re applayed.
Once you have done this just put some klasse sealant glaze on it or ceramic coating. I used klasse sealant glaze (about 5 coats) and then finished with a quick application of megs ceramic detailer. The screen is smooth as hell and has no fingerprints 3 weeks later.
