    This is twice now you had the best instructional trick videos on youtube, the first one for me was the no comply 180. You break down the ticks better than anyone else.

    I lost a pair of shoes while learing nose stall/nose slide because I kept dragging my front-foot suuuper hard to the nose and it caused a hole in the sole of my shoe. I recommend people to give a little "jump" to move their feet (if they fell confort to do so), otherwise I strong recommend using a old pair of shoes you won`t mind losing.

    A tip that helped me with nose stalls: really imagine that you have to step the curb/box while lifting your back-foot weight. If you do so, the skate will follow your movement and you minimize the chances of over lifting the nose. When you think too much about the skate it`s almost automatic to lift your front-foot too much.

    Videos apparently I never watched back in the day. I love all the variations at the end, that body varial and, uhh.... When you jam your nose in at a 45 then sorta turn 90 and come out fakie. Defs on the list :D

    Do you have an instagram I could follow? I'm a 35-year old mom trying to re-learn how to skateboard after almost 20 years and your tutorials and teaching style are better than any other videos I've seen on CZcams! Right now I'm still in the phase of just getting comfortable on my board. If you're looking for video ideas it'd be great to have a 10-week recommended routine to follow (similar to a workout plan) so I can feel like I have something to follow along with. I have two kids so I'm pretty much limited to an hour a day if I'm lucky, but I'm having so much fun in my one hour and it really gives me hope that by the time my oldest is old enough to actually be able to safely skateboard (he's almost 3 now) I'll be good enough to teach him properly.

    • @SarahParkMatott
      @SarahParkMatott  Před 3 lety

      That's awesome! Both that you're getting back into skating and that you want to be able to teach your son. I do have an instagram @sparkmatott There are links to it in my newer videos if it's easier to click one of those!
      And that is definitely an idea I've been playing with. I'm kind of working through a way to approach skating from the beginning, but that will take a bit! My list of videos to make is getting really long. Right now, I would definitely recommend looking into a little freestyle skateboarding footwork. Freestyle has a ton of tricks you can start learning early on in skating after you feel good riding on flat ground. Slow monterwalks, slow endovers, tail stop shuffle, switchblade and walk the dogs. These are all footwork that don't even require jumping (except the switchblade does have a hop). And they got me to improve my comfort on the board very quickly without just rolling around. It's like a nice medium between rolling and scary tricks. I would point you over to Mike Osterman here on CZcams too for this. He has some great tutorials for beginner footwork. And I'll put "10 week skate starter program" in my notes to think through! :D

    So you basically do a small manual and then shift your weight to the nose?

    • @SarahParkMatott
      @SarahParkMatott  Před 3 lety +2

      That is kind of...exactly it. 😃You just want to time lifting up the nose right onto the ledge💪 it is like a mini manual lol

    Do you have any tips for skating switch?

    • @SarahParkMatott
      @SarahParkMatott  Před 3 lety

      I started learning switch with tic tacs. I would ride regular and then pivot to fakie. I’d adjust my feet to be in switch and do tic tacs right there. So, I was comfortable with tic tacs before I even tried to push switch. It worked pretty well for me. If you’re talking about other tricks, I started adding switch tricks in a few months ago. I would do the trick regular three times and then try to so it switch three times. This method helped me a lot. My switch shove it and ollie have gotten much better. 😃

    How do I body varial when I do this? I don’t know how to break it down lol

    • @SarahParkMatott
      @SarahParkMatott  Před rokem +1

      I would practice the tail stop shuffle on the ground. Mike Osterman has quick a tutorial for it here (last trick I think he calls it a switch foot here) czcams.com/video/uO1cw7Vfr-8/video.html But, basicaly getting used to be able to do that motion in tail stop. Being able to lead the trick with your shoulders. That will make working up to a body varial here totally doable.
