That’s how you can tell that she’s a doctor 👩⚕️ haha
@@baddestdonut8658 not all doctors have that gift 😅
It's quite strange, but for 5 or 6 years I lived with rosacea without even thinking and caring too much, had not a single anti-rosacea product, didn't even use a moisturizer, and it was totally okay and never went out of control. Actually, the only summer when it got better was 3 years ago, the one that I spent sunbathing. This year I suddenly remembered my diagnosis, started reading, watching videos, buying special products. And this is when it got worse. So caring too much and freaking out is what triggers it for me. And stuffy spaces.
Have you tried any strong tetracycline antibiotics, Laser treatments like Candela V-Beam and/or Rosadyn capsules? Also wear high SPF sunscreen to protect your skin! Ivermectin cream is also reputed to work pretty well!
99 % of moisturizers make is worse for me. Also 100% of serums unfortunately. Washing with cleanser make my skin quite dry so I have to skip couple of days a week. If I do it 0 times and don't exfoliate it was also get worse. It is a very fine line to do it right and not worsen it
My god, you are the best Dr Dray!! There’s not a dermatologist appointment in the world, where anyone would get this much information about a skin disease. Seriously - you’re a treasure to CZcams. Thank you. ❤️
Thank you so much! hOp you have a great weekend!
I know! I love her... I've NEVER had an appointment 0.1% as thorough and complete as her videos. I've followed her for years and told soooo many friends about her and they all love her, especially ones who are premed or in STEM.
Some medical professionals see all of these skin diseases as a "cash cow." The Money's in the medicine, NOT the Cure!

Yes Doc!! Thank you so SO much for listening to us!! We are so appreciative for all your recommendations and thank you for sharing your knowledge!! Love, a gal with rosacea ❤️
Every dermatologist I've seen has said it has nothing to do with my gut. You are a wealth of knowledge
Yes! I have figured some of these food issues out this past year. When I got extremely stomach sick a few years ago I started getting flare ups .when I started avoiding spicy food , coffee, powder foundation and drying makeup all cause flare ups for me . Green tea face wash , lavender hydrosol and lots of moisture helps so much . Thanks for all your compassion. 💚
Dr. Dray thank you so much for putting in the time to share this information!
Your hair is so pretty! Thank you for the help with Rosacea 😊
You've been so helpful to me personally since this winter kicked in! Love from Egypt 🇪🇬
OMG YOU LOOK SO GORGEOUS IN THIS VIDEO!!! You have the most perfect skin and eyelashes, no makeup needed at all. I’m so jealous 😭😭😭😭
I'm screwed. All my fave foods are in that list... 😥
😣
I would try them and see if they trigger your rosacea. It's different for everyone.
Me too:(
same :^(
Why does stupid rosascea even exist
Oh be still my heart, Dr. Dray handing out some info for us red faced fans
Have a splendid weekend Dr. Dray!!!! Loving the new setup!!
Unbiased research and trustworthy data, this is very clearly communicated on you're video's and why I watch you. You give reliable information and not try to sell you're viewer's what l call hope in a bottle. Congratulations on your good work.
Happy Friday, almost the weekend ☺🍁
Thanks Ms Shari! Happy Friday 🍂💜🍂🍂💜
This is sooo helpful! Thank you so much Dr. Dray! You have great skin by the way.
Your skin looks amazing!! I can see a noticeable difference from your videos 1+ years ago. I know you hesitate to talk in detail about your journey with Retin-A, but I think a huge portion of your viewers would love to hear about it and any differences you've noticed!
Thanks for the advice! As a rosacea sufferer it’s so hard to figure out a routine to even help in the slightest but mine has gotten better after starting retin A and a very strict facial cleansing/moisturizing routine... you and my dermatologist have helped so much! Thanks again!
Dr. Dray, you always present yourself very nicely but your skin in this video is off the charts!! You actually have a pearlescent sheen/glow which is beautiful!! Thank you for the rosacea info as well...I appreciate whatever information you are kind enough to share.
Thanks!
Thank you so very much for a Fantastic video!! I love the Q&As!!
Glad you enjoyed Ms Jackie :)
Dr. Dray, as a rosacea sufferer. I truly appreciate your honest and no nonsense information. Enjoy your weekend.
thanks!
I have type 2 Rosacea. Thank you for this video! And since I took your recs about nixing fragrance from my facial care products and makeup, and using Vanicream and Eucerin Redness Reducing cream, my rosacea looks better now than it has in years.
glad to hear
Thank you for this video! So helpful to people like me who have rosacea but not a great rapport with her derm due to having a hard time getting scheduled and then a hard time talking to her, she’s very quick, in and out so it can be hard talking about anything. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching!
That's my experience as well and most just want to prescribe a quick temporary fix rather than get to the root cause of the symptoms. It's so frustrating. There are a lot of bad dermatologists out there. One I went to about 15 years ago scarred me for life (unrelated to Rosacea). I am now very leary of visiting any Derm or Doctor.
Question: What do you call a doctor that graduated last (place) in their class?
"Doctor"
Stress brought my rosacea into play...it's mild but still...I have a flare immediately after having a major stressful day or hiccup. Also...just learned that gluten and dairy are big ones for me. I'm nearly vegetarian so all these foods in the list below I eat daily. But by doing a major gluten dairy fast and just cutting back or limiting the other foods...I saw a huge difference. I really feel like the gut is THE major player in my rosacea. Thanks for this!
Thank you for this informative video Dr. Dray! I always learn something new from you. Happy Friday!🍂🍁🌾
Good information - my younger sister has rosacea symptoms and I am researching information to give her some much needed direction - this is most helpful.
Same here 🥰.
I used to flush drinking red wine but I realised it’s not the actual wine making me red but the sulphites in it. So now I pour the bottle into a decanter and add some sulphite removing drops (I ordered them online) and I don’t flush! Just wanted to post this as I know how crap it was when I thought I couldn’t have red wine anymore :)
Thanks good idea
good to know. december is around the corner :)
thank you, do you know if it works with white wine?
@@froufou100 I'm not sure about white wine. I don't use the drops anymore because they stopped selling them but I sill use the decanter. But tbh I never really flush now. I find rosex gel really helps if I feel like i'm getting warm faced. I keep it in the fridge. Also cover up from winter wind if you can.
Hi Dr. Dray ! Once again a very informative, educational and encouraging video for those with rosacea. I appreciate you ! Thank you. 😀😘🇨🇦
thanks for watching 💜
Hi Dr Dray! I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Have you ever done a video perioral dermatitis?
You are so spot on with this information. I’m sorry I did not find you sooner, it took me soooooo long to find my rosacea triggers. Not to many knowledge out there in the marketplace. So thank you!!

Happy Friday! Excellent info Dr. Dray❤️❤️
Thanks so much Dr for your helping , you have a lot of understanding about it . 👍❤️❤️
Talk about perfect timing! My Rosacea is going wild and the large cystic pustules are extremely painful. I’m vigilant with my Finacea and am taking notes on this video 😊. Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Thank you very much for the information. Please, make a video with products low cost that are effective for rosacea. I trust in your work. Thank you again
It’s crazy how connected this list of trigger foods is to trigger foods for my acid reflux/LPR. I also have rosacea. Thanks for clarifying the connection!
Me too 😪😪
Thanks for a wonderfully informative segment as always! 🙂

Thank you for this video!! I have rosacea so this is super informative 😀

This is great information for me someone with Rosacea. Thanks Dr. Dray 😁
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to discover
what is rosacea and what causes it
try www.MootFace. xyz
Thank you so much. This is really helpful.
I was recently diagnosed by a dermatologist with Rosacea and I didn't even realise it. I used to blush all the time and my friends would always tease me for it which would make the blushing worse. I never realised it could have been rosacea. I did have acne growing up too but lately it has been under control with good skincare. But since I moved to Saudi and am living in a dry climate its causing flare ups for me. Hate it soo much. Thanks for the video. I need to focus more on what other things trigger it. You are a God send Dr Dray!
These earings suit u a lot! Beautiful!
I was able to reduce my rosacea redness tremendously by changing my skincare routine completely thanks to you Dr.Dray.I found you on CZcams and all you’re knowledge lead me to milder products such as Cerave.I have stopped using foundation, because I love my natural skin.I still have a little redness and yes certain triggers makes it worse temporarily, but it’s been a great journey to healthy skin.Thank-You Dr.Dray for all your great educational and fun videos❤️
neo10303 that’s great!! Which cleanser and moisturizer did you use?
I would also love to hear your new skin care routine
Could you please tell us your routine!!
Thank you this was so helpful!!!
Loving your videos. What soaps and or lotion would you recommend for infants and small children with eczema?
I have Rosacea & Raynaud’s , they both are easily inflamed by what you are explaining. It’s good to hear I’m not alone & you educating us. Any other ideas? Pills, creams?
Wow, your skin is so perfect in this video!
I've been tracking everything that I eat for quite some time to better understand what my triggers might be because of my GI issues like IBS And its very important to understand anything that can cause stress There's a definite link between the gut and the skin-
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing all this information with us. Dr. Dray, can you do a video about high-frequency wands and LED therapy. I was researching them online, Neutrogena has an LED mask now in the drugstores and a lot of different High frequency wands are available online. Thank you in advance!
Thank you for your tips. They do work and some of them I learned over the years with the episodes of pustules acne like breakouts. Yes I had to use the topic medication when it was got really pronounced those acne like bumps. The adjustment in diet was another factor beside changing detergents and skin routine.
I learned to managed the rosacea by modifying my diet when I had big breakouts of acne like bumps. It happened thrice in the last twenty years and when I switched diet to a higher content of vegetables in all my three meals a day for several months. The flares went away and the intensity of redness is very light. I have persistant light pink skin tip of nose and on a scar on one cheek, but with light Cc cream it is covered.
I noticed for me the bad flares were also in response to high amounts consumption of cow milk, cheese besides the spicy, cinnamon and tomatoes in diet. When the flares calmed down and I had no more acne like bumps, I was able to re introduce all those food irritants. I do eat the spicy foods, cinnamon, tomatoes base meals and dairy, but not in big amounts and not as frequently. So it is possible to enjoy those foods, but not on high amounts and daily basis.
I had to do trial and error with skin face cleansers, moisturizers and sunscreens. I live up north in Montreal and some winter days can be very dry cold outside and it’s harsh coming to indoors warm place with heater. It was an easy trigger for me the stress environment.
Regarding skin routine I have to adjust constantly switching between cold winters higher moisturizing routine, to hot summers lighter moisturizer routine and to something in between for the fall and spring seasons.
So far when I need more moisturizer in dry winter days the nights I finish routine with an oil or Aquaphor healing ointment or petroleum. For the warmer weather like summer the CeraVe moisturizer at night works well or rosacea La Roche Posay serum AR or the Bioderma rosacea moisturizer. My new favorite for morning application is the Cetaphil moisturizer SPF50. It is light and not thick. I also use the La Roche Posay CC creme SPF30, helps cover some of the redness in warmer seasons and not wear heavy makeup coverage. I did try the cerave light moisturizer SPF30 and like it, but my dermatologist said to use higher SPF. Why do we need a higher of SPF30?
For sunny summer days when I spend long hours outside almost all the time I use these big hats to cover face.
HAPPY FRIDAY DR DRAY, AND HAVE GREAT DAY!!!!
Happy Friday!
This explains a lot. I used to drink a lot of coffee. My face stung and only occasionally flushed after eating tomatoes but when I gave up coffee last year my face flared up so bad. My doctor told me I had eczema (which I do get on my hands) and a friend said it looked like rosacea. I started taking care of my skin for rosacea and its improved a lot
What do you reccomend for treating it?
You look amazing. Love your hair length & bright skin. Thanks for all you do & your lovely mom as well.
thanks
You look really beautiful and fresh when you let your hair down, doctor. ❤
Thank you. Very helpful video. I recently started to get redness on my face and yesterday I got diagnosed with rosacea. 😌
Thanks for video!
Cheers from Italy
Such an informative video !!!
hi dr. dray, love your channel and content ! since i discover your channel it has helped me to solve so many of skin issues of myself and my family members . eternally grateful for your work. Thank you! i would like to ask you about few things .
1. can we buy hyaluronic acid powder and make our own jelly with it as it will be a lot more cost effective .
2. can i use Liquorice Root extract and powder on my face to reduce pigmentation or general brightness? are they safe to use on their own with my moisturiser?
if you can kindly mention these topics in your video , i will be extremely greatful !! Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Happy thanks giving in advance!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️
I definitely notice that my skin becomes drier and more flushed when I drink coffee. I am taking kefir and fermented taramind clay for probiotics - live ones are so much more effective than capsules. Raw milk and raw cheese and raw butter are full of live enzymes which help. Of course pasteurised, homogenised, hormone filled junk sold in supermarkets will do more harm than good.
My rosacea flare ups are mainly caused by products, which is strange. I have never noticed a problem with alcohol. The worst offender being Vitamin C serums / creams. The BEST product I have ever found is Osmosis Skincare Rescue - I could not live without it. Expensive but worth every penny - I no longer have the underlying redness thanks to Rescue.
Your my skincare hero!
Thanks for watching!
This information was very helpful to me! I found once I retired my rosacea calmed down significantly. Stress really made it blossom. Winter is a bad time. Going into a cold, windy, snowy day will reek havoc for me, so I try to cover up with a scarf. Aren't you glad you are in southern climbs! Thank you!
Thanks for watchin :)
I can’t believe Spinach is on this list, like that’s crazy
It would be great if you could do a video for makeup for Rosacea
Thank you so much for this video Dr Dray. I'm not able to have wine, spicy foods of any kind and tomatoes. Yes, chocolate too. 😞 Keeping a log was what helped me years ago. Honestly these foods are not worth a flare, so I just keep away from them. ☺
:)
This was very helpful! I'm going to Thailand this month and my Rosecea always flares when going to hot humid countries. I'm bringing my It Cosmetics CCM cream, the founder created the line for sensitive skin and Rosecea and it has spf 50. Any skin care tips for extra long plane rides, I'm sure lots of other people will be flying this holiday season? My skin always gets out of control on long plane rides, this one I think the longest single flight is 12 hours and a couple shorter flights. I do have a pro tip, lysol wipe everything you come in contact with; the seat, controls, hand rest, head rest, the media screen, the air vent, everything and hand sanitizer periodically.
Hi dr Dray. Luckily I don't suffer from rosacea but I still find the content very useful. Thank you! For all your rosacea sufferers I feel for you guys. I have IBS so long ago had to cut out alcohol, coffee (love coffee), spicy foods and some other stuff that I like. 😭.

Thank you so much for this! I have Rosacea for 7 years now since teenage, but I had never heard of Cinnemaldehyde! Does Turmeric (Curcuma) contain cinnemaldehyde?
Also, why could yogurt trigger Rosacea, and does any yogurt apply for this? Even if dairy-free?
Oh my that’s quite a list 😢
Thanks for all the information. Interesting with a new diagnosis :-)
Happy Friday Dr Dray and have a great weekend 🎉🇪🇸 Cat x
Happy Friday 🍂💜🍂🍂💜
Excellent information, as usual. I’ve recently found a great Dermatologist....together the both of you are helping to demystify Rosacea. I’ve been a sufferer for at least 10 years and am so happy to have answers and solutions, as opposed to you just have sensitive skin....deal with it.
Being born and raised in the Upper Midwest, my diet and environment are riddled with triggers. I’m so upset that Soolantra is so blasted expensive, and that there aren’t generic alternatives. My Derm gave me several samples, and it made a dramatic change in my overall complexion. My next step is to start a detailed journal. I’m willing to make some changes, but I won’t sacrifice the world. There has to be some sort of middle ground.
Rambling.....thanks again for the excellent information.
mroy324 I no it’s very depressing 😔
Mine is completely gut related! I found this out when I got a toe infection from a bad pedicure and was put on antibiotics. WOW. My skin was beautiful- clear, smooth, no redness or acne in sight. Sigh. I gotta fix my microbiome.
Hi Dr. Dray, could you do a video about the best supplements to take for skin?
stay tuned, this video will go up next week
This video was great! Is there a group of foods that would explain why soy sauce and beer/wine are my biggest triggers? I imagine it has something to do with the aging/fermentation process but I can't pinpoint the exact ingredient in these foods that leads to flareups. Any insight is appreciated! Thank you.
sulfites
Happy Friday Dr Dray 💙☕️.
Happy Friday :)
The list is absolutely true and I react to all those on the list. It's a bit difficult to stay away from all of them, but as long as I use azelaic acid to stop pustules, I'm usually not too red in the summer. If I have small quantities of chocolate, I don't flare if I don't have much of the other items. Winter is difficult. I end up eating a higher protein diet in the form of meat or fish. I'd like to have less meat, but most beans, grains, nuts, and soy are off the table. Almonds are ok. Any diet ideas to get protein but not so much meat?
Most of those foods listed are high in something called "amines." Eggplants, tomatoes, bananas, cheese, citrus .... Some people have sensitivity to amines, so I wonder if the amines are somehow linked to rosacea?
Thank you!! Very understanding :))
Thanks, very informative as always. I wonder whether sugar and gluten can be bad for rosacea too, since they tend to be bad for the skin and the gut in general, but people don't usually think if them as culprits for rosacea flare ups.
I've read that it doesinduce it and also is my personal experience - anything wheat related. Also diary products.
Yeah for it's dairy products. And maybe sugar
You look gorgeous Dr.Dray. You are such an inspiration!
Thanks!
