This is the start of my Onam series 2021. In today's video, I will be starting off by sharing a very special recipe of Easy Munthiri Kothu.
How to make Easy Munthiri Kothu
Water - 1 Cup
Jaggery - 1/2 kg
Coconut - 2 1/2 Cups
Green gram ( Cherupayar ) - 1/2 Kg
Cardamon powder - 1 tsp
Rice Flour - 11/2 - 2 Cups
Turmeric powder - 3/4 - 1tsp
oil( for frying )

I tried this recipe as it reminded me of my അമ്മാമ്മ making munthirikothu ഡയമണ്ട് cuts etc during Onam. Almost 30 years since I tasted munthirikothu. Have to say though I tried first time, following your detailed instruction it came perfect and felt very nostalgic while eating. Thank you so much ചേച്ചീ.

ഇതിന്റെ വിശേഴം എന്ന് വെച്ചാൽ ഇത് ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊരുമ്പോൾ മുന്തിരിക്കുള്ളപോലെ ചേർന്നുചേർന്നു ഇരിക്കും. അഞ്ചു ഏഴു എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറന്നു ചേർത്താണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്. അല്ലാതെ ഒറ്റക്കുറ്റക്കല്ല ഇതെടുക്കുന്നത്.
