So many features, all I needed was ability to drag drop reminder onto the calendar app and the event sync both ways.
If you’re ok with paid apps fantastical does exactly does
I downloaded BusyCal & it updates and includes both, all reminders and apple calendar events. I did the trial but it seemed to work fine after it. I had it on my Mac tho
I live north of Milwaukee and thought we were the only ones with that weird trash/recycling pickup schedule. 😂 Good video!
The best thing is to get reminders from your watch
I like the column view for leads and pipelines
I agree multi user support so needed
I run my life out of Apple Reminders and Apple Notes. They are both fantastic apps and wicked fast. Siri support in Reminders is perfection and I love the ability to neatly link my notes to reminders.
Same here. But lately I noticed the reminders app is starting to lag. Maybe it’s because I have too much data stored in the Reminders app. I use it very often, for both work and personal. I wish I could figure out how to speed up the Reminders app again.
@@TJ-22Something is wrong. There should be no lag at all. Try turning your device(s) on and off. You might want to Google or contact Apple Support.
@@raygold1 I’ve tried turning it on and off many times. Apple support suggests doing a reset, so I’m trying to find an alternate solution.
I've been using Apple products for years and never fully used REMINDERS to it's fullest and this definitely gave me some better ideas how to use it.
Great video, info and explanations. Thank you!
I use reminders for my workout plans from my coach:
Groups "Week 1 of 4, 2of4, 3of4, 4of4”LISTS: day1 legs, day 2 back/chest, day 3 shoulders arms, day 4 glues/hams
Tasks are the exercises themselves: barbell back squats - 3 sets 20/pulse 20 on last rep
Subtasks are my sets and reps and I log notes
set1 85# too heavy
set2 65# just right
set3 65# fail at 15
I save the lists as templates to reuse the same routine for 4 weeks. I’ll print my workouts when I’m done and share them with my coach to review and adapt. {I actually save them now as tabloid size PDF to files most days this allows all items to fit in one page}
Doing daily checklists for my 11yo ADHD & on the spectrum.
He loves checking things off {HIS LISTS} and I have set to “show completed” for that added feeling of accomplishment!!
Groups: Sunday-Saturday
Lists: morning, after school, evening and before bed
Tasks: 🪥brush teeth, 👕🩳change clothes, 🐕feed dog, etc. 🧹🍽️🛁🎒📚
Options are ENDLESS 😃
Reminders is one of the best and underrated apps on Apple products. It’s basically my planner!
I love apple reminder but it would be cool if the reminder can sync with the calendar event. Apple please make it happen ❤. Hope one day this will happen
Same!
@@mauriciorodriguez918 it would be soooo cool and efficient
I use the grocery list option to make a pantry list, so I know what’s in my pantry.
Hmmm this may be a game changer
yes you can make mutiple "grocery list" and rename it i track whats in my deep freezer
How many times I have seen this video?
Me: YES ‼
Great video 👍
Learned some tricks here !
For my productivity, I creat a shortcut who runs himself at 5 in the morning that transform my calendar entries (tasks, events, and appointements) in reminders. I never forgot anything now 🤟
That’s an awesome idea!
The siri snd reminder combo is super useful, thanks for the tip!
No problem!
I have not designed yet such a sophisticated system to use the reminders, but I completely agree with you that the Siri+reminders combo is the deadliest out there. I love it and I use it a lot. I will try to expand following your tips. Thank you very much for this great video!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
So practical the examples. Thank you.
Terrific video! Love Apple reminders, and hadn’t thought about the trash/recycling, awesome tip!
Thanks for watching!
You’re one of the few people who is not forcing us to spend money on some SAS
I always enjoy your efforts. Well done.
Thank you! Cheers!!
Some great tips on here. Just subbed. Thanks and keep up the great content.
Awesome, thank you!
Very useful, the pacing was just right for me. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
What do you say to Reminders taking up too much storage space? You actually have to delete a file on your Mac to at least reduce the size.
Thanks, Brandon! This vid was extremely helpful and informative. I had no clue Apple reminders could do all of this. Will be following you from now on!
Glad it was helpful and thanks for the follow!
Great video! Very useful
Glad to hear it!
Hey Brandon, excellent video, explaining how the Reminders app works.
I'd like to hear your opinion on how to go about doing the things below. If you think it's worth your time, please develop and publish a video on them.
* The Apple Calendar app has some features similar to some features in the Reminders app and vice versa. What would you recommend as to how to decide whether a task should go into the Calendar app or into the Reminders app? (I use a simple rule. If a task needs to be done at a particular day/time, I put in on the Calendar.)
* What options can you name/describe as the basis for Reminder lists? The most common one is that a list is a "topic". There are others.
* I've made sure that the folders/lists I have in the Calendar app, the Reminders app, and the Notes app are identical. Does this sound like a good idea?
Love Apple Reminders
Me too!
Really love Apple Reminders. Do you know what would be the easiest way to import all my tasks from Todoist to Apple Reminders?
Great succinct video!
Thanks for watching!
Really nice video! I will give it a shot again.
Super underrated content! First time I’ve commented this but you got a subscriber!:)
This awsome video really helped me understand that powerful app that I use daily even better. You rock!!!
WOW.. AWESOME Video. I sent Apple a Suggestion to add Notes to the Calendar App. I WISH Apple create away to add Alarms to Apple Notes / Alerts like with EVERNOTE.
That would be cool!
Great vid! I just started using Reminders for things I used to have on my calendar and picked up some good tips. However...
This confirms a problem I'm having is not a common bug. I can't change the list in the Reminders widget. When in edit widget mode, I tap the list, and it just dims.
This works fine on my iPad. Brand new iPhone 15 Pro running 17.1, nothing.
Thanks for watching! And odd bug indeed. Hmmm..
its helps
Where do the “Siri” reminders go? Do they default as a free floating reminder list? (parentless folder)😊
Enjoyed the video. While using the reminders app on my iphone. When I search for keywords in a subtask, I wish the search results would pull up the entire reminder, rather than just the individual subtask. Do you know if there a way to do this?
I don’t, but it’s a good idea!
Are the reminders persistent? Meaning, I can't clear them from the notification center until I mark them as done? Also, does anyone know if they those come back if you reboot your phone?
although I'm baffled, confounded, stupefied by the lack of integration between the Calendar, Reminders and Notes. They all should be connected and able to communicate with one another.
Here here! Agreed
Been using reminders for a long time because I've never been a fan of how 3rd party apps give me notifications. Was excited about the grocery list auto-sorting, but I find it doesn't work. It's not sorting automatically at all. I'm running the latest iOS as of today. Oh well! Maybe it's a bug that it doesn't work for all (iPad or iPhone - I do not have a Mac).
Very odd! Delete the list and make a new one? No clue.
Why dont I have the groceries list in my reminders app?? I have iphone 14 pro max and its all up to date (I'm in UK maybe why?)
Hi Brandon, is there a way to "share" the tags on shared lists as well? We're sharing a groceries list with my partner, in general we do our shopping at 2 different (sometimes 3) shops depending on the items. When I tag the items in my list with the name of the shop, it's easy to set a filter when I'm at a particular shop. However, these tags are not transferred on this shared list to my partners device. Any tricks? Thanks Deniz
Gosh not that i know of, but that’s a great use case and idea!
@@BrandonMeves how do we get this kind of ideas to Apple? It would make sense to share tags in shared lists, or have the app to ask if you want to include tag-sharing. I look forward to an update video where explain this new feature with IOS 17.3 or so 😜
@@BrandonMeves is it possible to have the reminders widget showing the list in a sorterd manner? I’ve sorted the list by deadline on my iphone but the widget keeps ignoring this sortation and showing me the ones which I entered first
Ancient One here, this is awesome,Siri is my gal Friday now [ do you youngstes get that reference?] “ hay Siri remind me to thank Brandon.”
Hod do you, or can you, drag an email into Reminders to create a task/reminder? A large proportion of my work is generated by email or phone calls so this is a fundamental requirement for me. I can do it in Things 3 but not Reminders (unless you tell me otherwise?)
I'm not sure I know of a way! You can link an email in a note within the Notes app by making a quick note while on the email, but don't know of a way in Reminders unfortunately.
I heard that Reminders and iCal will synchronize when they release iOS 18 ツ
thats what I heard too! crossing fingers!
not enough memory to down load 17.
Anything that I can't trust my "loser brain" with 😂lmao
Until they combine the two apps these are killing me. To many steps to do simple actions, if it wasn’t for siri i wouldn’t use apple calendar or reminders
I hear ya on this one
the intro was hard
