China Backs Down! Allies Turn Against It. US, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan Encircle China

  • The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) appears confident in its power, exerting pressure on neighboring countries and aligning with nations such as Russia, Iran, and North Korea. They seem to believe that with these alliances, they can act with impunity, including confronting the United States. Domestically, CCP nationalists frequently express ambitions of using military force to compel the U.S. into submission and discuss the potential "reunification of Taiwan by force."
    The U.S. and Western countries have long been dissatisfied with the CCP's actions. The U.S. has rolled out the "Indo-Pacific Strategy," aiming to contain China in the Indo-Pacific region. India and Vietnam, two of China's neighbors, have long standing grievances with the CCP. Now, with the U.S. fanning the flames, the CCP finds itself besieged, struggling on all fronts, and in a precarious position.

    Russia cannot confront all of NATO directly. Doing so finishes Russia within a year, despite it's size. China's allies are all quite weak; 3 out of 4 nuclear armed, yes, but collectively NATOs nuclear missiles match the number of the "Axis of Evil", only because of Russia. The Soviet Union came to an accord with NATO 35 years ago, under Gorbachev, ending the Cold War. Not just because Gorbachev was friendly to the West, but mainly because the Soviet Union was bankrupt and could not sustain (back then) cost of armament and miitary technology parity with the West with a moribund economy. The CCP launched it's military challenge too early to have an overwhelming buildup in ships and warplanes to challenge the US and it's allies (including some NATO allies). Even in the excess warships (counting hulls, not tonnage), the PLAN ships are not as technologically advanced as the US and Pacific allies and it's sailors are not as well trained. The CCP's idological desire to launch an attack on Taiwan is driven by 2 factors; 1. XI jinping's obsession about this and 2. The failed "Wolf Warrior" diplomacy act as a cover-up for causing the Covid19 pandemic out of Wuhan, China. These investigations are still stymied by the CCP and aggressive denial may be cover for guilt. Especially if "gain of function" germ warfare was pursued. Given the secrecy about this, and other coverups by the CCP such as the genocide of Uyghers in Xinjiang, and other concurrent Crimes Against Humanity by the CCP, we should certainly not trust the word or actions of the CCP these days.

      India has close ties to the USA, Canada and Japan. India getting closer to the West and its allies only makes sense. Doing so would peel Western countries away from Pakistan as well. Indian people behave as though allying itself to the West would make it somehow subordinate to the West, as if it were under colonial rule again, this is ridiculous. The age of colonialization is over. The USA and other Western countries want to ally with India because we share similar values about peace, freedom, and prosperity.

    Russia nearly used battlefield nukes against China in the late 1960s to counter battalion-sized incursions by the Chinese along Russia's eastern border with China. The Soviet Union conferred with Washington, the Nixon administration, about its contemplated use of low-yield nukes against Chinese forces but was dissuaded from doing so, as it was feared that such a use might lead to an uncontrolled escalation to strategic nukes by both sides. The US was successful in convincing the Soviets to use other means to resolve their territorial disputes with China.
    The point here is that this insatiable appetite China has for the territories and natural resources of neighboring countries is nothing new, having been going on for centuries. The problem today is that China will not modernize its mindset of conquest, forcible occupation, Sinicization and control of neighboring countries.

    Just because a power is much weaker than it looks and is set up for failure doesn’t mean it can’t do a lot of damage in the attempt. Winning a war against a larger nation is certainly possible but it isn’t a fun process. The small powers and their allies need to be ready for some really hard times as China goes through the process of learning that they aren’t the god-kings they think they are. It is also important to remember that just because there are every reason for a national to avoid a course of action doesn’t mean they will. People who make those videos about “5 clear reasons why China won’t invade Taiwan” are deluded into thinking that Chinese leadership cares about reason and reality.

    As an American I have always loved the ancient Chinese culture ever since I was a boy. The food, the architecture, the writing, the history and of course, the Kung fu has always fascinated me, all characteristics of a proud culture so I am highly against a war with China since I know many average, poor Chinese will pay with their lives as well as the U.S. armed forces coming from mostly poor, rural areas in the South and mid Wes while the powerful well connected people on both sides will see their families shielded from the conflict which will prove to be the most violent in history. I think it is in everyone’s best interest to resolve any dispute politically and peacefully because, as an American, I’m no big fan of communism, although our system has some well deserved criticism, but I think the Chinese are feeling threatened by our military presence so close to their shores, as any nation would, and we should try and be more understanding of their concerns, since they reflect how we feel toward Russian vessels in Cuba and off of our coastlines. Everyone needs to calm down and avoid a conflict and remember that this isn’t going to be like WWII, the losing side in a conventional conflict will ultimately be forced to resort to nuclear weapons and that will be the end of everything for everyone, except a very well connected few, who will find themselves in a world not worth living in.

      @maxmillion6428 Před 8 dny +1

      Yes, of course the Chinese have a right to self defense, as do all people threatened, personally and nationally. Historically speaking however, it was Deng Xiaoping who promised Henry Kissinger that China would resolve its conflict with Taiwan peacefully and in return the United States would supply China with weapons and investment capital. Had it not been for this agreement China would not have the capability to launch an invasion, that said, I think all of the wealth China has acquired due to its free market zones and heavy Western investments, will be lost in short order if war breaks out. War is grossly expensive and the cost/benefit to acquire Taiwan appears to be too high. The truth, as I see it, is that the Chinese people have suffered greatly over the centuries, throughout the century of humiliation, to the invasion of Japan, and even after the cultural revolution, where the hunger and hardship was nearly unbearable and just as things are improving China’s ambitions could undermine their progress. The Chinese are highly intelligent people, but they are sometimes prone to over aggressive gambling due to hasty ambitions, and like Evergrand and now Country Garden, I fear China will overplay its hand and decades of investments could be lost. Diplomacy is the most cost effective way forward, as I see it.

    The truth about the effectiveness of any one country's weapons of war should also include that of the opponent, if comparisons are being made. If it is a war between the USA and both Russia and China, the US has already been determined to lose by every authority on the matter. Regardless of the one vs two disadvantage, the US has invested heavily in weapons that fought the last war and not the one coning ahead. Too many experts have looked at the aircraft carrier group's defenses against the new evasive and hyper-sonic SMART missiles and have concluded the US's 10 aircraft carriers will be sunk withing 2 weeks, 3 if they are being hidden and docked at home. As for bad purchases, the entire Littoral fleet was decommissioned and like the new Aircraft carrier the Gerald Ford, they were all deemed incapable of combat. The F-22 never resolved its problems as the F-35 still has to use gun pods and work out some electrical issues. The M1 Abrams program is over after having invested heavily in to a new generation of expensive sitting ducks for cheap plastic drones.
    So before you poo poo the efforts of Russia and China, be aware the US is not the good guy it has been marketing itself to be, and they are not controlled by the citizens of the USA. They are a hijacked entity that believes the world needs the population reduced by 95% and everything on this Earth belongs to them. That is why they have such a difficult time with the few countries they cannot control. Russia, Syria, Iran, Venezuela, Iceland, and now possibly China. The list is growing as the world see's the US and NATO as the pirating aggressors that they have turned out to be.
