Grip tight at menards has anti-split stainless steel screws that do not require pre-drilling. I just built a 6 foot cedar privacy fence and didn’t have a single split in any pickets, little more expensive but saves time.

My friend removed the outside lock slot on his latch that has lock slots on both sides because people put something on the lock slot preventing him from exiting on his own gate. He had to go around his property to unlock. After a couple of times he decided to grind it off lol
