The hardware stores near me don't have truss rods in Rolla, Missouri. They just have tension bars. I've never used tension bars. Are those used for the same purpose? Where can I find truss rods

As a former insurance adjuster I had a lot of commercial condo buildings that would be damaged due to hail storms. The one contractor I used ran into these guys that were dual citizens Mexican Canadian Mennonites. They had a number of families that they travelled with and approached the contractor one day and asked if he would give them a try. Well my contractor was working 24/7 and badly needed more roof subs. He had a very problematic customer who was a broker and kicked off 2 companies and so for some reason used these guys to do the roof. They had no tools so my contract went and bought them what they needed, so hand nailing the roof the crew of Mennonite’s started at 9am and were done by noon. My contractor came back and met them thinking it was going to be another mess, not at all, the broker was so happy, the roof was perfect and not a scrap of debris to be found or any damage to the property. So within 2 yrs I was giving this company over 2 million in roof work a year and they had a fleet of trucks, all the tools a gutter forming machine and were the best, most reliable and most honest folks I’ve ever dealt with in my 18 yrs of insurance work. Hard work and honesty goes a long way, especially these days. I was very happy to have been a part of their success.

Your system is cool, a lot of this video is the same ways we do and as always great video. We to have way too small of a shop but our way is a lot easier and takes up less space. Maybe i'll make a small video next week since i Have a 55 footer to build. I would suggest getting a 2-5 ton over head crane to flip your gates. We pick up one side up and lower it to the ground after we move the stands then connect it to the other side near the middle and lift it and move it over and lower it back on stands and pick up the other end with the over head crane on a I-beam well worth having one. Your shop is way nicer than ours btw. If i do make a video don't judge video skills i'm not as experienced like you guys are. Sharing ideas is the only way our industry can grow.

Yeah they work hard when competing with others until they lie their way into having nothing but Mexicans on the job and then they all SLOW down and warn each other when the boss is coming. Don’t tell me, I learned to speak Spanish fluently by working with Mexicans for decades. At new job sites I would here them plotting out their lies to get rid of the new “gringo. They do terrible work and are lazy and conniving. Just visit Mexico and look at EVERYTHING. You want cartels running the US, then just keep talking about how Mexicans are so great.

Regarding the Fence Armor Rot Barrier sleeves (Postsaver) you mentioned, they've conducted thorough testing and have had posts using this method since 1994. Two versions are available: a 20-year version, as shown in your video, and a 40-year version. Unlike other rot protection methods, these come with a warranty of 20 and 40 years. I also agree with your comments about using gravel at the bottom of the post. It could be beneficial if the porosity of the soil is higher than that of the gravel, although this isn’t typically the case.

I agree that the easy tie is a game changer. It certainly the way to go if you are building a full fence or multiple fences. But 50 dollars for the drill fittings. A little high price for a small fence replacement job.
