No way! Silence is perfect you can hear your suspension and geometry shift and change. You can hear when you've got traction. So many benefits you aren't thinking of until you ride an electric bike for a good long while?
I'm from your era so I get it. I love this new 2 stroke revival the world is seeing!
But when people are stuck at home. They can't go anywhere during lock down let alone ride 3 fkn hours just to ride bikes so they don't annoy non bike riders! It's crazy but it's a reality that my friends are facing!
They are all chipping in to buy a property out in the sticks for hundreds of thousands of dollars just to solve the problem haha.
I see this as the ultimate. They are not at all intimidating to anyone. In fact you get old people inquisitive and asking about them?
Ask people if you can ride on their land? Give them a ride and probably make an instant riding buddy and before long a silent army having lots of fun and nobody knows or cares?

I couldn't help noticing what a great track that is, how skilled the rider was, and how powerful the electric bike was.
Cahuilla MX is one of the best tracks in the country.

When these catch on it's going to really open up the possibility of more tracks in more populated areas. Years ago we were trying to open up an indoor track and noise was by far the biggest hurdle.

No they won't in terms of more bush trails.. They'll say the quiet doesn't alert the impending bike around the corner about to hit unsuspecting walker or bike rider. At least the petrol bike sound alerts people.

This looked really sweet!!! I am 64. I started on honda elsinores. In my wildest dreams i never could have imagined this! It is sweet to see the power to weight ratio especially. It appears to corner and brake very well as well as jumping fine. Terrific riding, great racing dude, you smoked them!. Amazing, truly amazing!

That was incredible riding! The acceleration of an electric motor is phenomenal. I’m thinking not having to shift or worry about being in the right gear has to be a big advantage. Thanks for sharing 👍
Sensitivity of throttle response is amazing
I’d imagine it’d be both an advantage and a disadvantage. Racers memorize corner speed thru gear and rpm/sound. I’d also be interested in how severe the motor braking is, and if their is a clutch.

Yeah i can barley hear them in the background. Next we have to tap aetheric ZPE radiant energy with a mini Depalma homopolar N-machine motor generator and let the fun begin. A carbon fiber wound winding synchronous axial motor making about 300 HP or so.

They are also extremely confusing without engine noise, it's easy to end up flying off the track when taking a corner. Your sense of speed is way different without that engine sound.

What a spectacular race! I don't have any electric motorcycles. Though I do have a local commuting E-scooter with a 5600 watt dual wheel hub motor system and I've generally been very impressed with the torque on these motors. It's almost absurd how efficient they are. Mine goes fast enough that I essentially ride it like a motor bike. Seeing as how it's kinda risky to stand on it when it's at full speed. But taking it off road has been a breeze. It's a shame that harley killed the Alta. They had so much potential.

Man that thing rips nice riding dude, bike seems to perform very well although I'm a four stroke guy I don't do MX but that looks so much fun. And a big plus for opening up Mx tracks in more populated areas with bikes as quiet as that. 👍

I've always been a 2 stroke kinda guy, I've gone to the dark side and gone electric, I'd never go back, next to no maintenance, light, powerful and when we hit the green lanes there's no pissing people off with the noise, it's the future for sure, could do so much for the sport with the advantages of makeing it easier to open up tracks
How would it do on our 68 mile woods loop? We have to fuel up during the ride..
Also how well would it do in the 2.5 hour harescramble races? They are around 60 miles also. One more thing, we also ride on days as cold as 8 degrees F, how well do the batteries work at 8? I can't even get the starter battery to work at that temperature.
We did a 60 mile hair Scrabble in the snow last week, did 1 battery swap, it was around 2 degrees

I know dirt bikes have that awesome unique sound that nothing else can produce. But having a quiet one is gonna be way better for your auditory health and will let you ride pretty much anywhere without getting noise complaints. I think this is a step in the right direction.

Te pongo un ejemplo, Francia: El país con más coches eléctricos en proporcion de poblacion de toda Europa, pero también es el país con más centrales nucleáres, casualidad no lo creo. Lo único q estan haciendo vendiendo a toda costa el producto "Eco" es causar una falta de energía global lo que origina más demanda de la mísma y por consecuencia la subida de los precios de la luz que en la actualidad ya es estratosférica.
Primero que se preocupen de poder soportar semejante demanda eléctrica y sobre todo q esta venga de energías renovables y luego ya que nos vendan lo que quieran pero que nos nos hagan pagar vehículos de un alto coste y encima nos mientan.

Battery comes out.. as many battery’s as you have. Pretty sure if racing they’d have 10+ battery’s. They only about about a hour or less to charge.
Look up surron it’s literally this but street legal lol as I’m %1000 whatever motor / battery combo he’s running wouldn’t be street legal XD
Electric bikes would be cool but the battery only lets you have fun for about an hour, maybe more if you mod it and you’re good at that shit. Also there’s no way you can charge it up in an hour that would take all night
This bike produces 50hp and 42ftlb of torque at the rear wheel. Battery range depends on many factors like how fast of a rider is on the bike, the type of riding, the dirt condition, etc. In this video i did a 18min+1 lap starting with a full charge and you can see i had about 25% left when i finished. On slower, tighter tracks i can ride longer. This range is plenty for most people as after 20 minutes of pushing hard, most riders are physically tired anyway. Recharging from 25%-100% takes about 75min. Its really not that bad at all. By the time the bike is recharged, im rested and ready to ride another hard moto.
You could buy a fast charger for swap batteries and have a battery system similar to a power tool.. pop out old and pop in the new.

The pull out of the corners is insane! Torque monster. It's got more torque than a 4S and top end like a 2 stroke
And that's the same amount of torque all the way through from 1 km to top speed.

Idk,I've spent many hrs at the track smelling exhaust and listening to the roar. Don't get me wrong, it's nice at first and all part of the fun, but the endless nights of migraine headaches At the track waiting for the races to end, I will not miss.

@@catfish_lude actually I have . I have a few electric bikes . I've been riding and racing since 7 years old and have never even owned a 4 Stroke cross. My main ride is a KTM 250 excw . Electric, when batteries are better , will be the best change for many , ever.
Yep less maintenance, but i stick to internal combustion engines cause it's fun to ride with
I used to ride Husky automatic transmission bikes back in the day, and in enduros and difficult off road riding in the Pacific Northwest, they were unbelievably fast. Only problem was the constant maintenance that had to be done to tranny and clutch springs. I’m really surprised no one took the concept to the next level back in two stroke kingdom days!

That instant torque out of the turns makes this thing a God
Indeed. I just bought an Ioniq5 AWD and it's got incredible torque as well. Absolutely no wheel spin and pin you in the seat acceleration.
The alta was and still is the ultimate electric dirt bike. I'm excited to see if the starg varg is going to be a rightful successor... cause we all miss the alta dearly
All of the major manufacturers are already working (or already have) on e-bikes. KTM, Husqvarna, gasgas, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, will all have them soon, some already have them. It is just a matter of time before they take over the market.
The torque pulling out the gate start is amazing
With regenerative braking, I can see this bike running longer with the constant braking. Would love to try this bike. Nice 👍 vid.
Regen wouldn't work much at all. The rear brake is hardly used except for small adjustments and locking the rear to either adjust angle in the air or to slam the door shut on someone in a corner. Braking on a motorcycle is done 90% front. The rear has no real braking ability
Being that this motor is pulling its hardest the lower it is revving, you should be able to leave the corners earlier and turn under anyone. Looks like a blast👍

@@rattyratstuff7125 Who needs or wants spectators? I already have several EVs and they are lightyears beyond kids toys. One of my bikes has a 52 Ducati motor and Electric Hubs. It only goes 52 but I beat all freeway traffic within 50 miles because the bike path goes under all the roads now and I don't stop for stupid stop signs or lights and it gets 135 MPG. I've got a clue for you, within 18 months neither Gas, Hydrogen or Electric vehicles will be going anywhere.....Mark My words and when you see that flash thats brighter than the sun, remember me.

Iv also had a few motor cross bikes and the feeling and sound of a actual 4 stroke engine is better.

The problem comes when you cant afford a new one and the second hand values are regulated by the cost of a new battery, nearly half the cost of a new bike! As the cost comes down, they may be more attractive. Hydrogen cell has yet to be tested....
