- In today's video, the Bronco Sport Badlands gets an upgrade in supports. Since prop rods can be knocked out of the the holes (it can happen) causing the hood to fall, we decided that it would be safer to get hydraulic struts from Red Line Tuning.
This product is easy to install and not only that, it actually lifts up the hood HIGHER than the prop rod can!

Very nice. I saw they have them for wife's 2020 Escape, too. I don't like the prop rods on cars; they are examples of manufacturers cutting cost while sacrificing convenience for the customer. Thanks for the info!

Jill's comment about knocking out the support is dead on. Been there done that. Have the knot to prove it. Not having a hood release is also a PIA, especially if you don't get it latched the first time.

They actually worked better then I thought. They don't just hold the hood up it pushes it up.

Purchased a set for our Mustang and love them, Ordered our Bronco Sport Area 51 Big Bend last week and will be getting these for it too.
They are really nice to have. I got the stainless ones because we live in a Florida. Salt kills.
The only issue I see is those rods make it impossible to drop the hood to close it.
i wish a company would make a bash plate with access holes for the oil filter and oil drain. takes me longer to remove that than to change the oil. great videos btw...😊

The prop rod may not be the best thing, but it’s better than a broom handle.
LOL the hood struts are wonderful. we kept the prop as a back up. never remove the prop.

Among the many upgrades I have planned for my bronco sport this will probably be the 1st one , I went with the base model although in retrospect I should have gone maybe 1 tier higher my only gripe about this model is that it’s a key ignition.
they made it a key ignition...? I did not know that...definitely get the struts, but do not remove the prop rod - keep it as a backup because struts can fail over time.
@@1Five1Garage other than the key ignition it has been a great upgrade from my 2020 Nissan kicks .

Hey all, I have a group question. I have the same Bronco Sport that Jill has down to color haha. I recently went on a long road trip, and got in some nasty gusty winds. It was literally blowing me off the road. I topped out at 40 mph for over 100 miles! Even people pulling trailers were passing me. Is there a Goat Mode I could have used?
There is no goats mode for that. The sport is just a light vehicle. The vehicles pulling trailers weigh more so wind isn’t going knock them around as easy.
Keep twisting the knob until you get to "Wicked Witch of the West" GOAT mode, you should land safely on the nearest Wicked Witch of the West.

49 dollars on Amazon, complete set. Non stainless steel though.
In Florida every single thing needs to be stainless otherwise rust city here we come!
@@1Five1Garage not exactly correct.Of course it is better if it is stainless steel but it can be regular stock with components painted otherwise your entire car would have to be stainless steel. People here in NY love to buy cars from Florida because they are much less rusty than cars from North East due to salty roads here , in the winter. Salt do much more damage to regular ,carbon steel than humidity in Florida. Simple science.
