Buyer beware, I installed a set of these yesterday on my Bronco and when it fully opens the hood rubs against the cowl. I can see it damaging the paint on the hood and possibly cracking or deforming the cowl. There doesn't appear to be any kind of adjustment on the struts to be made. FYI I did install it all correctly and it is this same Redline Max Lift Hood set.
That’s the first that i have heard of this issue! I wonder if the standard height lift would alleviate this condition. I was planning to get this but i’ll wait for more info.
Plus, this video shows the hood having to be force-slammed in order to secure the latch and that is not something i want to do over the long term!
@@Bacnow Just fyi I don't have to slam my hood but I do have to put a little extra downward force on it to close it.
Travis, I have been watching mine since I saw your comment. I am not having the same issue. Have you reached out to them and if so what was the outcome?
Do you think this upgrade is worth $99?
I have Redline Tuning gas struts on my Jeep Gladiator...don't recall who much they cost though. Regardless, YES, I think they are a "worth it" upgrade!
JEEP should have put them on as factory-standard equipment, given how expensive Jeeps (and Broncos are).
BTW, I kept the OEM hood strut/rod, and on windy days I use it also as a 3rd anchor-point to secure the open hood -- it's a VERY stable solution on said windy days.
Happy Bronco-ing,

@@billredding2000 good point on the wind. Especially on the front range.
